Worldwide Awakening: My Soul Kinds Are Lost

Chapter 236: Hang Up Script Superiority of the Demon Slayer_1

"Automatic Casting, Automatic Aiming, Automatic Positioning... I have to say, full automation is really useful," Wang Linchi mused, looking at the series of new automatic functions offered by his Reincarnation Stamp Little Helper. Combat skills had always been his weak point. Now, with the Little Helper's assistance, while he might not be comparable to combat experts, he could at least level up using Hang Up thanks to these automatic features.

The essence of a character's automatic functions was to utilize the Game System's processing power to generate responses based on monster behavior. At times, this could be quite rigid. For instance, when powerful monsters used instant Skills, the Auto-Assistant would sometimes respond incorrectly. However, such an error would only occur once; a countermeasure would be in place for the next encounter. But due to its extreme rigidity, it could potentially be exploited by variant tactics.

Given the Game System's processing power, any monster capable of causing issues for the automatic functions had to be immensely powerful—at the very least, on par with a True Magician-level boss. Of course, if he encountered True Magicians or similar foes for whom strategies and data were available, Wang Linchi would configure his settings in advance. He wasn't someone who didn't browse the forums. He would only be caught off guard by truly unexpected situations.

*You have cleared the dungeon...*

After Wang Linchi killed the BOSS, his game character automatically picked up the pile of loot on the ground before exiting the Nightmare Level dungeon.

To test this plug-in, I definitely can't go to Abyss Difficulty; Nightmare Difficulty is enough for now, Wang Linchi decided.

Abyss Difficulty still gives more Experience. A Level 30 Nightmare Difficulty dungeon didn't even grant me a single level, Wang Linchi thought, checking his own level. He was still Level 26, with his Experience bar just over halfway full.

If he were in an Abyss Difficulty dungeon, clearing a Level 30 one would allow him to reach Level 30, the requirement for the second class change. His Experience might even overflow, potentially boosting him straight to Level 45.

The game 'God-given World' actively encouraged Players to clear Abyss Difficulty. As for adjusting Abyss Difficulty to make it easier for Players, Wang Linchi believed it had already been nerfed countless times. Without the Game System's suppression, even Level 200 Players would be hard-pressed to slay powerful Abyssal Demons like the Mutated Dwarf Demon King from the Mystery of Nanling Village in its true form. It was only thanks to the Game System's support that Players were even qualified to slay Abyssal Demons.

Exiting the dungeon, Wang Linchi naturally planned to find a suitable Level 30 Abyss Difficulty dungeon to grind levels.

There were indeed numerous dungeons, leaving Wang Linchi feeling a bit overwhelmed and finding it hard to choose. He wanted to pick one with a lower difficulty, but looking through the list, none of the Abyss Difficulty dungeons seemed easy.

"Calligraphy Linchi?" a slightly puzzled voice inquired.

Wang Linchi turned around. The person looked somewhat familiar. Then, he glanced at the other party's ID: it was Demon Slayer, the number one Player on all leaderboards and the president of the top guild, Celestial Palace.

"Yes, that's me. Is there something I can help you with?" Wang Linchi replied after taking a closer look and finally recognizing him.

Isn't this Demon Slayer his upstairs neighbor, Ye Tian? Though, compared to his real-life appearance, Ye Tian seems to have altered his in-game avatar to be less conspicuous. Even with the adjustments, he's still handsome. This guy must be the protagonist! Wang Linchi became more certain.

"I didn't expect to meet you here. Are you planning to enter a dungeon?" Ye Tian asked, feigning nonchalance.

"Yes, I'm planning to, but there are so many dungeons, it's a bit difficult to choose," Wang Linchi said, sounding somewhat troubled.

Ye Tian's expression turned serious. He was eager to find out how Wang Linchi had managed to clear an Abyss Difficulty dungeon at only Level 26. In his previous life, he had only heard of strategies for Abyss Difficulty but had never actually cleared one himself. He only knew from the forums that clearing Abyss Difficulty could yield an item called a Card.

"Are your Cards for sale? If you sell one to me, I can give you a piece of advice," Ye Tian proposed calmly.

He had no intention of inviting Wang Linchi into his guild. In his previous life, Wang Linchi had been a nobody, and Ye Tian hadn't even heard of him. More importantly, Wang Linchi was male, and inviting him into his all-female guild felt a bit awkward.

"No need. Not selling. Thanks anyway," Wang Linchi refused outright.

What audacity, trading a piece of advice for a Card? He dared to enter Abyss Difficulty dungeons precisely because of the advantages his Card provided; if he sold it, what would he do? Besides, it's not like he could sell this Card even if he wanted to. It was like the Demon Suppression Legacy identity—untradable, undroppable, indestructible, and so on.

Hearing the refusal, a sharp glint flashed in Ye Tian's eyes, though he quickly suppressed it. "If you ever change your mind and want to sell, you can contact me. I'll offer you a price you can't refuse."

Wang Linchi nodded. "I'll keep that in mind."

He had no reason to offend Ye Tian. He felt Ye Tian must know some secrets; otherwise, how could he be the number one Player on the ranks? Only by exploiting an initial information gap, getting a step ahead of everyone, and then using further information gaps to solidify that advantage could one reach the top. Wang Linchi didn't believe it was solely due to ability. If one person alone could dominate the top rank, Wang Linchi would accept it; after all, all resources would be stacked on that individual. But to also carry a group of eye candy onto the ranks... did that mean only Ye Tian had ability, and everyone else was incompetent?

"Shall we team up for a dungeon run? Rewards can be split based on contribution," Ye Tian invited.

"That's very kind of you, but I'd rather not piggyback off your top-ranked status," Wang Linchi immediately declined. Judging by Ye Tian's words and actions, he exuded an air of superiority. Wang Linchi didn't know where this superiority came from, but he was certain Ye Tian was harder to deal with than Yan Ming King. Although Yan Ming King had a stellar reputation, he wasn't arrogant. As long as you didn't provoke or mock him, he treated everyone as equals and wasn't conceited.

Ye Tian's attitude clearly showed he was just trying to figure out how I managed to clear an Abyss Difficulty dungeon. My method has no real technique; it's just simple, brute-force use of the plug-in, and then snowballing the advantage.

"Perhaps next time then," Ye Tian said, not pressing further. Since Wang Linchi was unwilling, there was nothing he could do. Attacking another Player in the main city was forbidden and would result in a red name, indicating negative reputation. As for keeping an eye on Wang Linchi, he didn't have the time. It was just good Luck they had run into each other this time; otherwise, he wouldn't have gone out of his way to find him. Between grinding levels, running dungeons, and doing main storyline quests, he simply didn't have that much spare time.

After speaking, Ye Tian led his entourage of female Players straight into a dungeon. Wang Linchi had no idea which dungeon they entered, nor did he care, but it was most likely a Nightmare Difficulty one; an Abyss Difficulty dungeon would likely be impossible for them to clear.

"Bro, do you know Demon Slayer?" a nearby Player sidled up and asked.

"Don't know him. What's up?" Wang Linchi replied, giving the Player a sideways glance.

The Player looked at Wang Linchi, then at his ID, and promptly latched onto Wang Linchi's legs. "Great God, please carry me through a dungeon! I don't ask for much, just want to leech off the first-clear rewards!"

Wang Linchi's reputation was no less than Ye Tian's. While Ye Tian was the number one Player on the ranks, Wang Linchi had cleared Abyss Difficulty dungeons twice. Initially, many had been dismissive, thinking that if Wang Linchi could clear it at his level, so could they. It seemed like a reasonable assumption, given Wang Linchi's deceptively low level. However, the Abyss Difficulty dungeons didn't coddle anyone. To this day, Wang Linchi was the only one to have cleared Abyss Difficulty dungeons twice; everyone else, even the top-tier Players, was still getting trounced.

This Player's actions naturally attracted attention, and soon, more and more people gathered around, giving Wang Linchi a headache.

"Let go of me, or I'm activating the anti-harassment System," Wang Linchi warned.

"Then let's team up first! Great God, you carry me..."

CRACK!

Before the Player could finish his sentence, Wang Linchi had already applied to the System. The request was approved quickly, activating the anti-harassment System. A thunderbolt struck the Player, sending him straight back to the resurrection point in the main city. The System was enabled by default for female Players, but male Players had to apply for it themselves.

This act startled many onlookers, deterring those who had been thinking of shamelessly clinging to Wang Linchi. Dying once meant losing a level. If struck by the System's Judgment Thunder, the Player would also receive a negative status effect: all attributes -10% for 24 hours. This debuff could stack. The more warning stacks accumulated, the more attributes would be penalized, and it would also reduce drop rates, gains, and other things.

Seeing that he had regained control of the situation, Wang Linchi paid them no more mind. He quickly selected a dungeon and entered it on Abyss Difficulty.

This left the crowd of Players looking at each other in dismay.

"Isn't this Calligraphy Linchi a bit too standoffish? He didn't say a single word."

"Yeah, and he even got someone killed. Compared to Demon Slayer, he's way different."

"Exactly! There must be something wrong with a guy like that."

Some of the discontented Players began to spew malicious words.
