The Forensic Doctor Better Than a Detective

Chapter 134: Return to the Scene of Death

"Mr. Li!"

"Mr. Li!"

It wasn't until he heard Zhang Yean's two calls in his ear that Li Jian came back to his senses.

She softly asked, "Mr. Li, what are you thinking about? So engrossed."

Li Jian's face was solemn as he turned and said, "Wan just called and said Zhang Biao was an abandoned child by his biological parents; they haven't found his biological parents."

Jiang An asked, "Is he married?"

"If he were married, his child's and wife's blood could also be used for identification comparison."

Li Jian shook his head.

"He has always been single, never married."

Zhang Yean also looked disappointed.

"If there are no relatives, then there's no way to biologically confirm the deceased's true identity."

Jiang An nodded.

"From a biological perspective, it's best to compare using a relative's blood sample."

"But if there's no relative's blood sample, we can only compare with items Zhang Biao used in his lifetime."

Li Jian looked around and said, "Wan's investigation said that the people who adopted Zhang Biao have passed away, and the old family house was demolished."

"Moreover, this place was also burned black, where to find items he used while alive."

Zhang Yean spread her hands and said, "Exactly! Trying to find Zhang Biao's personal belongings here is nearly impossible."

Suddenly, Li Jian recalled the words Mr. Zhang said earlier.

Some small personal items might be placed in a tin locker.

Li Jian excitedly said, "There's a way!"

"When we came in, there was a tin locker at the entrance, each security guard uses their own."

"Maybe there will be something inside that locker!"

Immediately, the three of them went to the security office area.

Zhang Yean took out a tissue and wiped the locker.

The tin locker, originally covered in a layer of dust, revealed white paint.

Quickly, on the first row on the right, a label was stuck on the locker door with the words "Zhang Biao."

Zhang Yean took out her phone and quickly turned around and said, "Mr. Li, I'll call the two seniors responsible for the scene investigation yesterday and have them bring the key over."

Seeing this important discovery, Li Jian was very excited inside.

He said, "No need! Let's just pry the door open."

Suddenly, Zhang Yean looked at Mr. Li incredulously.

In the five years since coming to the criminal investigation team, Zhang Yean had never seen Li Jian so forceful.

This time, he must really be anxious.

Then, Li Jian pulled open a nearby drawer and found a flat screwdriver.

Two minutes later.

With a "click" sound, the tin locker was pried open.

Compared to the outside, which was covered in a layer of dust, the inside of the tin locker was very clean.

There was only a slight bit of soot in the closing of the locker door.

Inside the tin locker, there was an opened white liquor bottle box, and a packet of loose snacks.

Li Jian turned and said, "We should be able to lift fingerprints from this liquor bottle, have a closer look later."

Zhang Yean replied, "There might not be much value in the liquor's outer packaging."

"After all, many people come in contact with it—from the manufacturer, to the transporter, to the seller."

"But not many people touch the liquor bottle, it might offer good testing conditions."

"If the deceased poured the liquor himself, there will surely be fingerprint traces on the bottle."

As they spoke, Zhang Yean took out a pair of gloves from her clothes pocket and put them on.

Then, she reached out and picked up the glass liquor bottle.

Suddenly, next to the white liquor label on the glass bottle, a faint light red color could be seen.

She exclaimed, "Mr. Li, there seems to be bloodstains here."

"Bloodstains?"

"Bloodstains?"

Li Jian and Jiang An hurriedly came over.

Indeed, under the white glass bottle, there were faint red bloodstains near the label.

Zhang Yean asked in surprise, "How can a newly purchased liquor bottle have bloodstains?"

Li Jian speculated, "This is not simple, it's very likely he cut his hand while drinking."

"Then, when he grabbed the bottle again, the bloodstain stuck to it."

Suddenly, after hearing this, Zhang Yean cheerfully said, "This is Zhang Biao's locker, meaning this is Zhang Biao's liquor."

Following this line of thought, Zhang Yean was extremely excited inside.

"This bloodstain should come from the deceased, Zhang Biao, himself."

Li Jian was also excited, "If we match this bloodstain with the gene of the White Bone, it can indirectly prove the deceased is Zhang Biao."

Then, Li Jian and Zhang Yean simultaneously looked at Jiang An.

Jiang An said in a deep voice, "The premise of this indirect proof is that the blood on the bottle was left by Zhang Biao himself."

Li Jian smilingly said, "No problem! The liquor was put in Zhang Biao's locker, and the bloodstain is on the bottle, not the liquor's outer packaging."

"From the position of the bloodstain, it should be Zhang Biao's blood."

"Truly, after all the twists and turns, there is hope in the end!"

"This bloodstain is simply invaluable."

Then, Li Jian instructed, "Zhang Yean, later take this bloodstain to the forensic laboratory, make sure to be cautious."

"Mr. Li, rest assured, I will complete the task."

After a brief pause, Zhang Yean said, "Captain, if we can prove that the bloodstain on the bottle came from Zhang Biao, then the fingerprints on the side of the bottle would also be his."

"Earlier, we collected fingerprints from everyone at the site, but we haven't collected Zhang Biao's."

Li Jian nodded and said, "Yes, this idea is very good."

"If the fingerprints on the bottle have no relation to the fingerprints on the knife handle, we can rule out Zhang Biao's connection to Liu Jun's death case."
