[Divine Spore Field]- An ability of the Bloomkeeper that instantly turns any field or area into its personal biome.
"Shall we move forward then?"
Now that the wild blooms had appeared, proceeding forward didn't pose a problem anymore. Of course, Reinhardt did not summon the divine beast simply to light the path ahead.
Another effect of the [Divine Spore Field] was that any demonic or cursed energy present within its field was cleansed and devoured, converted into pure mana.
As the divine beast's ability was linked to his own divine energy, the [Divine Spore Field] had no limit as long as he did not run out of energy. And so, the dense demonic energy that had been plaguing the capital for so long was instantly addressed by the Divine Paladin.
That said, the problem was not resolved completely, as the source that was creating the disturbance was still down there.
The members of the Temple of Light began their descent once again.
During this whole journey, the glowing stag accompanied them. Many members, unable to keep their curiosity in check, approached it. However, the beast would always avoid them.
Not all of them were met with cold indifference, though. Kevin approached the glowing stag, determined to make friends with it.
When everyone thought that he would make the beast run away again with his overly loud personality, something incredible happened.
Contrary to their expectation, the Bloomkeeper did not run away or avoid him. Instead, it looked at the boy and the sword on his back with its spiritual eyes before leaning its head forward, allowing the boy to touch it.
!!!
Everyone was stunned. The stag ran away from all of them, not even allowing them anywhere near. Yet when it came to Kevin, not only did it allow him to come near but even caress its head.
Even the Holy Knights were impressed.
Reinhardt glanced at the scene transpiring next to him, a thoughtful glint flashed in his eyes. As a low tier summon, the Bloomkeeper did not possess much combat ability.
That said, though its tier is humble, one cannot underestimate it as it is no mere creature, but a sacred beast of boundless spirituality. It tends the Forest of the Gods, weaving life into every leaf and branch.
Its presence is revered, which is why one cannot touch it if they are unworthy. Only those with a soul untainted or bearing an immense fate can draw near it.
Given Kevin's background and the providence he bears, it was no wonder the Bloomkeeper found him worthy.
"Hm?"
While everyone was looking at the squire in surprise, something even more incredible happened. The beast raised its head, its antlers glowed with a brilliant light before a part of it broke apart and flew towards the boy, levitating in front of him.
"This is?" Kevin was confused for a second when...
"Accept… it… that… item… exquisite… energy…"
The sword spoke in his mind. Ever since that incident where he had a weird encounter with the one who called themselves the Primordius Dragon, the sword, [Tiamat] started becoming more chatty.
She would initiate a conversation with him on her own accord, just like today. Though her voice never came clearly for some reason.
He tried to tell about the incredible thing that happened to him to his friends. However, they only looked at him as if he had hit his head hard somewhere.
Hearing the sword speak again, Kevin did not reject the item and promptly took it in his hands.
"Keep it safe with you. It is something that will help you," Reinhardt spoke from the side.
The boy nodded his head and kept it secured in his waist bag.
"Commander, what was that item the stag gave him?"
As the scene was captured by everyone present, naturally they became curious about the item the squire got from this mysterious beast their commander summoned.
"The Bloomkeeper gave him that item on its own accord. It is something good that will allow him to grow."
Reinhardt did not divulge much as his actions could temper with destiny if he revealed too much.
With the ominous demonic energy gone and the place illuminated by luminous fungi and mushrooms, the squad quickly reached the end of the stairs and stood in front of a gigantic chamber that stretched forward to unknown depths.
"We should be closer. At the end of the chamber should be the vault," Reinhardt spoke, leading ahead.
It was not long before they could hear sounds coming off from the distance.
At that very instant, the Holy Knights, followed by the high raking knights, put their hands on their swords, ready to unsheathe them at a moment's notice.
The reason for that was simple: the sounds coming from the distance did not sound friendly. It was a chaotic noise of sword clashing and skills colliding.
In short, the sounds were from a battle.
Just as the squad took a couple of steps, a berserk to the extreme wave of bloodlust hit them, and from the distance came the hurried sounds of footsteps.
The members of the temple of light deftly took out their swords. The sound coming from the distance seemed more like the knight's boots hitting the cold ground. However, no knight would come at them while exuding such hostility.
The next second, they were proven right as the one that appeared was no knight, but an… enemy?!!
At that very moment when the light from the luminous mushroom and fungus fell on the onrushing figures, the knights of the Temple of Light opened their eyes wide in surprise, and their blades stilled for a second.
They fully expected enemies to rush at them, so why was their own ally coming at them while bearing such immense hostility?
Of course, the ones with such thoughts were only the new members of the order. The ones who had stuck along with the order for a long time instantly identified their enemy's nature and swiftly intercepted them without any delay.
