Chasing Light City, Black Obsidian Martial Arts Hall.
The midday sun shone brightly as another batch of newcomers entered the large rented transportation vehicle under the summoning of One Leaf Floating Cloud.
"The vehicle is about to depart. Don't miss the chance to earn Points and Contribution," One Leaf Floating Cloud shouted through a loudspeaker at the training ground, "With a professional team leading, safety is guaranteed. If you are skilled in mining, this is definitely the fastest way to earn Points and Contribution below the level of Martial Artist!"
As One Leaf Floating Cloud called out, some players on the training ground looked on with envy, while others cursed the heartless factory, feeling that One Leaf Floating Cloud and the others were utterly ruthless and unafraid of being exposed.
Since several major teams discovered that the White Feather Gang's base had an Energy Ore Vein, One Leaf Floating Cloud came up with an idea. Although they weren't Core Disciples yet and couldn't establish a base recognized by the Martial Arts Hall, it didn't stop them from mining the Energy Ore Vein.
So, the first thing One Leaf Floating Cloud did upon resurrection was to recruit players at the Martial Arts Hall, hiring them to mine the Energy Ore Vein.
As for the hiring fee, it was 5% of the mined Energy Ore, meaning for every hundred kilograms mined, they could get five kilograms of Energy Ore.
Now the price for exchanging Energy Ore at the Martial Arts Hall had risen to 200 Points per kilogram, but selling one kilogram of Energy Ore to the Hall, the purchase price was only 40 Points, with an additional 20 Contribution for every ten kilograms.
If players mined and sold directly to the Hall, they would definitely profit significantly, much more than mining Energy Ore for the Hall. Moreover, Red Moon Mountain no longer allowed players to mine, only permitting cultivation in designated rooms.
The only decent task in Red Moon Town was to take on some defense tasks and defend the town with NPCs.
And the task had high skill requirements for players; only those at Extreme Apprentice level or above could accept it. The good old days were gone forever.
Now One Leaf Floating Cloud only offered players 5% of the Energy Ore, so selling it to the Martial Arts Hall would yield very ordinary returns. Even if new players mined a ton of Energy Ore a day, getting 5% means fifty kilograms, which when sold to the Hall, would earn 2000 Points and 100 Contribution — utterly heartless.
Of course, if kept for personal use, it would be profitable, as Energy Ore is valuable; after becoming a Martial Artist, cultivation requires consuming Energy Ore, without exception even for the wealthy elite.
One Leaf Floating Cloud felt that players now were too greedy, thinking even 5% was too low. Where else could one find such a generous capitalist offering a 5% return on an item?
Especially when Energy Ore can be used personally, earning at least fifty kilograms a day. Under normal circumstances, it's impossible to earn so much Energy Ore in a day below the Martial Artist level.
After shouting for half an hour, another ten or so old Apprentice Level players boarded the vehicle, and One Leaf Floating Cloud unwillingly got on.
"With so few people, renting a large transportation vehicle this time was truly a loss. If the game allowed hiring those NPCs, it would be ideal." One Leaf Floating Cloud looked at the many empty seats, feeling that this trip to the White Feather Gang's base wasn't worthwhile.
The rental fee for the large transportation vehicle was not low; even just renting for seven days cost 30,000 Points. Although 30,000 Points wasn't much to him now, even small increments are valuable.
As the large transportation vehicle drove out of the Black Obsidian Martial Arts Hall, many vagabonds on the street outside looked on with envy.
Black Obsidian Martial Arts Hall's disciples recruiting for mining Energy Ore could directly receive 5% of the mined ore, something beyond their wildest dreams. The price of Energy Ore was considerable; casually selling dozens of kilograms could support a carefree life for a month.
Unfortunately, Black Obsidian Martial Arts Hall's recruits only those wearing silver-grey uniforms, not even accepting those who have already joined the Hall. If they could recruit externally, such a job would definitely spark a frenzy.
"Black Obsidian Martial Arts Hall is becoming more formidable, occupying yet another Energy Ore Vein. I wonder when they will recruit externally. I don't even need Energy Ore; a thousand Bits a month would satisfy me."
"Don't dream such beautiful dreams. Black Obsidian Martial Arts Hall can't even recruit enough of their own disciples, let alone outsiders. I've heard those disciples going to Red Moon Town are scrambling for mining jobs. Only ten or so from a hundred manage to get jobs, while most are constructing houses and building walls."
"Even if it's constructing houses and building walls, I'd be willing. I've heard Black Obsidian Martial Arts Hall's disciples earn at least 200 Points a day there, and Points are highly valuable in Red Moon Town, with one Point equal to one Bit, translating to earning 200 Bits a day."
"I've heard too that the merchants in Red Moon Town prefer Points over Bits because Points allow purchases of monster meat from those silver-grey uniformed disciples, which they might not accept for Bits."
"Black Obsidian Martial Arts Hall's disciples, eh? I wonder if my child can pass the Martial Arts Hall's assessment today. If we can, our whole family might move to Red Moon Town."
The vagabonds on the street talked back and forth, each looking at the long assessment queue outside the Martial Arts Hall with inexpressible envy and longing.
