Chapter 261 Guardian Beast

Shen Jingqi and Lin Yue followed the footsteps of the mysterious figure, slowly walking towards the depths of the light.

The light, like a winding ribbon, shimmered with a strange and enchanting glow in the darkness.

Shen Jingqi frowned slightly, his eyes revealing a hint of caution and curiosity. He occasionally glanced around, trying to catch some clues from the darkness.

They finally passed through the light and stood in a relatively open area of the cave.

At that moment, a low roar suddenly echoed from the cave. The sound seemed to come from the depths of Hell, filled with endless rage and evil, sending chills down their spines. Shen Jingqi and Lin Yue's bodies instantly tensed, and they pressed closely together, watching their surroundings vigilantly.

Shen Jingqi swiftly drew the weapon from his waist, a mysterious longsword obtained unexpectedly while exploring the Power of Chaos. The sword's blade emitted a ghostly blue glow, as if it contained infinite power. He gripped the hilt tightly, his palm already sweating, but his gaze remained firm.

Suddenly, a shadow darted out from the corner of the cave. The shadow was agile and moved swiftly, like a fierce beast. Its speed was so fast that it appeared before them in an instant.

"Ah!" Lin Yue involuntarily stepped back, nearly falling to the ground.

The shadow let out a low growl and then slowly stopped. Its eyes, glowing with an eerie light, tightly fixed on Shen Jingqi and Lin Yue, scrutinizing them like prey.

Shen Jingqi gripped the longsword in his hand tightly and shouted, "Who are you? What do you want?" His voice carried a hint of authority, as if declaring his sovereignty to the shadow.

The shadow did not respond, simply standing there silently, confronting them. The atmosphere in the cave grew exceptionally tense, as if a needle dropped to the ground would make a thunderous sound.

Time seemed to freeze, every second stretching listlessly. Shen Jingqi stared intently at the shadow, attempting to find some clues in its movements and gaze. Lin Yue stayed pressed closely behind Shen Jingqi, clutching his clothes tightly, not daring to make a sound.

At that moment, the shadow suddenly let out an eerie laugh, as if it came from another world, filled with malevolence and eeriness. Shen Jingqi and Lin Yue felt a jolt in their hearts, knowing that danger might be imminent.

However, the shadow did not launch an attack. It stepped into the light, revealing the figure that had brought them for special training, "This is the Guardian Beast."

The Guardian Beast was enormous, exuding a powerful aura from every inch of its body. Its eyes, like burning flames, focused intently on Shen Jingqi and Lin Yue.

"This Guardian Beast is too powerful," Shen Jingqi said.

"That's why, together with the Guardian Beast, I will accompany you for special training," the shadow's voice carried no emotion.

The dim cave entrance, like the gaping mouth of a giant beast, appeared deep and mysterious. Shen Jingqi and Lin Yue stood at the entrance, their hearts filled with trepidation and anticipation.

"Are you both ready?" a low, hoarse voice sounded behind them. The two turned sharply, seeing a tall figure wrapped in a black robe standing there, face hidden, exposing only a pair of eyes as deep as the night.

"We're ready!" Shen Jingqi and Lin Yue replied in unison, their voices carrying a hint of tremor, uncertain whether it was excitement or fear.

The figure nodded slightly and led the way into the cave. Shen Jingqi and Lin Yue exchanged a glance, taking a deep breath before following closely.

As soon as they entered the cave, a chill enveloped them, like countless icy hands gently caressing their cheeks. A faint mist filled the cave, making the view blurry, barely allowing them to make out the silhouette of the figure in the black robe ahead.

"Stay close, don't get lost," the voice of the black-robed figure echoed in the cave, carrying an undeniable authority.

Shen Jingqi and Lin Yue pressed tight against each other, walking cautiously. The ground beneath was rugged and uneven, with pebbles occasionally rolling about, creating clear, crisp sounds that were especially jarring in the silent cave.

"How deep is this cave anyway?" Lin Yue asked softly, her voice tinged with nervousness.

"I don't know, but since Senior Ran brought us here, there must be a reason," Shen Jingqi reassured, though he wasn't entirely confident himself.

As they ventured deeper, strange symbols and patterns began to appear on the cave walls. The symbols were crooked, like some ancient script, yet entirely incomprehensible. The patterns depicted bizarre creatures, including serpents with wings and lions with multiple heads, causing an involuntary shiver.

"What are these things?" Lin Yue asked, pointing at the patterns on the walls.

The black-robed figure stopped and slowly turned around. "These are mysterious marks from ancient times, containing immense power. Today, you'll draw strength from these marks to complete this special training."

Shen Jingqi and Lin Yue exchanged a surprised glance; they hadn't expected the special training to involve ancient mystical forces. Their curiosity and anticipation were instantly ignited, albeit mixed with a hint of anxiety.

"What should we do, Senior?" Shen Jingqi asked.

"Feel with your heart and communicate with your soul," the black-robed figure said before turning again to continue onward.

Both took a deep breath, striving to calm themselves and began focusing on the symbols and patterns on the wall. Initially, they seemed chaotic and confusing, but gradually, they sensed a faint energy emanating from the symbols and patterns, like fine threads gently touching their souls.

Shen Jingqi closed his eyes, concentrating, trying to establish a connection with the energy. It felt like he had entered a strange world, surrounded by endless darkness, with only the glow of the symbols and patterns. He reached out, attempting to grasp the light, only to find he couldn't touch them.

"What's happening?" Shen Jingqi felt a bit anxious.

Just then, a voice resonated in his mind: "Don't rush. Feel their frequency and resonate with them."

Shen Jingqi tried to calm himself, following the guidance of the voice, adjusting his breathing and heartbeat, allowing his soul to gradually synchronize with the energies. Slowly, he sensed a subtle connection forming, as if the energies became part of his body.

Meanwhile, Lin Yue was undergoing a similar process. She felt as though she was in a mystical garden where the symbols and patterns transformed into peculiar flowers, emitting an enchanting fragrance. She became immersed, blending with the flowers, feeling the power they held.

However, just as they were immersed in communicating with the mysterious energies, a low roar suddenly echoed through the cave. The sound seemed to come from the depths of Hell, filled with anger and malevolence.
