Yohan stepped into the living room the next morning.
Cassie was sitting on the couch watching TV, while Vivian was cleaning the dining table as she hummed a tune with a bright smile.
'Seems like she woke up with a very good mood,' Yohan chuckled to himself, thinking about their adventurous night
Somehow it seemed like she looked even prettier today,
"Good morning," he greeted.
"Good morning, Yohan," Vivian replied, while Cassie only spared him a glance.
"Just give me a few minutes, I'll start preparing breakfast."
"You don't have to worry, I'll soon be heading out," he said casually.
"You're heading to work?" she asked.
"No, I'm going to the gym. I signed up recently at that one at the Grand Palace."
"Grand Palace, as in Grand Palace Hotel?" Cassie was suddenly interested.
"Yeah, Freddie's place."
She stared at him curiously. "Isn't that place too far? Why don't you just go to the one close by?"
"I originally signed up here, but it turns out the owner is just a bastard, so somehow I ended up there. Plus, it makes no difference for me since I can easily just drive there."
"Drive there…?" Her brows went up as she realized. "Is that car outside actually yours?!"
"Yeah, why do you think it's parked there?" he said lightly.
She wanted to ask how he could afford it, but she knew better by now—Yohan was clearly in a different league.
"I was also thinking about signing up for the gym," Vivian chipped in, the thought hadn't left her mind since that day she saw the police woman in that stunning dress.
"Seriously? Then why don't you come with me?"
She considered it. "Sure, that sounds great. I'll just change" she rushed inside
"Could you also drop me off at my friend's place?" Cassie asked.
"Okay, let's go."
So they all left the house that morning in Yohan's car.
Vivian sat in the passenger seat in front while Cassie was pressing her phone behind. Then she caught a good look at the bracelet on her mother's hand.
"Wait, Mom…" she grabbed her hand suddenly, staring at it for more than a few seconds.
"Where did you get this? Isn't this the same limited edition bracelet that Sasha Brown recently bought? I saw it on one of her recent posts…"
"Who's Sasha Brown?" Vivian wondered.
"She's a famous social media influencer that attends my school. This thing cost like $7,000!" She appraised the bracelet on her hand, turning it from side to side.
"And it looks like it is the original. How did you manage to get something like this?"
Vivian finally managed to pull back her arm, rubbing it softly as she also looked at the gold bracelet with a blue crystal.
"It was a gift from Yohan," she admitted before she even realized.
Cassie shifted her gaze to him, brows furrowed. "Why is Yohan getting you a gift?"
Vivian was stunned for a moment and didn't know what to say; it sounded like Cassie was actually suspicious of them.
"It was just a gift," Yohan said casually. "I also got something for you."
"You did?" Her eyes widened curiously
"Yeah, it should be somewhere in the back."
She looked around and found a shopping bag. When she looked inside, there was a small box and a few other items.
"You actually did?!" She was surprised.
"Yeah, I was out getting a few things and just thought of doing something nice."
Cassie stared at Yohan for more than a few seconds. This unexpected act of kindness made her start to see him differently. She started to consider that maybe Yohan really did care for them.
That would mean that she was the one who hadn't been seeing it all this while. It was hard to come to terms with the idea because of the incident with her father, but at least now she didn't see him as a villain anymore.
"Thank you," she said softly.
"You're welcome," he replied, calm and composed as usual.
'Thank goodness I still had the items I initially bought for Chloe. This would have gone a very different way otherwise,' he let out a sigh of relief without them noticing
Shortly after, they dropped Cassie and continued on their way. Then, after a while, they arrived at the gym.
Yohan stood behind Vivian at the front desk waiting for her to finish her registration when one of the staffs walked up to him.
"Excuse me, sir, Ms. Michael has requested that you should come and see her in her office."
"Emily wants to see me?" He wondered why she would request to see him, but he quickly remembered.
It was probably because of the fact that he had used Lingering Touch on her. She was probably dying to see him and told her staffs to inform her whenever he comes around. He glanced at Vivian, and she looked back at him with questions in her eyes.
"Don't worry, Vivian, you can go in without me. I should go and see what she wants."
"O-okay," Vivian nodded.
"Right this way, Ma'am," one of the workout trainers led her away.
Yohan followed the staff back to Emily's office. She stood up from behind her desk and approached him as soon as he arrived.
"Yohan, I've been trying to get a hold of you," she said, almost unable to hide her eagerness.
"What's up, Ma'am?" He asked casually, as if he didn't already know the reason why.
"Well… you see… could you please give me a massage?" She finally managed to say, her voice soft and needy.
"A massage…?" He raised his brows smugly. "I thought you said you had some experts here and had no need for my services?"
"I do, but…" she bit her lip, considering how she would phrase her words. "I just want you to do it."
"You want me…?" He pretended to be surprised before sighing with regret. "I would love to but it's too bad, I can't do it right now."
"What…?" Emily was clearly disappointed. "I'll pay you…"
"It's not about the money, Emily. I only came here to work out, so I didn't come prepared," he explained.
"But if you want, I can get you everything you need," she said quickly, already signaling the staff.
"There's no need. I have special oils and materials I use for my clients. Why don't you come down to my massage parlor the day after tomorrow? I'll make out time to attend to you."
Emily considered it, she couldn't force him so she had to agree "Okay."
"Good, I'll fix your appointment into my schedule," he said with confidence like he actually had a schedule.
'I need her to see that I'm very professional,' he thought to himself with a proud grin.
He wanted her to understand just what kind of opportunity he was offering to her, and making her wait a few more days felt like the right way to do it.
He was just about to leave when his eyes caught a large paper on her table.
"What is this?" He wondered, moving closer to see it clearly.
"It's a new residential area they're planning to build at the outer side of the city. The mayor normally sends out offers like these to possible investors."
"The Jade Island," Yohan's eyes flashed with realization.
"Well, that is what they're calling it. It's supposed to be an ultra-exclusive, man-made island community, but I doubt it's ever going to actually get out of the planning stage," she shrugged.
"Why?"
"Well, for one, it can only be accessible by ferry or private yacht, and the fact that they plan on separating it from the mainland just so they can call it an island sounds way too outrageous."
"It's going to work," Yohan said confidently.
"Hmm, why do you think so?"
"I don't know, I just feel it," Yohan lied, but the real reason he knew this was because he had visited this place before he came back to the past.
This island that was created for the elite and high-class individuals of the society. It would attract millionaires from all over the world and would end up being one of the major areas in the city.
That day he managed to get a job as a cleaner in one of the mansions on that island. It was only for one day, but he could never forget the experience. The place was filled with superstars and millionaires from all over the world. The total amount of networth was easily in billions.
Even Emily's company would end up investing in this project, regardless of what she thought, only that because of her initial doubt, they would end up doing it when there were lots of other investors, therefore they wouldn't gain that much.
Yohan knew all this because it was one of the things he wrote in his book to remember.
"What are they currently proposing?" He inquired.
Emily was skeptical about the reason for his interest, but seeing the seriousness on his face, she decided to indulge him.
"Currently, they are looking for $50 million, and are accepting investments from $1 million upwards."
"$50 million?" Yohan's brow went up slightly, intrigued by her words.
'I was expecting more since in the future one house in that place would cost more than ten million.'
"In that case, I'd like to invest." he decided.
