Chapter 91: Fate Shattered!

Outside the lord's residence.

The legendary wizard Merlin carried himself fearlessly, stepping into the hall with an air of composure, casting an eye on Crow Queen Triss who served beside Duncan.

The former High Priest of the Empire attended to her side, a privilege even the Emperor could not enjoy.

The Druid Priestess possessed by Tethys sat on the left, as the earliest Avalon Guardian Fairy to contact Duncan, her powers had recovered more, allowing her to descend, while other guardian fairies fell slightly short.

Duncan clapped his hands lightly, and several maids presented exquisite wines and delicacies. Merlin seated himself on the lower right, his gaze constantly meeting Duncan's.

The Left and Right Generals' Personal Guard glared at him angrily, some even laying hands on their sword hilts.

"Do not be rude!"

Duncan feigned a reprimand, signaling them to step back, yet the Blade and Axe Wielder remained silent. He calmly said, "I wonder why Master Merlin has visited suddenly?"

"What is your purpose?"

After all, Merlin, as Britain's most renowned legendary wizard, could not be ignored by anyone.

Merlin remained silent for a moment, then slowly said, "I have come for Your Excellency's fate."

This was somewhat presumptuous.

Duncan was the Governor of the Province of Britannia, the uncrowned king of all Britannia, holding a position far above King Uther—what right did Merlin have to predict Duncan's fate?

If you're so great, why not go and slay God's Whip?

Crow Queen Triss slightly narrowed her eyes as she poured wine for Duncan, a trace of murderous intent arising in her elongated phoenix eyes!

Standing behind Duncan serving by his side marked the stance of ancient Roman and Greek polytheism.

Arrogant!

Don't think that just because you're a legendary wizard on Great Britain, Crow Queen Triss truly wouldn't dare to move against you.

Duncan was now her reverse scale, all honor and expectation rested on him, any hostile move from Merlin and Crow Queen Triss would rampage directly.

She was most aware of the wizard's means.

But at this moment, Duncan reached out to gently pat the back of Triss's hand, soothing the clear trace of killing intent in the Crow Queen.

He chuckled slightly, raised his glass, and said, "Please!"

Merlin raised his glass and drank it all in one go.

Duncan lowered his glass, curiously scrutinizing Merlin in front of him, his expression subtly saying, "Does Master Merlin wish to prophesy my fate?"

Interesting.

Duncan naturally carried the law of cause and effect to infer the future, yet Merlin dared to predict his path of fate, truth be told, somewhat naive, but Duncan did not mind letting him try.

Merlin, with a resolute gaze, nodded slowly and said, "Indeed so."

"The appearance of the Governor."

"Makes Great Britain's future turn into chaos, all my previous prophecies have failed."

"I wish to observe the future change through Your Excellency."

Truly a prophecy freak.

No wonder Severus said Merlin seemed mystical, even the Avalon Guardian Fairies were reluctant to believe him.

Duncan couldn't help but laugh heartily, saying, "If the prophecy foresaw precisely the future."

"That would be absurd."

"Even the gods dare not assert to foresee the entirety of the future, Master Merlin is indeed quite arrogant."

"However."

At this point, Duncan's tone changed, saying, "If Master Merlin wishes to prophesy, I do not mind letting him try."

Crow Queen Triss showed a slightly uneasy expression upon hearing this, but Duncan patted her hand, signifying no harm.

Merlin, visibly excited, rose and said, "If the Governor doesn't mind, I shall then try."

In an instant.

A surging wind of magic power emerged, Merlin's eyes seeming to melt, transforming into a grayish-white, the magic power within him surpassed even Crow Queen Triss, though Crow Queen Triss still held the position of High Priest, possessing additional polytheistic blessings, slightly stronger than Merlin.

He was not yet the complete Merlin.

Only when King Arthur was born, and Merlin acquired Avalon beliefs and surrounding Celtic faith's support, would he then be in true complete form, likely becoming a unit with a skull mark.

But now this possibility was minimal, Avalon's beliefs predominantly aligned with Duncan's side.

Thus Merlin now felt confused, because Avalon no longer cared for him, the core strengths prophesied like the Lake Fairy, Sword of Oath and Victory, Avalon Scabbard, etc., mostly transferred to Duncan.

He prophesied for half his life, and ended up prophesying solitude!

In legend, Merlin was not only skilled in prophecy, but allegedly could control fate.

Yet his final outcome was not ideal, he fell for a Lake Fairy named Vivian, and was ultimately eternally imprisoned by her within an oak tree using spells.

This guy was like a combination of a wizard and a druid.

As for his conclusion, dismissing myth, Duncan felt it more like he suffered Avalon's faith backlash when King Arthur failed, Avalon bet everything and resulted in King Arthur's death, Sword of Oath and Victory was reclaimed, and Merlin was imprisoned by the Lake Fairy.

In the hall, the wind of magic power roared!

All others present showed faint unease, even Crow Queen Triss's face slightly changed, Merlin's strength exceeded her expectations.

Indeed one of the most powerful legendary wizards in contemporary Europe.

Dimension Space.

Within Duncan's projected image, a sudden change occurred akin to a snowy signal, revealing additional corners where constantly shifting future scenarios appeared.

Merlin wished to foretell Duncan's future, and the wind of magic power was captured by Dimension Space, resonating with everything he saw.
