The Glorious Evolution

Chapter 388: I Object.

Many Daywalkers nodded in agreement, knowing that only a few Gamemasters cared about the earnings from the stream... like Gamemaster Sparks, who was busted for not paying his taxes and got punished to host low-ranked Death Games.

The majority would do anything for higher viewership in their games so they could get promoted to a higher graded tier... of course, as long as everything was within the rules.

This game's rules were within reason... it was up to each faction to decide if they wanted to secure the win and save their lives, or risk everyone's lives for the sake of coming out on top of everyone else in the game.

"Money or viewership... their reasoning has nothing to do with us." Dominic said sternly, "What I need from you is to work together to secure the win... Our opponents might be nightcrawler nests inhabiting our planet, but most of their main force are mercenaries under the Duskbound Order's payment... They are not your regular nightcrawlers you see on the streets... the average power level of the game is enough proof."

Hearing this, everyone glanced at the insane average power in the game... 49 N implied that a few monsters had crossed the average Solarbound rank's entry power level even without being officially one.

Although this was scary on its own, it wasn't out of the norm in such events. As long as one wasn't a Solarbound/Tier 5, raw strength alone didn't truly matter. Having a Dominion was considered the only real cheat when dealing with lower ranks... without it, everything was fair game, even if the power gap was monstrous. After all, it was harder to balance such team-based games compared to the Nocturnal Ring, where everyone was acting solo.

"The top four teams of the Conqueror's faction are bound to be involved in this game." Tyrese knitted his brows, "If we were to win against them and they had no resignation tokens, our chances of winning the Great Campaign would increase substantially."

"That's why we need to work together to focus on the win before anything else." Levi agreed, "We will secure our slots in the final tournament, and we will have removed most of the troubling nightcrawlers... Individual rewards, as great as they sound, are nothing but a trap that will lead us to a collective fall into the abyss."

Arthur, Jasmine, and the others supported him with solemn head nods... even Guo Shi, Li Mei, and the rest of Yanhuan showed their approval.

No one wanted to die, and in a death game that involved two large teams of thirty-six members all fighting on a giant spinning rope, they simply could not afford to have infighting among them.

After all, they would have nowhere to run with their backs left in the open for their teammates to guard... they could not trust each other with such heavy responsibility unless everyone was on the same page.

"That's the right spirit." Dominic smiled in approval.

If it were up to him, he would have made everyone sign a contract that forbade them from acting against each other or prioritizing their personal score over the faction's overall score... alas, the CRS Platform would never give them such an opportunity.

Since Nocturn was a big player in the foundation of the CRS Platform, if they wanted such types of contracts banned from their platform, it was considered done.

"Even if there is no infighting, this game still sounds tough..." Jojo commented with a solemn tone, "I can't imagine how we're supposed to fight on top of a spinning giant rope without the ability to fly for more than three seconds... one mistake, and we are done for."

"I don't see any rule about latching onto the rope... so maybe, we can tie ourselves for extra safety?" Arthur wondered.

"Don't be foolish." Jojo rolled her eyes, "The rope is bound to be as thick and wide as a building with an unbreakable surface... I doubt anyone can tie themselves."

"Even if there was such a possibility, how can we fight comfortably while tied down?" Shia shared gloomily.

"No need for speculations... this type of game has been hosted before."

Dominic showed them the links to multiple game designs that were similar to theirs.

"I want you to study them for today... Tomorrow, we will be using the Solar Aegis Sanctuary's private territory in the Boundless Expanse to train using the same map and format."

No one was surprised by this... although the Solar Aegis Sanctuary wouldn't bother investing in hiring mercenary Raiders to help them out, they would still offer them the best environment for their training.

Most importantly... training in the Boundless Expanse implied having two weeks to prepare compared to one week on Earth.

"Now... before we can launch the training, do any of you have a problem with Levi acting as our faction's captain?" Dominic asked calmly, "This is your last chance to contest the decision... once it is made, you will be under the authority of Levi from tomorrow until the end of the Faction Event."

Arthur and the girls swiftly switched their gazes to the other teams... most of them had a daring look, wanting nothing more than to have one of them rise to the occasion so their captain could shatter their hopes once and for all.

After training with Levi in the past month, they realized just how big a chasm there was between them... and they wanted the others to see it too, so no one would question his orders later on.

"Nah... I am good." Tyrese waved his hand lazily, "Levi is one of our own... I won't trust anyone with my life besides him and ponytails."

"Likewise." Evangeline backed his claim calmly.

After Levi saved their lives in the Ashora Empire, they saw him in a different light... even if he wasn't part of their team, they would still follow his lead.

Of course, his absolute strength and strategic mind also played a heavy role in accepting him as their leader.

This left Yanhuan's team... Li Mei was the acting captain when Yanhuan wasn't around. When she saw everyone's looks affixed on her, she couldn't help but gulp nervously.

'Yanhuan... where are you?'

She called inwardly, refusing to accept the current situation without her captain around... but alas, Dominic was a busy man, and he had no plans to wait for them or Yanhuan when he had already accepted Levi as the captain in his heart.

"It's three votes against one abstaining. I guess this settles..."

However, before he could announce the final decision, a sudden, cold, familiar voice echoed in the central Hall.

"I object."

Everyone turned their heads at once to see the owner of the voice, walking inside the central plaza with his chest upright and an expression as desolate as a desert.

Yanhuan had returned at last!

Alas, his epic entry lasted for barely a second before everyone's eyes were lured to his gleaming bald head.

"..."

"..."

"..."

Levi, Tyrese, Evangeline, Arthur, Shia, and even his teammates were left absolutely speechless by his current appearance, feeling like they were being punked or something.

A moment later... Tyrese and Arthur burst into loud laughter simultaneously... tears pouring down their faces as they pointed at Yanhuan's bald head.

"Jojo! Look! Quickly look! It's your evil twin!"

Arthur laughed his ass off while shaking Jojo's shoulder back and forth, pissing her off more than she already was.
