The Forensic Doctor Better Than a Detective

Chapter 175: Searching for a Breakthrough!

Upon hearing this person's name, Mr. Zhao pondered for a long time.

This middle school student had just been interrogated.

Could Jiang An have made a major discovery in these brief minutes?

Mr. Zhao's face showed a look of doubt.

However, considering the role Jiang An had played in the case investigation, he quickly took a couple of drags on his cigarette and flicked the butt into the trash can.

Immediately after, Mr. Zhao quickly headed toward the Criminal Investigation Team's conference room.

As he arrived at the conference room door, he saw Jiang An walking out with Wang Chuang.

Their eyes met, and they both nodded to each other.

Five minutes later, inside the Criminal Investigation Team's conference room.

Wang Chuang sat opposite the two once again, but his face showed no sign of nervousness.

Mr. Zhao turned his head and glanced at Jiang An, "Mr. Jiang, I've already interrogated this student earlier; I'll let you lead the next round of questioning."

Jiang An nodded and asked, "Is he someone who practices martial arts?"

Wang Chuang looked at Jiang An with a blank expression.

"What?"

Jiang An extended his right hand, clenched his fingers together, and made a fist.

Wang Chuang looked up and immediately lowered his hands.

"What?"

"Did I hit the mark?"

"The scars on the back of your hand aren't small; they weren't formed in just one instance, right?"

Jiang An asked his three questions slowly, without any detectable emotion.

Wang Chuang slightly raised his head and said in a deep voice, "I sometimes practice boxing after school."

"The school doesn't forbid boxing, does it?"

Jiang An smiled and said, "Of course, there's no rule against boxing."

"If boxing is for fitness, that's certainly great."

"However, if you're boxing to do something illegal, then that's a problem."

Wang Chuang argued, "I admit my studies aren't good, but I'd never do anything illegal."

"Really?"

As he spoke, Jiang An stared intently at Wang Chuang.

He immediately replied, "Absolutely true!"

After a slight pause, Jiang An asked in a deep voice, "Do you know about the elderly couple murdered in the east end of your village?"

Wang Chuang gently nodded.

"I've heard about it!"

Jiang An asked, "Who do you think the murderer could be?"

"Solving the case is your job; how would I know?"

Then, Jiang An said slowly, "You are the murderer!"

"Me?"

"Officer, are you joking with me?"

Wang Chuang asked with a wry smile.

Jiang An looked serious, "Do you think I'm joking?"

Then he dropped the key information directly.

"You punched the elderly man's jaw, causing his jawbone to fracture."

"And we know you did it to rob money."

Instantly, the entire interrogation room fell silent.

A young criminal suspect and two criminal investigation officers stared at each other.

After a long silence, Wang Chuang spoke, "I don't know what you're talking about."

"You know!"

"You know very well!"

"You are the murderer!"

As he spoke, Jiang An stood up and slowly walked toward him.

Wang Chuang kept his eyes fixed on Jiang An, unconsciously clenching his hands together, and his legs were trembling a bit under the table.

Sitting across, Mr. Zhao observed everything, even more convinced of Jiang An's thinking.

Wang Chuang indeed was suspicious!

Right after, Mr. Zhao also said in a deep voice, "Look at the words beside you: leniency to those who confess, severity to those who resist."

"I advise you to be honest and not resist recklessly."

"You're still a minor; if you confess in time, you might be treated leniently."

After that, Wang Chuang lowered his head silently, hands clasped together.

The interrogation room fell into silence once more.

Waiting!

Waiting!

Both Jiang An and Mr. Zhao were waiting.

Two minutes later, Wang Chuang lifted his head and said, "Officer, don't accuse good people wrongly."

"I only heard about the death of that old couple; as for anything else, I'm not sure."

Upon hearing it, Mr. Zhao glared angrily, practically boiling with rage.

"You won't cry until you see the coffin."

"And to think you've received formal education."

Despite Mr. Zhao's agitation, Wang Chuang kept his head down and remained silent.

Seeing this, Jiang An thought to himself, the suspicion on him was great.

However, he didn't have solid evidence in hand.

The marks of healing and regeneration on the knuckles were not enough to prove his criminal suspicion.

The next step must be to find more compelling evidence.

After pondering for a long time, Jiang An raised his hand and patted Mr. Zhao's shoulder, indicating they should step outside.

Before long, the two of them exited the interrogation room.

In the hallway, Mr. Zhao kicked a chair with his foot.

"It was definitely this kid!"

"Still being stubborn."

Jiang An nodded, saying, "He probably suspects we don't have any solid evidence."

Mr. Zhao, full of anger, "Even if there's no evidence, from my many years of criminal investigation and interrogation experience, it's clear that he's one of the culprits."

Jiang An advised again, "We must find evidence no matter what!"

Mr. Zhao pulled out a cigarette and lit it, smoking continuously.

"Mr. Jiang, to be honest, before you arrived, we had already reviewed all the details of the case multiple times."

"But unfortunately, there's not a single valuable clue."

"That's why we're so passive."

Standing in the hallway, Jiang An furrowed his brows, lost in thought.

In any homicide case, there are two opposing sides.

One is the suspect, the other is the victim.

Han City Criminal Investigation initially focused the investigation around the two victims.

It's safe to say, all the information regarding the victims has been entirely excavated.
