Chapter 124: A Gift for my Aunt

He left shortly after and returned home.

That evening there was a knock outside his room door. When he opened it, it was his Aunt.

She stood there awkwardly for a while until she finally said, "I—I prepared dinner… if you want to eat," she stuttered.

She avoided eye contact, and her face was slightly pink, her hand gripped nervously to her gown.

Even if it looked like it took a lot of effort for her to come and tell him, Yohan was still surprised that she would even cook for him in the first place. This was the first time she had cooked since his uncle got arrested.

"Okay, I'll be out in a second," he replied.

During the meal, they ate in silence. Cassie wasn't around, so it was just the two of them.

He couldn't stop glancing at her exposed cleavage, hardly covered by the pink dress she wore. It was the meal he wanted most at this table.

He wanted to rush at it and stuff the whole thing inside his mouth, but he controlled himself.

Now that his uncle was gone, he had to be extra careful with his Aunt. He needed to make sure his first move on her wouldn't be rejected so that she would start to think she was the one who couldn't control herself. Right now, he wasn't certain that she had come to terms with the news of his uncle; he had to be cautious.

"So, how are you handling everything with Uncle?" he asked.

She sighed. "I always knew what kind of man my husband was, but even then I still find it hard to believe he tried to kill you."

Then she smiled a little. "To be honest, I think he got what he deserved."

Yohan was pleased to hear her say that. At least she wasn't like Cassie, too blinded by her emotions to see the truth.

The smile didn't last though, and her mood returned to gloomy very quickly. She certainly still had other things on her mind.

Yohan sighed, realizing that it wasn't going to be easy.

But it didn't matter much because the mere fact that she prepared food for him gave him hope; it meant she was slowly coming back to her usual self.

He finished his food and got up to leave.

"Yohan…" his Aunt called out to him. "I don't think I got to say thank you… for the house."

He smiled and said casually, "Don't mention it, and thank you for the meal."

He entered his room and shut the door.

"Seems like she really appreciated my little gift. I should probably get her more gifts," he reasoned, noticing just how effective his gift was.

So, that was exactly what he set out to do the next day.

He decided to bring Mia along so that she could help him pick out a good gift.

"Mia, I'm sorry for asking you to come with me when I said we wouldn't have to work on Sundays anymore," he apologized, as he continued driving.

But Mia, sitting in the passenger seat, wasn't bothered; she instead had a bright smile on her face.

"It's fine, honestly. I didn't have anything planned out for today," she said. She was clearly excited to be with Yohan.

She wore a short black jean skirt with a long-sleeve white T-shirt, along with makeup and a few of the fancy jewelry Yohan had gotten for her.

Although he had only told her he needed her help, Mia got so excited about coming to see him that she spent extra time preparing.

In her own mind, this was more than just a casual meet-up. it was Yohan asking to spend time with her, even on their day off.

She blushed slightly, thinking about the idea of Yohan wanting to see her.

When they arrived at the store, Yohan told her to pick out a dress he could give to someone as a gift.

Mia chose a very pretty dress, and this time she chose one she actually liked since she was certain Yohan could pay for it.

Yohan appraised it, then said, "I like it. We should buy this one."

"Okay… thank you," she spoke softly, blushing.

Yohan was a bit concerned. 'Why did she tell me thank you? Does she think the dress is for her?'

He sighed. 'In that case…'

"Mia, could you pick another one for someone else?" He joined his two hands together and begged with a playful tone.

"Is it for Chloe?" she asked.

"No, why would I want to buy a gift for Chloe?" Yohan wondered.

"Oh, I just thought it was for her as an apology for the other day," she said calmly.

Yohan considered her words. 'Maybe I should also get Chloe something.'

"Okay, then add another one," he said after a short while.

"Another one?" Mia repeated.

She knew that Yohan had something with Chloe even before her, so she could understand him wanting to buy her a gift, but him adding another one meant there was probably another woman.

Mia felt her heart beat slightly faster. She never considered Chloe a competition. She was fine with it because Yohan always made time for her, but hearing that there was another woman started to make her worry.

'Would he still want me?' She wondered, but she tried her best not to show it.

But it didn't end there. Yohan was still thinking about it and decided that this would be a good opportunity to get Helen a gift. Even though she already had a lot of money and could buy whatever she wanted, receiving something from him would definitely make her happy.

'Plus, she got me a car while all I have given her back is my cock…' he chuckled.

'...Then maybe something for Remi too.' Seeing that he was already here, he decided to get them all something.

After all, it was his job as their man to provide and protect all of them.
