After being told by Oliver, Aiden had to halt what he was doing with the system to go answer the summon of the Grand Magus.
"Come in," Thamoryn answered the door from her seat within her chambers.
Aiden stepped in after, and Thamoryn said with a smile on her face, "Seems you've been taking a few lessons in manners. I was expecting you to enter in disrespectfully with your portal."
He chuckled at the remark and said, "I've come at the behest of your summons, Grand Magus."
Then Thamoryn told him the purpose of why she called, "Yes, and I'll get down to it. I called you here to inform you to prepare yourself accordingly. In the coming days, you'll be invited to the Lord's palace once more, and you'll be expected to give an account of any information we deem is necessary to winning this war."
There was a brief pause, before she added, "This will include things like the magic of the captains, the Grand Magus, and any other notable mages. What we should and shouldn't expect. Given how powerful a mage you are, I'm quite sure you picked up a thing or two prior to coming to Xathia. That is exactly what we'll be counting on."
Aiden looked at her without an expression on his features, but this was another annoying situation to be in. He barely knew anything about Dragonhold mages, especially as he never got into its Academy.
Thamoryn got no expression out of Aiden, but she didn't mind it either. She was sure that her message had been passed appropriately.
Then she added, "Your Captain gave me a full report of the S-Rank Dungeon clearing, and my did she give you every possible acknowledgement. Your potential exceeds imaginations, and so I'll extend you this offer but once. When this war is over and we have claimed Dragonhold, I would like you to come under my tutelage."
Aiden was taken aback a little. Thamoryn never did anything without a reason, and with his little experience so far in Xathia, it was pretty obvious that she was trying to keep even closer tabs on him.
"So what do you say?" Thamoryn pressed further. "Or perhaps you need time to think it over?"
Aiden's face contorted into a smile, "Of course not. It'll be my honor, Grand Magus."
Who said it couldn't be a mutually benefiting relationship? Being under her tutelage meant he could learn and copy more magic forms, and additionally he was certain that he could control the flow of their relationship and make sure she only knew what he wanted her to.
Thamoryn said, "Oh and one more thing, I've put an end to the punishment you've been carrying out. I also threw away the silly petition against you, but in the meantime, will you try not to get into more fights with the assembly?"
Aiden laughed a bit and said, "It is understood."
"Very good, that'll be all," she said, effectively dismissing him.
Aiden then turned and instantly teleported away using the transport magic, instead of walking out as he entered.
Thamoryn sighed, "And here I thought he grew some manners."
-----
Aiden made a reappearance back in his room, and at that moment, he got a new notification from his system.
[Daily Mission: Sweep the Corridors Of The Fractured Stars Guild and Muck Out Their Horse Stalls → Complete]
[+5 Available Stats Points]
[You have gained +50,000xp]
[Bonus Reward +35,000xp granted]
[XP Boost Badge: Extra +255,000 xp granted]
[All Daily Missions Regarding these very instructions have ceased]
[New Daily Missions to be assigned starting tomorrow]
Aiden offered no reaction to it. Although in the end he didn't mind having his avatars do them, he truly never liked that mission.
He thought back briefly to what the Grand Magus invited him for, and that gave him some serious worry. Each day that passed only drew closer to this War and admittedly there were different factors he hadn't taken into account yet.
Aiden sighed, "System let's finish up quickly so that I can put this war thing into perspective"
He opted to finish up on what had to be done with the system before proceeding with devising a proper plan on how this war should play out.
[All that is left now is deciding how to proceed with the Rune stones]
Aiden put out his palm and made both stones float above it from the inventory. He picked the time-stop rune and broke it within his grip.
[You have temporarily gained a Time Authority skill: Time stop]
[Time stop → Host is able to stop the flow of time over any range]
[This skill can only be used once. Host is to choose moment wisely]
'Over any range' was an interesting phrase, and Aiden repeated again, "Over any range you say? The entire continent perhaps?"
[If you see fit, the very planet as well, and even then it could scale beyond. Such is the power of the authority at the level of a dragon]
Aiden blinked more times in a single second as he read that message. He was the host of the dragon king system, but right now it felt like he was only just beginning to understand the true scale of the power they held.
[Warning: The amount of Mana this borrowed skill will drain is dependent on the range of effect the Host wills. Be mindful of this fact given your current level]
Aiden nodded, "Duly noted."
Then he held the other rune stone in hand and asked, "So what happens if I decide to use the experience points I have acquired so far in ranking up, before breaking the rune stone to proceed ten levels ahead?"
[It won't work that way. Cronyssia's boon takes into account how far you've progressed as a dragon and scales you up to an exact point in time]
[To put it simply with an instance, if your current experience points take you up about 3 levels, the rune stone of development will only take you further 7 levels, and no more than 10]
Aiden sighed, "That's unfortunate."
It meant it was the smarter option to conserve the experience points or at least level up next.
Aiden then took hold of the stone and broke it under his grip.
[The System will then apply the effects of the rune stone of development]
[You have leveled up]
[You have leveled up]
[You have leveled up]
[You have leveled up]
[You have leveled up]
[You have leveled up]
[You have leveled up]
[You have leveled up]
[You have leveled up]
[You have leveled up]
[Host has ranked up and will now be referred to as Wyrm]
At that moment, Aiden felt the welling of so much mana within him. The amount of magic power he exuded was so much that every mage in the Academy stopped in their tracks and turned towards the direction of that sudden burst of magic power.
The Captains in their different guilds all reacted towards the insane magic power, each one temporarily halting what it was they did.
"What is this magic power?" Thamoryn said to herself within her chambers.
The members of the Ravens Grave Guild felt the effects of the mana the most, especially as they were in the closest proximity to it.
You could see everyone sweating from sudden nervousness and the pressure of such dense mana, that some of them had forgotten to breathe.
Katherine's eyes nearly fell out of their sockets from shock, and she was not an exception to the nervousness it caused to other members of her guild.
[The Host has undergone Qualitative Change]
