Abyss Sequence

Chapter 46: Abyss Strategy Begins

After finishing the bloodletting, Yan Luo rested for a day at Fortress No. 1. Feeling full of energy, he rode a motorcycle and left the fortress, heading deeper into the Forbidden Demon Abyss.

Nowadays, quite a few Hunters have entered the Forbidden Demon Abyss and have explored the areas near the Abyss Entrance.

The Forbidden Demon Abyss seems to possess a barren landscape. Although there are undulating mountains in the distance, even these are devoid of any vegetation.

This eerie place offers little to study. Judging by all the Demons encountered so far, the Forbidden Demon Abyss's creatures only have the superpower of 'forbidden magic', as if designed specifically to counteract Magic Power.

Not even experts in abyssal ecology can figure out what this abyss is about; it completely defies the patterns observed in other abysses encountered by Blue Star.

Yan Luo sped across the barren land on his motorcycle, shaking off the other Hunters trailing behind him, as he set out alone to explore the Forbidden Demon Abyss.

His personal terminal continuously transmitted video footage to the black box mounted on the back of the motorcycle, a required piece of equipment for every Hunter venturing out.

Upon returning to the fortress, a quantum computer would integrate all the footage captured by the Hunters to create a map of the Forbidden Demon Abyss.

This is how the maps of other abysses were created.

Ten years ago, Blue Star already had the conditions for manufacturing a quantum computer, though they never managed to build one. Thus, even with the advent of technological blockades, Blue Star can now build quantum computers.

This abyss is filled with barren land, with no place for a Hunter to hide even if they wanted to.

Likewise for the Demons.

From afar, Yan Luo spotted a pig-like Demon lying on the ground; it was rather large with a horn on its head.

Like the other Demons of the Forbidden Demon Abyss, this creature before Yan Luo was also covered with bone plates, making ordinary bullets useless even if they bypassed its deflective shield.

This abyss seems custom-made for him; both the forbidden superpower and the thick bone plates are exactly what he specializes in dealing with.

Yan Luo leaped from the motorcycle, drew the Giant Sword hanging on its side, and jumped into the air above the Demon.

By this time, the Demon finally reacted, sensing Yan Luo's presence.

But it was already too late!

Yan Luo activated the Magnetic Field within his body, resonating with that of the Forbidden Demon Abyss, causing his body to accelerate downward, his sword piercing through the Demon.

"I'm hungry."

Though Yan Luo had eaten breakfast before leaving Fortress No. 1, his digestive powers were remarkably strong.

Once he eats, he can infinitely strengthen himself, so naturally, Yan Luo wouldn't miss the chance to eat.

Thus, Yan Luo opened his mouth.

Crunch!

Along with the bone plates, he tore into the Demon's flesh.

......

While Yan Luo was feasting in the Forbidden Demon Abyss, Sasa and Helena had arrived in the Elf World.

This time, the Pension Association had prepared the same amount of goods as last time, and Bao Han Company added some products as requested by Mayin City and Pirie City.

Julia, who was responsible for receiving the convoy, was somewhat disappointed not to find Yan Luo among them.

She had planned to ask Yan Luo for Saint's Blood, but he didn't come this time.

Helena looked at the Elves appearing before them with great interest, her gaze sweeping over Julia from head to toe like a tongue.

Her look made Julia's skin crawl, involuntarily taking a half-step back.

Standing next to Julia, Suniya was puzzled and asked Sasa, "Yan Luo didn't come?"

Sasa smiled and replied, "We encountered some issues on our side, and Yan Luo is resolving them with others. So, I'll be coming in place of Yan Luo for the time being."

"I see..."

Suniya bowed her head in disappointment.

Sasa, however, turned and took a few boxes of shotgun ammunition from a nearby box, handing them to Suniya.

"Although Yan Luo didn't come, he did instruct me to bring some ammunition for you, considering that it should be running low even if used sparingly."

Seeing the boxes of bullets, Suniya immediately brightened up.

Unlike her more mature sister, Suniya had been well shielded and still had a childlike mentality.

Though defeated by Yan Luo, the power and attitude Yan Luo displayed earned Suniya's admiration.

Watching Suniya's long ears twitching with happiness, Sasa squinted and smiled.

"Get in the car; we'll give you a ride."

Besides a couple of trucks, Helena had brought some of her troupe members along, so the convoy boasted additional armored vehicles.

Helena didn't believe her own strength was greater than Yan Luo's current prowess, so she brought these troupe members to better protect the convoy and Sasa.

At Sasa's call, Julia and Suniya climbed into the armored vehicle driven by Helena, and Helena, upon receiving a reminder from Sasa, reined in her gaze.

The convoy moved forward without encountering particularly challenging obstacles, cruising smoothly into Gass City's barrier.

Along the roadsides, Elves using Magic were at work in the fields. Spotting the beautiful Elves, Helena whistled, acting very much like a rogue.

Sasa had no choice but to resign herself to it.

Helena was indiscriminate in her affections, interested in both men and women.

If she behaved like this on Blue Star, was it any surprise she would act the same in the Elf World with its youthful, attractive Elves?

Sitting in the backseat, Suniya whispered in her sister's ear, "Sister, don't you think that woman is strange...?"

Julia sighed; how could she not sense it?

Due to the rarity of their population, Elves did not encourage same-sex relations, so Suniya, a youngster, was unaware of homosexuality, but Julia knew.

There was no doubt that the woman was a lesbian!

Just as Julia made this judgment, she saw Helena's eyes light up, and she whistled at a male Elf, plunging Julia into a state of confusion.

This... what on earth is up with this person?

"Ahem!" Sasa faked a cough.

At the sound, Helena turned her lips downward, straightening up and driving properly, leaving behind her earlier rogue behavior.

This time, the convoy came to Gass City not primarily for trade, as Gass City's resources had nearly been drained in the previous engagements.

The main aim this time was to deliver the previously promised engineers to construct an electrical system for Gass City.

The Lord of Gass City had already purchased power generation equipment from the Pension Association, which could now be installed.

For Gass City, the most vital electrical facilities were undoubtedly street lights.

Humans' production tools were beyond their current usage capabilities, requiring a period of learning. Besides basic infrastructure such as street lights and electrical wires, they had little need for other electrical facilities at the moment.

After bringing the engineers to Gass City, the convoy didn't immediately leave, as Sasa still had to communicate with the Lord of Gass City.

"Going forward, we might bring in more types of goods, and more merchants might come to your world. I hope you can communicate with the other city Lords and inquire which cities might be willing to accept human goods."

The Lord of Gass City couldn't tell whether these humans had benefited in the initial trade or if they had disclosed the matter upon returning to their world.

However, from Sasa's words, it was clear that the influx of more human merchants was inevitable.

This left the Lord of Gass City feeling rather helpless. As humans controlled the channels of communication with the Elf World, there was nothing they could do to stop it even if they wanted to.

Fortunately, not all humans were malevolent. At least those represented by Yan Luo were not. In fact, Yan Luo himself despised the underhanded tactics used by some of his kind.

Having lived for nearly a thousand years, the Lord of Gass City could easily discern whether Yan Luo was speaking truthfully or deceitfully.

He could tell that Yan Luo meant every word he said.

That's why, back then, he had swallowed his anger and adopted Yan Luo's approach to handling matters.

Although Elves are good-natured and trustworthy, they aren't to be trifled with.

Consequently, after Sasa made his request, the Lord of Gass City pondered for a moment before agreeing.

However, he intended to share his own experiences with the Lords of other Elf Cities, advising them to be wary of human merchants and not to treat them in the same manner as they would Elves.

With this approach, even if other Lords decided to collaborate with humans, they would be more cautious.
