The entire Holy Sanctuary is gradually disintegrating.
Duncan ignored the several prompts from the Dimension Space and said in a deep voice to the Goddess Suliss beside him, "Take over the Sanctuary immediately!"
Not far away, the Goddess Suliss gave him a deep look, and then her figure slowly disappeared. She was no longer in the combat stance, wearing a skirt armor and holding a long spear, but transformed into a misty goddess apparition wearing a laurel crown and holding golden tassels and an olive branch, with even an owl circling beside her.
Her apparition appeared in the direction of the sacrificial fire, gradually transforming into the outline of a misty giant, merging with the law here.
The center of the Holy Sanctuary.
A towering peak suddenly rose up, and the pitch-black jungle on all sides gradually disappeared. Flowing springs cascaded down from the top of the peak like a huge waterfall.
At this moment, the entire Holy Sanctuary Realm was rapidly changing its form.
Mountains, springs, waterfalls, one after another, hot springs gushed from the ground, washing away the bloodstains on the battlefield, and also taking away the plague miasma of the primitive jungle. Hundreds of large and small hot spring pools formed in the central area, and the fluttering essences gradually revealed vague human forms. Then, in the lush, yet not at all eerie forest that seemed serenely illuminated by the bright moon, beautiful silhouettes clad in Greek dresses appeared.
——Spring Nymph (Elf) (Holy Sanctuary Guard) (One Star Silver Gray).
——Tree Nymph (Elf) (Holy Sanctuary Praying Warrior) (One Star).
——Mountain Nymph (Elf) (Holy Sanctuary Praying Warrior) (One Star).
Hundreds of Nymphs emerged. They are subordinate goddesses in Greek mythology, a form of spirits and fairies. As their wonderful songs resonated, numerous seeds gradually took root and sprouted, transforming into flourishing Greek-style gardens. Streams of clear springs emerged on the ground, gathering into small rivers and lakes. It was like a small ecological circle, constantly constructing itself with the peak at the center of the island as a pivot. The layout was predominantly Greek in style but also included some Roman-favored elements.
The main inhabitants here are Nymphs and various Elf Immortal Spirits, which to some extent also incorporate the natural aspects of Druidic beliefs.
Because the core divine position of the Goddess Suliss currently is springs and healing, the guardians of this Sanctuary are the Spring Nymphs, whose enchanting silhouettes are clearer than the other Nymphs. One sultry, damp silhouette after another continually emerged from the hot spring pools, as if people were being created from thin air. But in fact, the Holy Sanctuary doesn't belong to reality; they have no substantial form, similar to ghost souls, just like essences changing into human shapes.
The mountain ranges spread out in all directions!
Eventually, the appearance of this Sanctuary island had greatly changed. The central mountain range soared into the clouds, with majestic stone pillars emerging at the mountaintop. In the center was the burning sacrificial holy fire, and the flat areas gradually transformed into hills and plains. Rivers crossed and distributed, maintaining natural scenery while also having a certain order and aesthetic beauty of law.
Orchards distributed along the river channels, mainly apples. In the most central area, there was a thriving tree adorned with strands of golden light, seemingly its fruits not yet ripe.
"Is this the power of the Main God?"
Duncan was also dumbfounded. This was beyond moving mountains and filling seas; this was transforming the entire Holy Sanctuary. Even here, in a realm not belonging to reality, such divine power far exceeded most Divine Spirits. It's worth noting that the mist-covered Avalon took several months to transform the island.
Different mythological beliefs have different styles.
Undoubtedly, the ancient Greek pantheon placed great importance on mountains. The Sanctuary in Greek legends had obvious traces of civilization, a realm where nature and civilization intertwined, unlike the barbaric land of Celtic beliefs.
Behind Duncan, six Guardian Fairies of Avalon were also dumbfound.
Tethys, gazing at the rapidly transforming Eden-like Sanctuary, couldn't help but exchange a glance with the other Guardian Fairies, muttering, "When we return, we should also plan how to transform the island of Avalon."
Compare and despair.
Compared to the Sanctuary just taken over by the Goddess Suliss, mist-covered Avalon seemed like a primitive mysterious island, a lonely small island, just a vast forest and some beautiful natural scenery without the harmonious beauty of cultural and natural integration.
In terms of grand and magnificent landscapes, the aesthetic sense of Greeks and Romans was undoubtedly far superior to other Barbarian Race tribes.
The gap between these two Sanctuaries was simply too large!
Duncan couldn't help but glance at the six Guardian Fairies behind him, his expression somewhat self-explanatory.
Look at them, with their mountains, lakes, rivers, hot springs, orchards, etc., everything arranged in perfect order, like players in My World, some living in coffin boxes, some in luxurious villas, some directly residing in majestic wonders.
With just this ability to transform the Sanctuary, the Goddess Suliss had an overwhelming advantage, and even the six Guardian Fairies combined weren't enough to challenge her single-handedly.
Athena's divine position is very broad.
She is the Goddess of Arts, the protector of handicrafts. She taught humans weaving, cooking, gardening, pottery, and other crafts, as well as painting, music, poetry, and dance arts, and the esoteric prayer songs called her the "Goddess of Founding Arts." She is also the protector of military, agriculture, medicine, navigation, and animal husbandry, and the Goddess of Courts and Order.
She established the first court of Athens.
Even if the aspect of the Goddess Suliss only inherited a portion of the authority in craft and art, it was still overwhelming for the mist-covered Avalon.
The Crow Queen, Triss, was right.
Indeed, no one was more suitable than Athena.
Her divine position is too comprehensive.
It's practically prepared to become the next Greek Divine King; her core divine positions include wisdom, art, weaving, painting, gardening, craftsmanship, agriculture, livestock, navigation, military, etc.
This is basically a hexagonal Warrior!
At this moment, Goddess Suliss has easily merged with Gwanu's craftsman and forging divine positions. While taking over the divine position, she also took control of this Holy Sanctuary. But unlike other pantheon beliefs, in the Greek side of the Holy Sanctuary, the main attendants are various Nymph Immortal Spirits, and they don't really need that many combat guards. The Olympian gods are relatively arrogant; they were very competent fighters themselves back in the day, almost not relying on mortal strength.
Artemis has many Nymphs serving her.
The Holy Sanctuary of the three Virgin Goddesses almost has no males; only other Main Gods' Holy Sanctuaries have them. Not only do they lead by example, but they also demand the Nymphs around them to remain chaste. According to legend, Artemis expelled a Nymph who lost her chastity due to Zeus's forceful conquest.
She and her son later became the constellations—Ursa Major and Ursa Minor.
The downfall of the Greek pantheon is nearly entirely Zeus's fault.
Because Zeus overwhelmingly disrupted the Greek pantheon, even later turning to the Roman aspects for redemption, they were still suppressed and replaced by Monotheism.
Jupiter's aspect is considered reformed, but it was already too late.
To some extent, Duncan supports the Greek Roman pantheon; the biggest antagonist Zeus is already gone. He certainly won't allow Zeus's belief to revive.
The twelve Main Gods of ancient Greece; other Divine Spirits can be discussed later.
First, nail down Zeus's coffin lid!
Monotheism nailed down the coffin lid, and Duncan also wants to seal it. Some Greek gods don't need revival; fewer Divine Spirits allow for more concentrated faith.
"Still a bit wasteful!"
"Greek gods' thoughts are a bit behind the times."
Duncan looked at the Nymphs in the distance rebuilding the entire Holy Sanctuary and thought to himself, "Look at Odin! Always preparing for the Twilight of the Gods, with Valkyries sending the souls of warriors who died in battles to the Heroic Spirit Hall."
"Avalon has the Green Knight, Gwanu has the Black Sword Warrior."
"Suliss just has these Nymphs—what can they do?"
Some Greek gods are too obsessed with the Virgin Goddess identity. Inside the Holy Sanctuary, there are a bunch of Immortal Spirits; few can fight, whereas most highly skilled warriors nowadays are males. With the limited spell abilities of the Nymphs, they truly are inadequate.
It's not the age of Amazonian Warriors anymore; with gender equality, Holy Sanctuary guards should still use those valiant warriors who died heroically in battle.
The regular defense of this Holy Sanctuary is not as good as that of Mist-covered Avalon; at least the Green Knights can fight hard battles.
Now it can only be slowly improved. Suliss has assimilated the forging and craftsman divine positions; it won't be long before she can attempt to revive Athena's aspect. Holy Sanctuary guards, regardless of gender, just need to be able to fight; Duncan is a pragmatic person.
A trace of dawn light appeared on the horizon.
When Duncan's figure walked out of the Holy Sanctuary, he immediately felt a trace of weakness.
Not only did he feel this way, but behind Duncan, the Crow Queen Triss and Merlin also felt deeply because these two Legendary Wizards were more severely suppressed by reality's laws. The brilliant spiritual light on the Sword of Oath and Victory gradually dimmed, the Nord Bow was left with just a faint glimmer, and even the Cursed Demon Spear he just brought out turned into a weakly glowing Longsword.
This magic spear originated from a very obscure legend; the God of Craftsmanship Goibniu crafted a cursed spear to retaliate against enemies, which plunged into the ground and made the land barren.
Because of its low legendary level, it is not even as well-known as the later Greed Demon Spear.
Duncan thought it was a powerful Divine Artifact, but upon bringing it into the real world, he discovered it was not even as good as his Oathkeeper Longsword, which also has legends.
He can only make do with it for now.
"Why do these Divine Artifacts seem tied to secular legendary faiths? Divine Artifacts without legendary level feel like mere shells!"
Duncan's Cursed Demon Spear is an example, without even a proper name.
—"Cursed Demon Spear (Curio): Enemies struck by this spear will have wounds that are difficult to heal, applying a faint weak curse; it can automatically increase hit rate. When conditions are met, unlock mythical form."
It feels incomparable to the Spear of Greed; it barely serves as a formidable Curiosity.
