Exiled Prince: I'm the Unexpected Extra in the Novel

Chapter 94: The seven Princes of the Apocalypse

This was a game. Or at least, it had started that way.

"Child of the Dawn: Call of the Sun".

It was a realm where souls from different worlds, who had lived different, painful lives, intersected; a place where destiny was rewritten.

But they all had one thing in common: They had not come to this world of their own will.

Individuals who had lived pitiful lives in their old worlds, suffered bottomless pain, were outcast by the world, branded as useless... "Reincarnators".

They might have been nonentities in their own worlds; they might have had fragile, weak wills, lives full of hatred and regret. But in the eyes of the gods, they were raw diamonds to be cut. Or more accurately, perfect pawns.

The gods promised them a second life, endless blessings, and powers they could not even imagine.

In return, they wanted them to be their servants in this mortal world, where their own intervention was limited. They took their absolute loyalty. For one single purpose: To prevent destiny from changing.

After all, destiny was not as immutable as one might think.

Fallen angels, ancient dragons, primordial monsters that had existed since the world's creation, and most importantly, other ambitious gods who had turned their backs on the First God... They all watched for an opportunity to disrupt this world's delicate balance.

The gods, having limited intervention in this world, found their only way out in these pawns who had offered their wills and souls, in these reincarnators.

Of course, things did not always go as desired. Some exceptions, some errors in the system, always occurred.

Toven, one of the first Reincarnators summoned to this world by the gods. He was the first great error of this system. In his early days in this world, he perfectly played the role of the loyal servant carved out for him, just as the gods wished. The gods rewarded him generously for it.

But this lasted only until Toven was consumed by greed. Toven did not accept continuing his existence like a simple side character, nor the promises the gods made him (to bring back his dead family and a chance at a peaceful life in his old world).

Instead of concerning himself with the small, miserable crumbs the gods offered him, he decided to become true power itself, to become a god.

Mortal worlds and the gods who pulled mysterious strings between them... Toven questioned what reality was, and saw the only solution in transcending the mortal realm, in becoming one of those who controlled this game.

In his hundreds of years of life, he never fully achieved this goal. But today, Toven continues to work toward his ultimate goal somewhere in the deepest of shadows, under a mask that even the gods cannot perceive.

The remaining Reincarnators, meanwhile, have been managing the world from the shadows for hundreds of years, preventing destiny from going off the rails, and intervening immediately in the face of unexpected events.

Everything was under their control. The approach of the great end awaiting the world, that inevitable apocalypse, was very near.

But despite everything, the Reincarnators had received an unexpected, shocking revelation through the Holy Church.

"The Prince of Nothingness is risen from ashes and will be a second sun in the snowy world."

This revelation had upended the entire balance. Because there were six Princes chosen by the gods, known as the "Six Kings of the Apocalypse," who were supposed to protect the world's order:

The Princess of Balance – Seralya

The Prince of Curses – Umbrelion

The Princess of Lost Time – Lyria Vael

The Prince of Purity — Luin Aetherion (The Silver Haired Bastard)

The Prince of Unfading Fire - Aethrax Emberion

The Prince of Masks - Toven Miragul

But the revelation spoke of a seventh prince. Someone who should not exist. After all, for thousands of years, the gods had allowed the existence of at most six reincarnators to maintain the balance on this world.

The Seventh Prince. The Prince of Nothingness. This was a danger that developed outside the will of the gods. It was an anomaly that should not exist.

Northern Lands, Frosthelm Duchy In the highest, wind howled tower of a ruined and ancient castle.

In the center of a wide, circular hall stood a massive, round table made of obsidian. The room's ceiling had collapsed; the brutal snowstorm of the north flooded in, covering the stones on the floor with a thin layer of ice. Around the table, five magnificent figures gathered, ignoring this freezing cold.

Despite being of different races, from different countries, and of different powers, they had all gathered here for one single, urgent purpose: The latest revelation sent to them by the gods.

"The Prince of Nothingness is risen from ashes and will be a second sun in the snowy world."

When one thought about the revelation, its meaning was quite clear. The new reincarnator was in this place known as the "snowy world," in the Frosthelm Duchy.

His becoming a "second sun" was a claim to eliminate the terror and darkness brought by the Obsidian Dawn, in other words, a rebellion against the current order.

The five people at the table were the Princes of the Apocalypse. Their sixth, Toven, the Prince of Masks, was nowhere to be seen, as usual.

The first to break the silence was the man sitting at the head of the table, who had short cut silvery hair and a cold, arrogant expression on his face. Luin Aetherion, the Prince of Purity.

"The revelation is confirmed," Luin said, his voice as sharp and emotionless as the ice in the room. "A seventh entity, an anomaly, has infiltrated our system. 'The Prince of Nothingness'... A pawn acting outside the gods' will."

Luin continued, dragging his fingers across the table. "Mooncrest, Amberfield, Evershade, and finally Veythral... These four regions are currently gathering military aid for the Frosthelm Duchy.

The influx of mercenaries from all corners of the Empire continues to flow north for the sake of this 'second sun' nonsense."

At the table, a muscular man who looked to be in his thirties, with red hair, red eyes, and radiating an aura of flame, slammed his fist on the table. Aethrax Emberion, the Prince of Unfading Fire. "Then what are we discussing, Luin? The revelation even tells us the location! 'Snowy world'! On this cursed land we are sitting on right now! Our enemies continue to grow even as we speak. Let's stop wasting time, find him, and extinguish that 'second sun' before it can even rise!"

"Calm yourself, Aethrax," said a calm and elegant woman sitting directly across from Aethrax. Her face was hidden behind a thin veil, but the balance and authority in her voice could be felt.

Seralya, the Princess of Balance. "This is not about crushing a simple error. A seventh prince means a seventh will. We do not yet know if this is a plan the gods did not inform us of, or... another one of Toven's depraved games. How did he appear? Which god... or what... brought him here? We must find the answers to these questions."

"Toven's game or not, who gives a damn?" Aethrax grumbled.

"Unfortunately," Luin interjected, "this is not Toven's game this time. Because... I may have encountered the Prince of Nothingness in the past."

These words captured everyone's attention, even silencing Aethrax's anger. The Fire Prince lunged forward. "What do you mean? You met another reincarnator and didn't tell us?" His aura flared with anger, illuminating the entire room.

Luin did not lose his composure at Aethrax's reaction. "It was during our attack on the Inferna Duchy," he began to explain.

"I was there personally to confirm that everything was under control. But I sensed an unexpected aura. A chaotic aura, not belonging to this world."

"At first, I assumed it was Toven, who is a master of hiding. So I did not intervene, I just continued to watch. But in the end, I learned it was someone completely different. The aura radiating from him... I still can't get it out of my mind. It didn't belong to any race. He was both of this world, and yet not. I couldn't understand what he was."

Luin paused for a moment, as if reliving that moment. "As for how strong he was... The child had been chosen by the Crown of Madness and carried the sword of Ignis. When I found him, he was a First Star level novice brat. But suddenly, with the power of that crown, his power level reached the Eighth Star rank. He had strange abilities; he bent mana like a mage, yet fought savagely like a warrior. If he had been properly guided and had time to develop, he could have been a real threat to us."

"But," Luin added, a cold satisfaction in his voice, "he was still an amateur. His attacks were predictable, and he was no different from a wild animal consumed by his emotions. I killed him there that day. I am certain of it. But... he might still be alive somehow. Considering Toven's cockroach like survival skills, perhaps this is his new apprentice."
