"Even if a blunt strip object is used for hitting, it doesn't necessarily cause immediate bleeding."
"Moreover, even if there's localized bleeding in the scalp from the hitting, the hair serves as a barrier between the scalp and the tool."
"In such cases, it's extremely difficult to create a substantial amount of bloodstains on the tool."
"Furthermore, given that this case has been over a month and a half old, any bloodstains even if present, are likely to be inconspicuous."
After hearing Jiang An's explanation, the others thought for a moment and nodded in agreement.
Zhang Yean, who was always contemplative, curiously asked, "If there's no bloodstain on the murder weapon, how do we determine it?"
Once she spoke, everyone turned their eyes back to Jiang An.
The youngest officer became the linchpin for solving the case.
In Jiangcheng, Jiang An is the hope of the criminal investigation team.
In Han City, Jiang An remains the hope of the criminal investigation team.
After a brief pause, Jiang An's gaze became more resolute as he firmly said, "As long as there's contact, there must be exchange of materials. This is Locard's principle of exchange."
"If the chair in the bedroom is the murder weapon, besides bloodstains, it will certainly leave other material evidence."
Jiang An finally said, "Mr. Li, we must retrieve the chair from the deceased's home and carefully examine it to identify any evidence."
After completing the examination of the head wound, Jiang An set down his tools and moved to the deceased's two feet.
He bent down to scrutinize the deceased woman's soles.
"Mr. Zhao, did the forensic team clean the deceased's feet during the first autopsy?"
Mr. Zhao shook his head.
"I don't recall any cleaning."
Jiang An murmured to himself, "Since there was no cleaning, it indicates the deceased woman's soles are relatively clean."
At this moment, Li Hongbing, Mr. Zhao, Zhang Yean, and Wan also approached the location of the deceased's feet.
Li Hongbing glanced over and asked, "Does the cleanliness of the deceased's soles indicate anything?"
Jiang An's mind recalled the scene's environment again.
After one minute, he said deeply, "The crime scene is in the countryside, consisting of three tileroof houses, and with lots of dust on the ground."
"Coupled with the deceased woman's sandals placed neatly beside the bed, showing no signs of being worn."
"The cleanliness of the deceased woman's soles fully demonstrates that she didn't move around indoors for long periods."
Upon hearing this, others nodded in agreement.
This straightforward deductive process was clear to everyone.
Mr. Zhao asked, "Are you implying that the deceased woman was struck to death while sleeping?"
Jiang An shook his head.
He pointed at the deceased woman's sole.
"Although her soles appear clean, upon closer inspection, there are still tiny particles of dust."
"Thus, I deduce that the deceased woman's feet did touch the ground, but not for a long duration."
"Moreover, the bloodstains on the ground in the bedroom strongly suggest that when the deceased woman's head was injured, she should have been in an upright state."
While speaking, an image flashed through Jiang An's mind: the deceased woman had just gotten up from bed and was killed.
Yet, Jiang An hadn't figured out how the murderer found the murder weapon at the time.
Was the chair nearby?
Or was it brought from elsewhere?
After examining the deceased woman's two feet, Jiang An circled the corpse.
The focus of this reexamining of the corpse was on specific critical parts.
However, when he returned to the woman's head, he suddenly discovered a white fibrous material at the corner of her mouth.
Instantly, his eyes brightened, and he took tweezers and a glass bottle from the forensic tool kit.
This equipment is specifically designed to extract trace evidence from corpses.
Seeing Jiang An's actions, Li Hongbing hastily approached.
"Mr. Jiang, have you found something new again?"
Jiang An looked serious and nodded.
He said, "Senior, could you please take a photo with the camera?"
"Alright!"
Soon, Zhang Yean came over holding the camera. Curious, she glanced and asked, "Where to shoot?"
Jiang An pointed with the tweezers.
"Here!"
Zhang Yean observed closely, "Nothing much really, just documenting the lips?"
Then Jiang An brought the tweezers even closer.
"Senior, there's a white fiber in this spot."
At Jiang An's prompt, Zhang Yean began to observe purposefully.
She leaned in to take a closer look.
Suddenly, she exclaimed excitedly, "Oh my! You discovered such a tiny piece of evidence?"
Immediately afterward, Zhang Yean lifted the camera, focused the lens, and pressed the shutter.
With a "click," a worm-like fiber was captured in the camera.
After recording, Jiang An picked up the tweezers and carefully approached.
Holding his breath, he feared the air currents might blow away the white fiber.
One minute later, Jiang An finally transferred the fiber into a transparent glass bottle.
He let out a deep breath, "Thankfully, nothing unexpected happened."
At this point, Li Hongbing and Mr. Zhao could see clearly.
The two exchanged glances and nodded at each other.
Then, Mr. Zhao raised his thumb, "Mr. Jiang, indeed your vision is sharp."
"I, Zhao, truly admire you, admire you!"
Li Hongbing looked at Jiang An, his eyes full of appreciation.
Initially, he was skeptical about Jiang An's strong ability in solving cases.
Considering that solving cases in criminal investigation relies heavily on experience, it seemed unlikely for a young officer who recently started working to have such a robust ability.
However, now Li Hongbing fully understood.
Setting other things aside, just the discovery of that tiny fiber alone shows that Jiang An's ability to solve cases has surpassed over 90% of his peers.
