While the Heavenly Feathered warriors were celebrating in a frenzy, Anstira and the other Heavenly Feathered chief gods and deities, as well as the three divine kings including Tolstoy, all wore heavy expressions.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
Though the Eternal Divine Tree had not yet reached a height of a hundred thousand kilometers in its energy form, its trunk still trembled as it fully unleashed the power of its core. Countless massive roots at its base pierced directly into Passage One. The entire silver vortex tunnel began to expand and swell, radiating dazzling silver light and spatial fluctuations.
These roots, like golden tendrils forged from pure metal, reached into the void. They bridged the storm between the mythical world and the Blue Planet, extending along the solar system's membrane-like world barrier and slowly merging with it.
As the golden roots fused into the barrier of the Blue Planet's world, ignoring the colossal dragons guarding the spatial divide, they spread across hundreds of thousands, then millions of kilometers. The unsteady Blue Planet began to stabilize slightly. The rate at which it was falling into the mythical world slowed, as if it had finally found an anchor.
The eruption of the second mythical surge caught everyone by surprise. While the demon kings and great demon kings of the Purgatory Empires laughed in delight, everyone in the Human Alliance grew uneasy and restless. Already disadvantaged, the Alliance's morale dipped further.
The human cultivators were worried about the safety of the Blue Planet, worried for the families they had left behind. The other three civilizations of the Alliance feared that if the inner world of the humans collapsed entirely, it could trigger a total collapse of the entire front.
Moreover, if the inner world did fall, humanity would undoubtedly have to withdraw a portion of their strongest cultivators to return and protect the billions of ordinary civilians within. Otherwise, most of those unawakened ordinary humans would either explode or mutate instantly within the intense and chaotic energy.
"Chu Batian, let's see what you'll do now.Hahahaha..." Tyretis, held back by Qian Tian, laughed maniacally, feeling as if fate itself was on its side.
In its hand, the Demonic Saber of Darkness surged with unmatched might. With one full-force strike, heaven and earth dimmed, and a massive black chasm stretching tens of thousands of kilometers was carved into the world.
That strike severed the world of yin-yang that blanketed the heavens, sending Qian Tian flying over a hundred thousand kilometers. Its aura surged with unmatched momentum. Yet this slash only caused Qian Tian's aura to tremble slightly. The white flames burning across his body flared even brighter, casting a vast azure radiance across the heavens.
Holding the divine wheel aloft, Qian Tian drew a deep breath, his divine soul shaking the world. "Chen Chu, we'll need to adjust our plan. The surge came early. Primordial and Yan Kuang must return to support the homeland. Primordial is the second-generation guardian. He can burn the Flame of Civilization to stabilize the inner world. Yan Kuang's internal world is the fallback shelter for everyone..."
"Understood, sir." Over two hundred thousand kilometers away, in the middle of battle with Cardeos, Chen Chu's eyes flashed with resolve. He let out a long howl. "Did you all really think I couldn't kill you?"
Boom!
The world quaked. Behind Chen Chu, a figure clad in a black imperial robe appeared, holding the Soul-Suppressing Imperial Seal in its palm. This was the true soul form that had separated from his true form due to the transformation of his soul essence.
Boom!
The true soul form surged into Chen Chu. In that instant, a massive aura exploded from him, shaking all of heaven and earth. The entire battlefield trembled slightly, as the presence of a true-spirit-level being began to manifest.
"A second supreme principle? Impossible!"
A cultivator at the beginning stage of the ancient titan level, wielding one supreme principle, plus a powerful true form and a world-level weapon, is already enough to rival a semi-true-spirit. That alone is monstrous. But now there is a second supreme principle? What is happening?
Even Cardeos and Tyretis, known for their composure, looked utterly shaken. Disbelief flickered in their eyes. It all felt unreal, like an illusion.
This has to be fake. It must be. How can a single human at the very start of the ancient titan level condense two principles? And not just any principles, but two supreme ones?
Every ancient-titan-level cultivator, including divine king, faerie king, and demon god on the battlefield, turned to look toward Chen Chu in shock, sensing an aura equal to a true spirit.
Among them, the demon god priest Constantine looked utterly unhinged. "Tyretis! Why did you stop me from awakening the Ancestor back then? You're the greatest sinner of the entire Purgatory Clan!"
Under normal circumstances, even with Chen Chu's explosive limit pushing him toward true-spirit-level combat strength, Cardeos and Tyretis, both already at that level, wouldn't be completely overpowered. Once Qian Tian's self-immolation ended, Chen Chu would be surrounded by two peak great demon gods. He wouldn't last long; when his energy ran out, death would still be inevitable.
The problem now was that Chen Chu's displayed talent and potential were simply too terrifying. To those who understood what two supreme principles meant, the sight caused emotional collapse. Especially since this freak had only just broken through to the beginning of the ancient titan level.
From Chen Chu, Constantine sensed an unprecedented threat. It had a feeling that if they didn't kill this monster today, even if the Primordial Ancestor awakened, it would still be unable to stop his rise... And what awaited the Purgatory Clan would be extinction.
It had to kill him. It had to forcibly awaken the Primordial Ancestor to kill him. Madness flashed in Constantine's eyes as it looked toward the other demon gods battling the divine kings of the alliance.
However, as Constantine was thinking about which demon god was suitable for being the sacrifice, what it didn't know was that the cost Chen Chu paid to activate the second supreme principle was tremendous. He had forever lost the chance to turn his soul primordial within the ancient titan level. That was also why, even when Qian Tian had sacrificed himself, Chen Chu still refrained from using the second principle's power.
Of course, this was also because Qian Tian's self-sacrifice had been part of a greater plan within the human race. On the eve of this great war's eruption, humanity's internal affairs had two focal points: First, supporting Heavenly King Zhenwu's breakthrough to the supreme level, and second, Qian Tian's plan to sacrifice himself and become the Lord of Void.
Both the current human race and the ancient civilizations of the Blue Planet had long held deep curiosity toward the void. After all, one of the ancient civilizations on the Blue Planet had once been annihilated by a catastrophic void surge.
The prospect of transforming into a void lifeform at the ancient titan level held irresistible allure for people like Qian Tian. Many times, they had imagined what it might feel like to undergo such a transformation. If someone truly succeeded in becoming an ancient void lifeform while retaining independent consciousness, could that open up a brand-new power system for humanity? A new path?
They could potentially leverage the void's power and their former cultivation system to break through their limitations and reach the emperor level. If the mythical surge couldn't be stopped, they could even ascend all of humanity into void lifeforms, becoming undying and undestroyable.
All these questions and speculations had long lingered at the edge of possibility, restrained only by the heavy responsibilities they bore. The three supreme powerhouses who had guarded humanity for decades dared not take that step.
However, today's crisis, along with Chen Chu's presence, finally made Qian Tian resolve himself. So while it seemed as though humanity's strongest warrior was burning his life force just to delay one great demon god for a day or two, the truth was that it wasn't such a loss at all. Very soon, Qian Tian would return from the depths of the void in a new form.
Chen Chu's sudden eruption occurred in a single instant. With the second primordial principle entering his body, his true form expanded to a towering eighty thousand meters. He wore black dragon-scale armor shaped like imperial robes. Upon his head sat the Imperial Crown of Twenty-Four Heavens. He looked like an emperor summoned straight from a mythical era.
Two overlapping world projections appeared around him. One was a newly-born galaxy slowly spinning, the other a continent in the void filled with violent gales and thunderbolts. A great world seemed to fall from the heavens above, and endless purple radiance bloomed across millions of kilometers, as if celebrating the arrival of this complete freak of nature.
"Kill!" Surrounded by endless purple qi, Chen Chu's eight arms flared out behind him. Beneath his tens-of-thousands-meter-long halberd, black holes exploded as he descended upon Cardeos with the supreme divine might.
"Human, only now are you qualified to face me in full combat." A frenzied battle will ignited in Cardeos' eyes, and it spread its six arms wide, without the slightest hint of fear. With power that could shake the great world, it met Chen Chu head-on, demonic force surging sky-high.
In the time-stilled dimension, Cardeos unleashed over ten thousand punches in an instant, each strike powerful enough to rupture space itself. However, with two supreme principles intertwined and the crushing world-level Eight Desolations Halberd, Chen Chu's strength had surged to a level that defied all logic.
Boom!
Within a hundred thousand kilometers around Cardeos, the void collapsed. Even the Supreme Abyss it had summoned was shattered by the blast. Its six arms, powerful beyond compare, were torn apart. Their armor-like scales shattered under the might of the halberd, and Cardeos was sent flying by a single earth-shattering strike.
This domineering display sent a wave of rising morale across the main battlefield. The divine kings, including Tolstoy, felt their auras surge.
Too powerful. Chen Chu, in his complete form, had actually overwhelmed a great demon god head-on. If this continued, there was real hope of lasting until the colossal beast legions arrived.
The moment Cardeos was blasted away, Chen Chu, who was still gripping the halberd, flickered through time. With the power of his speed-based divine ability, he instantly caught up.
Rip!
Two supreme principles entangled in resonance. The Eight Desolations Halberd, infused with the will of world creation, swept across, tearing apart the principle world that had formed around Cardeos.
At the same time, two arms reached out from behind Chen Chu. In each hand was a different crystal: one violet-black, the other pure violet. Cardeos could only watch with a horrified gaze as Chen Chu pressed them both against it. "No!"
Boom! Boom!
World-ending energy erupted, and along with Cardeos' anguished scream, it echoed across the entire Forbidden Zone Battlefield. Destructive purple-black thunderbolts surged across a range of a hundred thousand kilometers, and the purple corrosion principle dissolved everything in its path. Wherever its radiance reached, all traces of life were erased across hundreds of thousands of kilometers.
The explosion from the two dorsal fin crystals was several times more powerful than the previous one, and this time they had detonated at close range. The instant burst of destruction utterly obliterated even Cardeos' incomparably strong true form, leaving it gravely wounded. Chen Chu, caught in the blast from such close range, was also shaken, his aura trembling, and three of his eight arms were destroyed.
At the epicenter of the explosion, where chaotic destruction currents raged, Chen Chu stood firm in the void. His aura howled through the heavens, and a will of overwhelming power soared upward, reverberating across the battlefield.
"Celestial, now!"
Hum!
At the rear of the battlefield, where the war was being monitored, the eye of the towering mech-head-shaped platform on the God Defense System lit up.
From the point of the dorsal fin crystal's explosion, buried 130,000 kilometers beneath the ground, 17 apocalyptic nuclear bombs positioned 20,000 kilometers apart simultaneously emitted a soft click.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
On the right flank of the two-million-kilometer-long battlefield, more than a dozen red-white mushroom clouds bloomed into the sky. The destructive light they released swept out in all directions, slamming into the hurricane shockwave from the dorsal fin crystals. The collision triggered an earth-shattering rumble across the void.
As those nuclear detonations reached their limit, the weapons collapsed inward. Space-time shattered, forming seventeen black holes that caused even the foundational principles of heaven and earth to disintegrate. An invisible aura radiated outward from each one, terrifying all living beings with its despairing pressure.
Boom!
As the dark matter from the nuclear detonations surged outward, the two overlapping world phantoms surrounding Chen Chu expanded, covering a range of a hundred thousand kilometers. They emitted a force capable of sealing and suppressing space-time itself, enveloping dozens of Cardeos' shattered limbs like a cast net.
As Chen Chu forcibly pulled them toward the black holes, the great demon god's broken pieces burst forth with black light, as remnants of its will and soul surfaced in agony. However, its true form was ruined, and its divine soul had been gravely injured by the principle powers of the destructive lightning and corrosion. With its strength dispersed, Cardeos had no hope of resisting Chen Chu, who had ignited his origin and was unleashing his full power.
As the ever-expanding black holes loomed near, a chorus of mad and desperate cries erupted from within the shattered remains. "Tyretis! Save me!"
"Chu Batian!" Tyretis roared furiously, the demonic saber in its hand erupting with dense blood-red light as it tried to force back the blazing Qian Tian at his peak.
"Hahaha... Well done, Chen Chu!" Qian Tian laughed wildly, the black-and-white light around him shining even brighter. Ignoring Tyretis' strikes entirely, he swung the Divine Yin-Yang Wheel toward its head, forcibly halting its advance.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
Cardeos let out a cry of despair as golden-purple arms condensed from principles hurled each piece of its massive broken body into the black holes fueled by dark matter explosions. Under normal conditions, even for Chen Chu, erasing a great demon god would cost him all of his origin and a significant amount of time. That was something almost impossible in the heat of war between two great factions.
As Chen Chu suppressed and sealed Cardeos, at the far ends of the world, the Destructive Dragon Emperor let out a deafening roar. Its wings surged outward, sweeping up the entire colossal beast army as it charged into the storm-filled space ahead and tore through the chaotic starry sky that divided the worlds.
Beyond this forbidden zone lay the true territory of the Purgatory Demon Clan.
