Chapter 548: Uninvited Guests

"We weren't expecting guests," Daniel said calmly and indifferently as he looked at the group standing behind the door.

"We came on behalf of the Grand Priest to check the situation," said a young, handsome man with a smile on his face. There was no sign of malice in his expression.

Behind him stood two others, though their faces were blank, giving no clue what they were thinking.

"Perfect, come in," Daniel said with a small smile, stepping aside to let them enter.

The handsome young man, along with the others behind him, walked inside. They glanced around and noticed another young man smiling at them in greeting.

"We haven't seen you before. Are you new here? Or maybe the hidden guards?" Drael asked curiously.

"You could say both," a young woman replied, answering his question.

The others ignored the conversation and focused on looking around, as if searching for something.

Daniel noticed their actions but chose to ignore them. He quietly closed the door behind them. Just from seeing these people, he was already sure, they were players.

After all, each of them had the same type of energy as him and Drael. In other words, they were using the same power system and came from the same world.

At any other time, he would've tried to avoid them and not get involved, but now wasn't the time for that. He needed to move toward the temple and destroy it as soon as possible.

He couldn't afford to waste time here.

"Ever since you appeared, strange things have been happening all over the city. We just came to check and make sure everything's fine. There's no need to worry," said the handsome man named Allen, his tone calm.

"Oh? So you suspect us? That's kind of insulting—" Drael said with a frown, clearly annoyed.

Allen wanted to respond, but at that moment, a voice echoed through the room, shocking all of them.

"That's right. It was all our doing."

They turned around, their confused gazes falling on Daniel, who was standing behind them, staring coldly and indifferently, as if he were looking at a group of corpses.

For some reason, a bone-chilling cold ran down their spines, though none of them could explain why.

"What do you mean?"

"Was I unclear? It was all our doing, the first attack on the temple, spreading rumors, the riots and protests, the death of the priest, and taking control of the others."

"So it really was you... but the old man said it happened because of the Divine Bath—" Allen began, but Daniel's voice cut him off.

"That ridiculous thing? It has no effect on me." Daniel laughed, then extended his hand. A black sword appeared in his grasp.

The moment the sword appeared, the scent and aura of death filled the space. Before they could even react, the entire area was sealed.

"I'll give you one chance, leave, or die," he said coldly.

They exchanged glances, fear visible in their eyes. That aura terrified them, but retreat? Unfortunately, that wasn't an option.

"The third option, you two die," Allen said with an icy tone as he drew his spear. The others readied themselves for battle as well.

Daniel waved his hand, and the space around them shifted into a void, the perfect place to fight without holding back.

Allen glanced around and gave a cold smile. Suddenly, silver armor materialized around his body.

"He's clearly strong. We'll need to work together," he said, turning to the young woman beside him.

Laura, a woman with black hair, a purple cloak, and two silver daggers radiating wind energy, nodded firmly.

"He's alone. The other one's not a threat, and the fact he didn't bring him here means he knows he can't fight us on equal ground. Killing this man will be difficult, but we'll win," said the man who hadn't spoken until now, Crin

His black eyes heavy with power, as if he controlled the gravity of the very air around him. His expression was blank, but his words carried certainty.

To him, their victory was already decided

it would just take some effort.

Allen smirked mockingly.

"Three against one… I'll admit you're strong, but how about you surrender? Maybe we'll let you live."

Daniel shrugged carelessly, ignoring him.

"Your choice," Allen growled.

Laura was the first to move.

[Wind Shatter Step]

She vanished, leaving only a sharp gust and the sound of slicing air.

Daniel raised his sword just in time. The clash of metal echoed, sparks of white and violet scattering around them.

At that same moment, Allen swung his spear.

[Solar Thrust]

the weapon glowed with golden light, splitting the air.

Daniel twisted back, blocking the strike with his sword and deflecting it.

The shockwave blasted out, throwing Laura several meters back.

Crin calmly raised his hands.

[Gravity Pulse]

an intense pressure filled the air. Daniel felt his body grow heavier, his movements slower.

Just then, Laura attacked from behind.

[Gale Slash]

Two dagger strikes imbued with sharp wind came for his neck.

Daniel smoothly deflected both with a twist of his blade, but Allen launched another attack immediately after.

Three directions, three lethal strikes.

The aura of death around Daniel erupted.

With a single full spin, he unleashed a wave of black energy

[Strike Of Destruction]

Light and darkness collided in the void, exploding into pure energy.

Thick smoke filled the air, but no one had fallen yet.

Laura, panting, said, "He's… faster than I thought."

Allen stared seriously at Daniel. "He blocked all three attacks just by defending."

Daniel lowered his sword.

"If that's all you've got… then you're really disappointing."

Crin growled and moved.

[Crushing Orbit]

waves of gravity burst around Daniel, compressing the air. His sword suddenly felt heavier than mountain.

Daniel took a step back, breathing calmly. The deathly aura spread again, like a dark mist.

Allen saw his chance.

[Lance of Dawn]

his spear flared with golden light, shooting like a comet toward Daniel.

At the same time, Laura activated [Cyclone Dive], forming a razor-sharp tornado around him.

Daniel raised his sword, and in an instant, the darkness around him condensed.

[Demonic Twilight Shield]

a black and crimson barrier appeared, absorbing all the incoming energy.

The spear and wind vanished on impact, leaving only a deafening shockwave behind.

Allen jumped back, his face tightening.

"What kind of skill is that? Such demonic energy…!"

Daniel took a step forward, his gaze as cold as ice.

"I told you, you can't hunt me."

He vanished.

[Bloody Shadow Dance]

his shadow split through space, appearing behind Crin.

The sword came down from above, but at the last moment, Allen threw himself forward, blocking it with his spear.

Black and golden sparks exploded around them.

The three stepped back while Daniel stood still, his sword resting on his shoulder as he yawned.

"It's almost night. Guess it's about time I got serious."
