Food God System: Wasteland

Chapter 308: 165. Deadly Ambush_2

Chana and the others in the leftmost dormitory building had not fired a shot, forcing themselves to hold back under Chen Che's command.

The right side was ablaze with gunfire, while the left remained silent, so most of the gangsters and mercenaries instinctively turned their backs to the left, exposing themselves to Chen Che's sights from the left and front right.

Chen Che almost couldn't lift his head due to the suppressive fire.

The difference in numbers was just too great, and this was alley combat, nowhere near as favorable for shooting as a standoff battle.

Once your position was locked in, you'd be met with a torrential downpour of bullets.

Chen Che originally wanted Chana and the others to lie low a bit longer, but it was clearly impossible now. He immediately shouted into the radio, "Can't hold on! Chana! Open fire, quick!"

Chana, watching the tense battlefield, was already at his limit, watching his brothers get injured and die, as if his heart was bleeding.

Upon hearing Chen Che's call, Chana personally manned the heavy machine gun, decisively pulling the trigger in a sweeping burst!

Almost a hundred turned backs faced Chana, caught off guard by the sudden barrage, and many bodies were riddled with countless holes.

"Damn it, there's an ambush behind us, fire at the rear!"

"Run!"

The unexpected attack from behind utterly disrupted the defenses of the gangsters and mercenaries, causing them to scatter in chaos — behavior that on the battlefield was akin to a death wish.

The casualties were incredibly severe in that instant.

Many mercenaries instinctively turned to fire at the left side again, only to be mowed down by the machine gun from behind.

The pincer attack from left and right caught them completely off guard.

Standing in the distance and seeing the situation up front, Robbie couldn't help but curse them as useless.

Picking up the radio, he remotely commanded the battlefield, shouting, "Take the heavy firepower up there and blow those two firing points! Use smoke grenades to obscure their view, hurry!"

Hearing Robbie's shout, Tasting's mercenaries immediately hauled up two RPGs, aiming at the machine gun spots on both left and right.

Watching this unfold from above, Chen Che's pupils shrank involuntarily, and he grabbed the radio, shouting, "They've got rockets, get the hell out, quick!"

Braving the hail of bullets and risking being shot, Chen Che resolutely rose, firing his gun.

A bullet grazed his shoulder, the intense pain sending his adrenaline soaring.

Yet he still managed to shoot down a mercenary carrying an RPG rocket with all his might.

But the opponent immediately replaced him, picking up the RPG rocket that had fallen to the ground, aiming it at Xia Na's machine gun position, and pulling the trigger.

The rocket roared forth, spitting fire.

Xia Na's pupils shrank as she shouted, "Run!"

Xia Na could only abandon the heavy machine gun without hesitation, grabbing two people and diving to the side.

The rocket hit the machine gun position with precision, a deafening explosion echoing for miles around.

The violent explosion sent fiery sparks, shattering the dormitory's balcony, and the concrete and steel beams were laid bare, with the cement walls scorched black.

The rest of the firing point was similarly destroyed by another RPG rocket, with the heavy machine gun blasted to pieces!

"Retreat! Fall back!"

Chen Che could only shout, "Everyone head to the warehouse, we'll fight them in alley combat inside!"

Rat-a-tat-tat!

The storm of gunfire almost drowned out Chen Che's voice, as mercenaries and gangsters pulled grenades from their back waists, hurling hundreds of them simultaneously at several firing points.

Deafening explosions thundered ceaselessly.

The eardrums seemed about to shatter from such intense blasts.

After the relentless explosions, Chen Che looked at the fierce battlefield below, unable to stop his pupils from constricting, and immediately yelled into the radio, "Is anyone alive? Are you okay?!"

A weak voice came through the radio, "Master Chen, the seventh firing point... gone... damn, an unlucky grenade landed right under me, half my body is gone, take care, Master Chen, I'll follow you in the next life..."

The radio fell silent.

Chen Che's fist clenched tightly.

Xia Na and Chana's voices came through one by one.

They were all making their way through the alleys toward the warehouse.

The firing points were all converging towards the warehouse.

Originally, there were seven firing points, each with 2 to 3 people, but now neither the seventh nor the first point had any response.

Clearly, they had already given their lives amidst the continuous gunfire.

Chen Che's hatred surged, as the battlefield below was suddenly covered in a thick smog.

The enemy had thrown numerous smoke grenades to block the view, quickly closing in on the warehouse.

Their heavy firepower had been destroyed, their rifles incapable of stopping it.

"Goddamn it!"

Chen Che cursed, looking into the distance, realizing the real meat grinder of alley combat was next, hoping reinforcements would return soon.

Rat-a-tat-tat!

Gunshots repeatedly echoed across the warehouse battlefield.

Chen Che also climbed down from the warehouse roof, beginning to maneuver through the alleys, constantly firing and throwing grenades, contending with the opposing large forces.

The remaining dozen or so of them had been extensively trained for alley combat, and this was their familiar turf, allowing them to fight back and forth here.

But the disparity in numbers was lethally critical.

Their space for survival was further compressed, as the enemy began a carpet-like advance, gradually squeezing their living space, and in no more than a dozen minutes, they'd be backed into a corner!!
