The shattered chaotic void was filled with a terrifying primordial might that swept and intertwined with itself, shaking the fabric of space-time. Boundless primordial radiance spread through the chaos in five brilliant hues, yet it could not pierce the darkness that blanketed the entire battlefield; it was like a magnificent painting imprinted upon the starry sky.
Under the eyes of the five peak civilizations and thirty-six top-tier civilizations' mightiest beings, Chen Chu slowly opened his eyes. His black hair fluttered like a river of stars behind him, and the imperial crown rested atop his head.
Three layered pupils emerged within his vast, black-and-white eyes, causing an overwhelming pressure to burst forth, so dreadful that none of the gathered powerhouses dared meet his gaze directly. Even the undying silver-blue figure instinctively averted its eyes, a reaction born from the deepest part of its soul.
Chen Chu resembled a supreme emperor of antiquity, overlooking all civilizations upon the Ancient Battlefield and standing above heaven and earth.
Only the True Void Emperor and True Radiant Sky Emperor remained unaffected. The latter asked softly, "Chen Chu, what did you find?"
Chen Chu gave a slow nod. "The divine soul fragments cannot lie. There indeed slumbers a monster of the Nine Hells above the seventh layer, an injured and dormant immortal."
Gasps rippled through the void. When the silver-blue figure and the Heavenly Punishment Race had argued earlier, most had subconsciously believed that Luo Jia was lying, that there could not possibly be any immortal creature sealed above.
Because such a truth was far too terrifying to accept. The very name Nine Hells was synonymous with terror. To imagine an immortal-level entity was a horror beyond words. Its will had already transcended reincarnation and immortality at the Eighth Primordial Heaven, and its power could project across the heavens.
The horror of such a being's strength was evident from the miserable state of Luo Jia and the other ancient undying powerhouses, beings once at the very summit of the Ancient Battlefield. They were now crushed and refined into nourishment, sealed within the burial grounds by that Nine Hells monster.
A creature like that lying above the Ancient Battlefield was no different from a world-ending sword hanging over all civilizations, ready to fall at any time. The day that monster of the Nine Hells awakened would be the day of extinction for every civilization here; all life would be devoured in an instant.
The Heavenly Silver-Winged Ant Primordial Supreme's eyes grew grave. Scanning the assembled figures, it spoke solemnly, "Everyone, we cannot remain here. We must leave immediately. The seal on the seventh layer has shattered. That immortal creature may have already been disturbed. If we delay, none of us will escape."
"You're right, Heavenly Ant Supreme, but..." The Heavenly Flame Primordial Supreme's eyes flickered with hesitation.
The other alien powerhouses wore similar expressions. To abandon their outposts, built and fortified over hundreds of thousands of years on the Ancient Battlefield, was no easy decision.
The existence of the Ancient Battlefield held immeasurable importance to their civilizations. It was a foundation of growth for the primordial powerhouses, for the primordial sovereigns, and even for those below them in the true spirit realm. It birthed rare chaotic supreme treasures of the Sea of Chaos, the supreme chaotic origins, and endless natural treasures infused with eternal aura left behind by battles between colossal beasts of the eternal level.
Civilizations had expanded at staggering speed with such resources. Across the infinite worlds, even a single primordial star could reign supreme for an era, subduing countless realms as a Dao Ancestor[1]. To lesser civilizations, a primordial being was already akin to a creator god, immortal through billions of years.
Yet on the Ancient Battlefield, even a top-level civilization possessed three to five primordial powerhouses. Peak civilizations had more than a dozen, and Primordial Sovereigns and Primordial Emperors were common. Each peak civilization required at least one Primordial Supreme to suppress its foundation.
More than thirty top-level civilizations and nine peak races were crowded here for one reason alone: resources. The civilizations that had perished throughout history had fought and slaughtered each other endlessly over the very nodes capable of condensing eternal qi and supreme chaotic power.
Even the ancient human race's rapid rise was closely tied to the resources found in the Ancient Battlefield. Otherwise, no matter how extraordinary True Radiant Sky Emperor and the others were, they could never have advanced from true spirit level to the primordial level and above so quickly.
Amid the chaotic void, a figure surrounded by blood-colored light, its aura gathering into a massive Blood Moon, spoke hesitantly, "Is there truly no way to deal with that Nine Hells monster? It's injured and still asleep, isn't it?"
As the Blood Moon Supreme spoke, its gaze shifted toward Chen Chu, who stood tens of billions of kilometers away, and to the immense purple-black colossal beast hovering behind him, stretching for trillions of kilometers through the void.
The Heavenly Flame Supreme and others glanced at the human side as well. Given the terrifying strength Chen Chu had displayed, combined with that even more terrifying beast, perhaps, just perhaps, they had a chance against an injured immortal.
Yet that was still an immortal, and worse, one born of the Nine Hells. Normally, no being would dare face such a creature directly. Even an immortal of equal realm would not recklessly fight a Nine Hells entity. The risk of suffering grave injury and permanent harm to their foundation was too great. Not to mention, Chen Chu's true realm was only the Sixth Primordial Heaven.
Thus, the thought crossed their minds only briefly before they dismissed it as impossible. No human, however bold, would risk everything to challenge an immortal monster of the Nine Hells. When she sensed the cold, speculative gazes of the Heavenly Flame Supreme and others, the True Radiant Sky Emperor's eyes turned razor sharp.
Before the True Radiant Sky Emperor could speak, Chen Chu's calm voice rose. "Creatures of the Nine Hells are the mortal enemies of all material life. Their very existence brings only destruction and contamination. For this monster of the Nine Hells, we have only two choices. Either we fight and suppress it upon the battlefield, or we withdraw completely from the Ancient Battlefield.
"That means a total migration of our entire civilizations, far from this chaotic region, and away from the vast world itself."
Half of the civilizations within the Ancient Battlefield originated from the nearby mythical world, where they had opened divine regions to rule over countless vassal races with overwhelming might. However, primordial powerhouses could not enter the mythical world. Once they chose to withdraw from the Ancient Battlefield, every civilization would have to move as one.
Of course, those primordial beings could choose to abandon their races, leaving their transcendent offspring within the divine regions of the mythical world while they roamed the chaos alone. But doing so offered no guarantee for the future. Without a primordial guardian, any alien civilization could one day vanish beneath the rise of a new power.
They would follow the same path as the Purgatory Demon Clan, which had dominated the forbidden zones for a hundred thousand years, was destroyed by the rising Human Federation and erased from existence.
When faced with the decision to abandon the resource-rich Ancient Battlefield, to forsake the vast eternal worlds brimming with transcendent resources, even these primordial powerhouses felt as though their hearts were bleeding. Yet it seemed to be the only choice left.
Both the True Radiant Sky Emperor and the True Void Emperor appeared solemn, but only solemn. For unlike the alien civilizations, humanity's potential was infinite. Heng, whose talent had once shone through the ages, had vanished for ten thousand years.
The True Void Emperor and the True Reincarnation Emperor, who had broken through to the Sixth Primordial Heaven thousands of years ago, knew better than anyone the extent of their own power.
Now there was Chen Chu, whose talent rivaled Heng's, perhaps even surpassing it. His rate of progress was so terrifying that the True Radiant Sky Emperor believed he might reach the undying realm within a decade. If one dared to dream even bolder, Chen Chu could ascend to eternity within ten thousand years and become a supreme legend.
Humanity would then rise with him, ascending to become an eternal divine race that ruled the infinite worlds, where every infant born would be a myth in itself. The thought stirred the True Radiant Sky Emperor's heart, filling her with hope for the future.
Yet just as she felt this surge of faith, while the other civilizations' powerhouses sighed bitterly, resigned to their decision, Chen Chu spoke again. "The Ancient Battlefield is too important to both the human race and your civilizations. Therefore, I've decided to enter the seventh layer of the battlefield and suppress that Nine Hells monster."
"What!"
"Divine Might Supreme, you're going to suppress that Nine Hells monster!?"
The Heavenly Flame Supreme and the others froze. Even with their cultivation, they wondered if they had misheard. The silver-blue figure also looked stunned.
The expressions of the True Radiant Sky Emperor and the True Void Emperor, however, both changed drastically. "No, it's too dangerous, Chen Chu. That thing is an immortal-level monster of the Nine Hells."
Chen Chu's gaze remained calm despite the True Radiant Sky Emperor's anxious tone. "Do not worry, seniors. I wouldn't go without confidence. With my strength and Thunder Fiery, even if we can't suppress it completely, we can still retreat safely. However, in that case, all of you should still evacuate the Ancient Battlefield and leave this chaotic region, to avoid being contaminated when that Nine Hells creature awakens."
When she sensed the unwavering will emanating from Chen Chu, the True Radiant Sky Emperor could find no words to dissuade him.
The True Void Emperor, who had remained silent until now, spoke in awe. "To face an immortal head-on while still at the primordial supreme level, such courage and strength are truly remarkable. However, neither you nor we have any experience fighting an immortal. None of us know how powerful they truly are, or what divine abilities or innate powers they possess.
"So I believe we should proceed with caution. Before entering the seventh layer of the battlefield, we should make preparations, or perhaps refine an avatar to send in first."
No sooner had the True Void Emperor spoken than the silver-blue figure's expression changed sharply. "It's too late."
At those words, a chill ran through everyone. The True Radiant Sky Emperor's face tensed. "What do you mean?"
"It has awakened."
As the silver-blue figure spoke, it raised its head toward the darkness covering the heavens, panic flickering in its eyes. Since its soul essence had been tainted by the aura of the Nine Hells, Luo Jia was extremely sensitive to its fluctuations.
Just moments ago, it had felt the corruptive energy stir to life as if it had awakened. The contamination was spreading faster than ever.
Crack! Crack!
High above the sixth layer, the seven-colored barrier that the Dragon Emperor had bitten through began to tremble. Black cracks spread across its surface, forming the shape of a vast, pitch-black eye.
It was as if a terrifying creature was peering down from above. Instantly, everyone felt their blood run cold. A primal fear surged from the depths of their souls, and horror filled their faces.
That Nine Hells monster was far more terrifying than any of them had imagined. A mere strand of its will gazing down brought such dread. If its true form descended, it would not even need to act. One glance would be enough to shatter their minds.
Too terrifying. Run. Run now!
At that instant, throughout all six layers of the Ancient Battlefield, billions of lives trembled in despair as they felt the suffocating terror of being prey before a natural predator. Even Chen Chu felt an immense pressure and danger rise within him under that immortal will's gaze. His blood began to boil, and an indomitable battle will surged forth. Behind him, the purple-black colossal beast, vast as a galaxy, suddenly lifted its head to roar.
The heavens trembled as a thunderous roar exploded, shaking space-time. The roar carried a heavenly-tier might that clashed head-on with the will and aura of the Nine Hells. The resulting collision sent shockwaves through the minds of all present; the Heavenly Flame Supreme and others felt their consciousness rumble as if their skulls were splitting apart.
Chen Chu bellowed, "Senior Radiant Sky, I'll leave the Golden Divine Race to you guys. Thunder Fiery and I will ascend to stop it from coming down. Luo Jia, I hope you keep your word. Otherwise, bear the consequences."
Before anyone could react, a terrifying power erupted from Chen Chu's body. His entire being radiated a blinding golden-white light. A colossal figure, its body clad in golden-purple armor and burning with golden-white flames, emerged from that light. It stood a billion kilometers tall, with three heads and eighteen arms, towering and majestic.
Behind that divine form, nineteen multicolored chaotic light wheels unfolded, spanning hundreds of billions of kilometers. In an instant, an oppressive might no weaker than the purple-black colossal beast in its End Form, which had opened the Ten-Fold Heavenly Gate, descended upon the battlefield.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
Under that ultimate force of power, the heavens inverted, all things crumbled, and invisible shockwaves made the entire Ancient Battlefield quake madly.
The unleashed destruction swept everything before it, sending everyone flying. Even the silver-blue figure, capable of temporarily unleashing half-step undying combat power, could not stand firm before Chen Chu's might and was flung billions of kilometers away.
When the chaos settled and the powerhouses finally stabilized themselves, they looked toward the golden-white brilliance that had banished the darkness and could not help but tremble in shock.
Just standing there, Chen Chu filled them with a primal fear, a bone-deep awe that pierced their souls.
"How is this possible?!"
Even the True Radiant Sky Emperor's eyes widened in disbelief as she gazed at the towering form that blotted out the heavens.
The Dark Star Demon God - The Thirteen-Wheel World-Ending True King Form, combined with the Dragon Emperor's super innate ability, the Black Hole Tyrant Body, had pushed Chen Chu's mastery over the principle of strength to an unimaginable level.
His true form had transformed into a being of three heads and eighteen arms, like an invincible Battle Demon God that could wage war against the heavens themselves. It was as though fate had come full circle. Chen Chu's strongest form had returned to the three-headed, six-armed true form he had once constructed during the Sixth Heavenly Realm. He was perfectly aligned with it, as if guided by divine will.
Boom!
Chen Chu, bathed in golden-white light, tore apart the seven-colored barrier with both hands and charged to the seventh layer before everyone's eyes. The even larger purple-black colossal beast behind him let out a furious howl. Its massive wings spread wide as endless darkness surged forth, flooding into the seven-colored void. Its enormous body nearly filled the trillion-kilometer-wide sky barrier.
Ao Tian! Ao Tian! The great Saixitia has not gone in yet!
The Silver Colossal Dragon flapped its wings and roared anxiously amid the raging chaotic currents. But this time, the Dragon Emperor did not respond, nor did it bring the Silver Colossal Dragon along.
This was a battle at the immortal level. Even the Dragon Emperor had no confidence it could protect others, and Chen Chu himself was unsure of victory. At best, he could guarantee survival.
Yet the risk was worth taking for the sake of those seven undying bodies.
