Abyss Sequence

Chapter 16: The Possibility of Gaining Special Abilities

After a long journey, Yan Luo and his companions finally returned to Gass City.

The drivers needed a break after driving for such a long time.

The Elf World is full of demons, and city-breaking level demons are not uncommon.

On the way back from Pirie City, Yan Luo and his companions encountered two city-breaking level demons, which exhausted all of Yan Luo's tactical tools, leaving only the last three blades of his hot melt axe.

Currently, Yan Luo has no way to return to the civilized world to replenish the axe blades. He must rely on Sasa and Li Xinyue. If he uses up all the blades before they bring spare ones into the Abyss, he'll have no choice but to run when he encounters city-breaking level demons again.

They rested in Gass City for a night, collected the final payment from the Lord of Gass City, and left Gass City, preparing to return to Blue Star.

The truck terminal recorded the driving route, and the truck drivers could return to the teleportation point by following it without Yan Luo's guidance.

They didn't encounter any strong demons along the way, and the convoy easily reached the teleportation point.

Yan Luo opened the space passage, and the trucks drove in one by one, followed by him.

Before stepping into the space passage, Yan Luo felt something and looked back.

After a brief pause, he withdrew his gaze and passed through the space passage.

Julia, hidden by magic, stood silently behind some distant bushes. She didn't expect Yan Luo to notice her presence from that far away.

Can a samurai possess this level of perception?

Probably not, right?

It seems Yan Luo is indeed a 'Saint', as she suspected.

Though she roughly confirmed Yan Luo's identity as a Saint, figuring out how to obtain his blood remains a challenge.

......

Back again in the Crimson Abyss, Yan Luo looked up at the blood moon in the sky.

He had heard from the three drivers about the mutation of Crimson No.2, a unique phenomenon only occurring there.

Yan Luo couldn't help but wonder if this situation was related to him.

Reflecting on what he has been doing recently, only the 'frequent opening of space passages' could be linked to the environmental mutation in Crimson No.2.

Is it because he frequently opens space passages in the Crimson Abyss to travel to the Elf World that these mutations have occurred in Crimson No.2?

"Yan Luo, we should go."

Hearing the drivers bidding farewell, Yan Luo averted his gaze and told them, "Please pass a message to Sasa and Li Xinyue to bring some spare hot melt axe blades and tactical tools next time. I'll be waiting in the usual spot."

Even without tactical tools, Yan Luo can defeat city-breaking level demons with just his hot melt axe.

But having tactical tools would make it easier, so why not?

"Alright!"

The three drivers agreed without hesitation and drove away.

Watching the three trucks leave, Yan Luo sat down, placing the space box beside him.

Having to stay in the Crimson Abyss all day, obtaining information about the outside world relies on others bringing it in. Over time, he will undoubtedly become disconnected from society.

Thinking about this, Yan Luo couldn't help but sigh.

I wonder when he'll be able to return to civilized society?

Of course, if someone were to ask if he regretted publicly killing She Wuyou that day, he would certainly say no.

Unless She Wuyou turned out to be a good person, which seemed unlikely.

Yan Luo waited in the same spot for almost six hours until he saw an armored car approaching.

"Helena?"

The person driving the armored car wasn't Li Xinyue or her teammate, but Helena Sheffield.

The car door opened, and a long leg stepped out, highlighting Helena's graceful figure with her form-fitting exoskeleton.

"Li Xinyue and her team went hunting in the Abyss, so my team and I will be delivering and picking up things for you during this time."

Helena crouched down to Yan Luo's level and said with a smile, "You seem to be struggling right now. Do you need me to bring you a tent?"

"No need." Yan Luo shook his head.

His instincts are sharper than an alarm system; the moment a demon capable of threatening him approaches, he'll wake up from sleep immediately.

For Yan Luo, a tent would be a constraint.

"Alright, then."

Helena sighed, stood up, walked to the armored car, and pulled out a space box filled with food and fresh water. "Here, this is the supply I prepared for you. It also contains spare hot melt axe blades and tactical tools, which you should transfer yourself."

Yan Luo didn't stand on ceremony and swiftly transferred the supplies Helena brought into his space box.

Watching Yan Luo's actions, Helena suddenly spoke, "Oh, by the way, Sasa asked me to tell you something when I was preparing to come in."

While transferring supplies, Yan Luo inquired, "What did she say?"

Helena said, "She said she figured out how to give you a special ability."

Yan Luo paused and sharply looked at Helena.

Helena smiled, "Bioelectricity—you should know what that is, right?"

Though Yan Luo is only half-literate in the modern sense, bioelectricity isn't particularly advanced knowledge; he's definitely aware of it.

Helena mimicked Yan Luo's posture and said, "Sasa says bioelectricity is quite weak, and typically, even you couldn't release electricity from it. So the ability gained from it isn't the kind of human-released electric current but might allow you to vertically adhere to walls.

"She also mentioned that if you learn to control your own magnetic field and influence external magnetic fields, you might propel yourself with the intersecting magnetic forces, achieving rapid movement or even flight."

Flight—hearing the word, Yan Luo raised an eyebrow.

Yan Luo knows his weaknesses; he lacks any special abilities, relying solely on the body's natural capabilities.

To throw a powerful punch, one must be grounded.

If struck by anti-gravity magic, rendering his feet unable to touch the ground, he'd become a sitting duck.

Obtaining the ability to fly would eliminate his weakness.

"I understand." Yan Luo said earnestly.

His next enhancement focus will be on bioelectricity and the human magnetic field, even if this development path may be wrong, he will try.

After transferring all supplies to his space box, Helena chatted with him a bit, asking about living in the Abyss long-term.

Yan Luo replied that it wasn't a big deal for him.

Although the magic concentration in the Abyss is high and full of demons, Yan Luo's magic adaptability is inherently low, making it nearly impossible to interact with magic.

And the rampant demons are even less of a concern for him.

With his current strength, even if he couldn't defeat city-breaking level demons, he could find a way to escape. If escape was impossible, he'd find another city-breaking level demon and weaken its combat power amidst the clash, ultimately annihilating them.

No catastrophe-level demons practically exist in the Crimson Abyss, as long as Yan Luo doesn't venture into the Crescent Mountain Range, his life isn't in danger.

After a brief chat, Helena stood up and waved goodbye to Yan Luo, driving away.

After Helena left, Yan Luo took out roasted meat from a city-breaking level demon from his space box and tore into it.

It's true that bioelectricity is weak, but he can continuously enhance certain abilities.

As long as the magic is sufficient, his bioelectricity will perpetually strengthen.

However, once bioelectricity becomes strong, the nerves and muscles need to be fortified as well, or the powerful bioelectricity could paralyze him with slight movements.

But that's a minor issue!

If he could acquire special abilities, no longer being merely strong or fast like before, he's willing to accept anything.

Even the inability to release electric currents from the body doesn't matter, as long as he can obtain the ability to fly and eliminate his previous weaknesses, he's willing to put forth significant effort.

After consuming the roasted meat, Yan Luo picked up the space box and stood up.

Next, it was time to hunt demons and replenish more magic power!
