Awakening The Only SSS-Rank Class! Now Even Dragons Obey Me

Chapter 649: Your Pride Will Destroy You

Azrael stood still.

He could not continue like this. If this went on, he would lose… no. In truth, he had already lost, and it was only a matter of time before it became obvious.

He did not want to admit it, but this monster was not something he could face alone. His eyes turned bloodshot for a moment.

Him! The great Crown Prince of the demon continent, the future Demon King! Was he really being defeated by a human? And not just any human, but a low, nameless one?

It was ridiculous. Laughable.

If the high authorities of the demon continent learned about this, he would lose all legitimacy for his current position. At that point, he would never be able to raise his head before his father again and would have to endure eternal humiliation.

The more he thought about it, the more certain he became.

He must not lose. He could not lose.

"There's only one way."

He did not want to use that trump card unless he was forced to. Unfortunately, he had no other choice.

Even if he had to pay a huge price, it would be worth it.

He stabbed his three-headed spear into the ground. For a moment, silence fell.

Then he laughed.

A quiet, short laugh, filled with controlled madness.

"…Did you think I became the Crown Prince of demons just because of a title?"

Daniel frowned. Something in the space changed. Azrael placed a hand on his chest.

[ Heir of the First Abyss ]

His heart beat—not a natural heartbeat, but a pulse synchronized with the depths of hell itself. His power surged explosively.

Not twice. Not three times.

The quality of his power changed.

His spear began to transform.

The three heads stretched and twisted, and ancient symbols were carved along each blade.

[ Spear of Infernal Succession ]

This was no longer just a weapon.

It was a declaration.

Daniel took a step back.

He was not afraid, but he suddenly felt an overwhelming pressure. A terrifying aura burst out from Azrael's body, strong enough to make even Daniel's body tremble.

Azrael vanished.

[ Abyssal Sovereign Step ]

Space folded and unfolded beneath him. The spear came down from above. Daniel raised his sword.

Their weapons collided, but this time Daniel's arm shook. The ground collapsed hundreds of meters away.

He was pushed back.

For the first time in this battle, Daniel felt his soul tremble.

"…What the fuck did you do?"

Azrael pressed the attack. Blow after blow.

The spear moved like a snake, each motion sealing off every escape path.

[ Dominion of the Black Throne ]

The space around Daniel grew heavy. His movements slowed, not physically, but conceptually.

Daniel clenched his teeth.

[ Eternal Deny. ]

For a moment, the pressure cracked, but Azrael did not retreat.

[ Hell-End Oath ]

The spear glowed. Each strike consumed a part of his own existence, but in exchange, his attacks became more absolute.

Sword and spear clashed dozens of times. The sparks were neither light nor fire, but fragments of meaning being shattered.

Daniel was hit. His shoulder split open, blood flowing. He immediately activated Mana Healing, but he could feel that his recovery was slower.

Azrael smiled.

"Human, you should be proud. You forced me to use this. You are only the second person who has ever pushed me this far."

"Crushing a demon isn't something to be proud of," Daniel replied.

"Haha. As I said, pride leads only to destruction," the Crown Prince mocked.

"I don't like hearing that from one of the most arrogant beings alive."

"I am not arrogant. This is simply reality. A demon, especially one like me, should not lose to a human. That is the reality of creation."

"We'll see," Daniel said coldly.

[ Death Roar. ]

Mental waves fired out. Azrael froze for a brief moment, his mind stopping completely.

That moment was enough.

Daniel stepped forward. He coated his sword with two laws.

In the past, he often created new skills by combining laws, but he had not done so in a long time.

Now was the time.

[ Eternal Thunder Burial ]

Endless lightning, sealed within eternity, condensed onto the blade.

The strike came down.

Azrael was blown back. His energy armor cracked.

He coughed but remained standing.

"…So this is it."

Daniel continued his assault.

[ Scar of Endless Death ]

A calm, precise strike that carved a wound—not on the body, but on the future itself.

Azrael felt it.

Not pain.

Inability to regenerate.

His expression hardened. The wound did not heal.

The battle continued, but now Daniel controlled the pace. Even so, he was borrowing power from his Fallen ones, and that was how he reclaimed dominance.

Azrael retreated. Then retreated again.

Until his spear trembled.

He dropped to one knee. The ground beneath him shattered. Daniel held his sword at his throat.

The aura of eternity swirled around the blade.

It was enough.

One strike, and the Crown Prince of demons would die.

"I told you," Daniel said mockingly. "You're too arrogant, demon."

Azrael's face went cold. But before he could say anything, he suddenly felt his blood boiling, as if reacting to something.

Mockery appeared in his eyes.

Daniel hesitated. Had this Crown Prince gone insane? Killing him would not be easy, and the consequences were unpredictable. After all, he was the Crown Prince.

But in that instant, space froze.

Movement, sound, even the flow of mana stopped for a fraction of a second.

Then a rift appeared, a crack torn through reality itself.

From it stepped out an old demon. He had two black horns and a hunched, bent body. No aura was coming from him, yet with his mere presence, the surrounding space itself warped.

His dark eyes glanced at the Crown Prince for a moment, then carefully examined the entire situation in the valley. In the end, his gaze settled on Daniel.

Upon seeing that old demon, the Crown Prince began to laugh madly.

"Haha! Human, I told you! Your pride will destroy you!"

Daniel trembled.

Not his body, but his soul.

A feeling told him that this being was his death.
