The Growth of a God

Chapter 15: Human Shaped God · Yayu (4/5)

Looking at the blood monster that remained energetic despite being besieged by A Ke and a group of Second Generation Skeletons.

Li Hao, from a god's perspective, fell silent.

The strength of that blood monster clearly exceeded the scope of ordinary creatures.

Especially when reinforcements Peng Bo and He Li joined the battlefield but still couldn't deliver a fatal blow, everyone realized the terror of this blood monster.

It's important to know that with A Ke and He Li, two Ascenders.

The power now besieging the blood monster was essentially a battle of the highest combat strength within the Mountain and Sea Realm, without the gods participating.

Thinking of this, Li Hao suddenly refocused his attention on the Dragon Head.

As an Apostle who controls the "storm", this was the first time Li Hao felt such intense emotional fluctuations from the Dragon Head.

Under this intense emotional fluctuation, Li Hao didn't even need to deliberately sense it to easily hear the other's inner voice.

.........................................................

"It really is Yayu."

After a long silence, a majestic voice echoed above the altar.

The Dragon-headed Giant, slowly rising, sat silently within the storm, his gaze fixed on the distant City of Remains.

Past memories began to appear in the Dragon-headed Giant's mind, bringing back memories about Yayu and some rebellious actions of the Dragon Race.

A long, long time ago, so long that it was before the Dragon-headed Giant had completed the grand task of Godslaying.

At that time, the Dragon Race was at the height of civilization, brimming with genius-like ideas and creativity, exploring fields guaranteed to offend the gods.

The Artificial God, or the "Human shaped God Plan," was proposed during this period.

It's important to note that even though the Dragon Race was naturally talented, not every member could become an Ascender.

Among the Dragon Race fortunate enough to become Ascenders, less than one in a hundred could cross that long staircase and raise the Divine Throne.

Under such harsh and challenging conditions, the Dragon Race decided to pool the entire race's strength to explore and create a shortcut to Divine Investiture.

So, this group of crazy Dragons first found the biological genetic material that the Candle Dragon left in the Mountain and Sea Realm before transforming into a god.

Then they artificially replicated the Candle Dragon's "incarnation" based on these genetic structures.

This was the original Yayu—a demigod with a human face and serpent body.

To be honest, Yayu's positioning is quite special.

Although born with the power of gods, he was not a naturally conceived elf.

Yet, if you claim Yayu to be a True God, he has not transcended life's dimension, as the destruction of his body and soul equates to his demise.

Most crucially, Yayu's birth did not receive the Candle Dragon's approval.

Yayu was a "replica" made by the Dragon Race without the Candle Dragon's knowledge, using the genetic information from Candle Dragon's life, not even considered a legitimate offspring.

Next, to further research the shortcut to Divine Investiture.

The Dragons began conducting more experiments and research on Yayu.

This included imitating the most primal Natural Gods, forcing Yayu to bear the Power of Faith with his half-god body, transforming the Power of Faith into Divine Power.

Creating a false object of worship, creating a false Natural God...

When Yayu used his Divine Body to bear this Power of Faith, an entity similar to a "Living Totem" was born.

Yayu was not a Blessing God, because he possessed both a Divine Body and could wield Divine Power.

Yayu was also not the Candle Dragon's incarnation, because he had his own will, free from any god's interference.

If Li Hao had to give an evaluation, he would consider Yayu's existence closer to a Saint after the gods fell from their dimension.

Unfortunately, Yayu, this Saint, wasn't born naturally, but was a "counterfeit" created by the Dragon Race.

What happened afterward was quite similar to what Li Hao learned from the Classic of Mountains and Seas.

When the Candle Dragon discovered Yayu's existence, he punished all the Dragons involved in the research, but spared Yayu's existence.

Regarding Yayu's existence, the Candle Dragon chose silent acceptance.

From that day on, Yayu became an exceptionally unique member of the Mountain and Sea Dragon Race—a Living Totem, an incarnation of a god, and a descendant of the Candle Dragon.

This continued until Yayu was killed and transformed into the all-devouring monster—Yuyu.

The human-faced serpent-bodied Yayu died, and the dragon-headed beast-bodied Yuyu was born.

What exactly happened in between, Dragon Head didn't inquire, so it's unclear.

After all, before Dragon Head received the mission to subdue Yuyu, he had only heard the name at best.

If not for the mission to stop Yuyu from ravaging the Mountain and Sea Realm, Dragon Head believed he wouldn't have ever intersected with him in his lifetime.

That great war was the most memorable and the most difficult battle Dragon Head experienced before accomplishing the grand task of Godslaying.

Fortunately, the result in the end was satisfying.

Although Yuyu possessed an almost god-like Immortal Body, he ultimately couldn't withstand the entire Dragon Race's power.

As for how the high-ranking Dragons dealt with Yuyu afterward?

Dragon Head, who was just a "pioneer" in the battle, wasn't too clear.

The only certainty was that Yuyu's ultimate handling was definitely at a higher seal level than his own.

Even the technology related to creating Yayu was marked as "forbidden," absolutely not allowing any tribe member to touch it.

"It seems now, the elders didn't entirely abandon studying Yayu's abilities."

With a soft sigh, Dragon Head had never felt the passage of time so clearly.

In the blink of an eye, millions of years have passed, and the existence once deemed "forbidden" by the Dragon Race has reappeared.

But this time, the once-flourishing civilization of the Mountain and Sea Dragon Race had quietly vanished.

"However, even if you reappear, what of it?"

"I am no longer the me of the past, and you are not the you of the past either."

A trace of the battle spirit flashed in the arrogant eyes, as the Dragon Head noticeably sensed the blood within him boiling.

"You are the Human shaped God, and I am the Original Apostle."

"Let me see who among us is truly the 'strongest dragon' now!"

Whispering thus, Dragon Head's mountain-like colossal body began to rise slowly, while the surrounding storm began to calm.

Roar!

The storm swept across the earth, and dark clouds covered the sky...

The sun's light was completely obscured at this moment, replaced by a sense of impending storm and tranquility.

Li Hao's strongest Apostle—the Dragon Head—for the first time stepped out from the fallen Sky City without receiving a Divine Oracle.
