Beast Taming: the More the Better

Chapter 255: Tide of Snakes! How about letting me try?

This was an extremely bright world.

If it weren't for the familiar sensation of space traversal, Su Ping wouldn't have felt any change in his surroundings at first.

It was still a clear blue sky, with the warm sunshine pouring down, the boundless ocean, and the islands within it—except that this "island" was even smaller than before, there really was nothing different.

Indeed, this was the interior of the Tidal Secret Realm.

Su Ping and the other four members of the Qintian Monitor were on a small island about a hundred and twenty square meters in size, floating on the surface of the water.

Apart from the land under their feet, everything else was water.

And on this so-called island, there wasn't even a single blade of grass.

Clearly, this was a pure Water Element Secret Realm.

Su Ping curiously sized up his surroundings while the few people beside him had already taken their positions in the shortest time, standing at the four corners around him, enclosing him in the center while their Pet Beasts appeared in front of them.

Su Ping was taken aback and looked at them oddly.

"Um, don't we need to go into the water?"

He was already prepared for underwater combat.

The Five Elements Paper Diagram he had purposely brought along was summoned from the Beast Taming Space.

But looking at this setup, it seems somewhat different from what I expected?

The four of them were also startled. Then the leading man, who looked to be in his thirties with a stern face, showed a somewhat ill-fitting smile.

"It's normal for Breeder Su to not be very familiar with how we at the Qintian Monitor operate. Ordinary Secret Realms are different from Heritage Secret Realms."

"If it is a Heritage Secret Realm with specific entry requirements, one needs to complete the tasks left by deceased Beast Tamers to obtain the inheritance. Then indeed, within this Secret Realm, you would have to find the place to complete the Secret Realm's inheritance."

"However, it's different with ordinary Secret Realms. How many legacy beasts and Ferocious Beasts are born inside, as well as their distribution, is unknown to anyone. So, for convenience, we use certain methods to concentrate these Ferocious Beasts and Pet Beasts together and then deal with them all at once."

Su Ping nodded. So this is knowledge one wouldn't know without joining the Qintian Monitor, he thought, then nodded again with admiration.

"I see. It's no wonder that it's the largest Secret Realm exploration organization in the Dragon Nation. It's truly incredible. I have much to learn."

His exclamation and praise were quite direct, yet they induced a trace of smiles on the previously indifferent faces of the four Qintian Monitor Beast Tamers.

Protecting Young Master Su into the Secret Realm, although he was one of their own and also responsible for destroying the realm, it was human nature to feel discomfort given the instructions from Sang Sheng and their own boss.

However, they also knew just what Young Master Su was capable of.

Because of this, his sincere praise and commendations made all four of them feel quite pleased.

Especially following Su Ping's next question, they weren't as dismissive and unresponsive anymore.

"How are we supposed to attract those Ferocious Beasts from within the Secret Realm?"

With his eyes blinking, Su Ping looked towards the other four.

This time, another young man with a scarred face chuckled.

"That depends on what type of Secret Realm we're entering. For example, this time we've entered a Water Element Secret Realm, and Water Element Pet Beasts have the keenest sense of water. Breeder Su, if you have experience with fishing, you'll know that aside from the bait on the fishing rod, one also needs to lay groundbait. So, if we want to attract the Pet Beasts from the water in this Secret Realm, we just need to lay the groundbait properly."

As he finished speaking, the young man pulled out a plastic box the size of a fist—not only did he do so, the others followed suit.

"This is 'Pungent Fish Oil,' a groundbait fragrance made from the scent gland of a Monarch Level Pet Beast, 'Scent-Leaving Swine,' and many other resources. It can attract underwater Pet Beasts to the highest degree..."

Su Ping nodded. This knowledge is indeed very useful, he thought, especially now, as I want to replan the Heart of Water within the Heart of Myriad Spirits.

However, this also led to another question:

"If we attract a large number of Pet Beasts and Ferocious Beasts, can we handle them?"

As soon as he said this, a bald man who had been fiddling with an iron box let out a loud laugh.

"Breeder Su, just relax and stand behind us later on, HAHAHA! No matter how many little fish come, I'll blow them all away! You just watch how I fry fish!"

As he said that, the man had already taken out two cannon-like Mechanical Weapons from the iron box.

Su Ping nodded. In wide-range and relatively low-end battles, Mechanical Weapons indeed hold a significant advantage, saving Energy for Pet Beast combat, he mused.

The four men slowly opened the plastic boxes. An unmistakable, peculiar fishy aroma wafted out, and then they tossed them directly into the water.

The fragrance spread. Laying groundbait would take some time before the schools of fish would arrive. The four people each took up positions on the four sides of the small island, chatting leisurely with Su Ping, who was sitting in the middle.

Through this brief interaction, they came to understand this Young Master Su to a certain extent.

He wasn't haughty like they thought a second-generation rich kid would be; instead, he was quite affable and asked questions about anything he didn't understand. He was extremely pleasant, changing their initial impressions.

"Breeder Su, that Shield in your hand, is it one of your Pet Beasts? Is it an Instrument Type Pet Beast? HAHAHA, it looks as if it's made of paper."
