"Alright," he said finally. "Alright. If that's what you both want." He met their eyes. "Then I'll do it."
Laela's expression softened into a smile, and Arianna smiled faintly too.
Then Laela stepped in closer and kissed him on the lips. Her cheeks went red and she said, "Goodnight Aiden" then turned away to leave.
"Goodnight Aiden" Arianna simply said too, turning to leave, but then Aiden took her arm, which halted her steps.
He glanced her Laela, who gently nods at him with an approving smile. With that, Aiden leaned forward and kissed Arianna lightly on her lips.
Arianna's eyed widened in disbelief and her cheeks go red. She didn't exactly see that part coming, especially not infront of Laela.
"Goodnight you both" Aiden said.
Arianna smiled really hard, and then turned away to leave with laela.
….
Later on that night, Aiden was within his pocket domain.
And right now, he was waiting on Syra to be done laughing.
"Any moment now Syra…" He sighed.
Syra who looked like she was just recovering from several of fits of laughter, said in between laughs "but then look on the bright side, sex with two women, is much better than one."
"I cannot believe you right now" Aiden shook his head. "How can you be weighing the sexual advantages at this time?"
"Oh c'mon Aiden, You even thought of how good it'll be. Taking turns between hitting them both from behind, and having them scream your name at the top of their voices" Syra reeled in the excitement, while reminding of the fact she knew his thoughts.
Aiden turned his face away In embarrassment, "that's beside the point Syra…"
She chuckled, "You're unsure you know how to be a husband of one, not to mention the two of them. Well, take a page out of Alaric's book"
Aiden rolled his eyes and shook his head once more. Syra wasn't helping right now.
"You'll be fine Young Dragon, and quite frankly they are both wonderful women"
"Yeah…" Aide muttered, smiling at that fact as he thought of them both. Then realisation dawned on him, and he asked. "You were once in my position, how many men did you end up with?"
"Two of them." Syra said. "there were a few others here and there but nothing lasted more these two, Jaegar and Lemelion, they were my life partners." She had a smiling face but you could tell from the way she sounded that she missed them both.
"Hm.. So what happened with them?" Aiden asked
Syra was silent for a moment, and her smile faded. "They died in the war 100 years ago"
"I'm… sorry" Aiden said, almost regretting that he asked.
"Oh it's fine. It's my fault they died, I couldn't protect them" Syra looked sad now.
Losing her lovers had also been part of fhe reason she remained in her lair, barely choosing to leave.
A hundred years without them, also felt like an eternity of being alone. It affected the way she viewed life and that desperately made her tired.
So when the perfect opportunity brought along the right person, she chose to be done with life by passing the system down to a new host, Aiden.
Aiden could see the sadness in her face, and chose not to further on the topic.
Then suddenly, as if it had just occurred to her, she turned towards Aiden with narrowed eyes. "When last did you deactivate Dragon's sight"
Aiden scratched his head awkwardly, "Hm… I don't actually remember"
"You don't remember because it's becoming a reflex action, and beginning to feel as natural as breathing."
Aiden's red eyes weren't just active the whole time he was in there. They'd been that way the whole day and a few days before that.
"Well, my meter is at 69" Aiden said with a slight shrug. He always accepted the fate of being a dragon.
Syra stared at him for a bit longer and with narrowed eyes. "Hm.. you're approaching the state of being a dragon faster than normal… Oh this is Cronyssia's doing"
"How? Her Boon already leveled me up" Aiden looked puzzled
"Yes, but maybe this is probably a subtle effect to the boon, it's hard to tell, but only she can do something like this."
"Hm.." Aiden muttered, unsure what to say.
Syra carried on with an explanation, "When your meter reaches the max. Asides your appearance always being in your dragon transformation state, climbing the levels to Dragon King also becomes pretty fast."
"Wait… always being in the dragon transformation state? Can I not atleast be the way you were at the dungeon? Or a more human form?" That was the first time, the whole being a dragon thing worried Aiden.
Syra replied, "Oh yes you can choose to be in a more human looking form but nothing more. It won't change the fact you're a dragon still."
Then a smile tugged at her lips, "If anything, your horns will be pretty obvious"
Aiden shook his head.
Syra added further, "Without a doubt this is Cronyssia's doing. My guess is, given her warning, she wants you to become the Dragon King really quickly."
After pausing for a split second, she concluded, "I think you really need to find Cronyssia and fast"
Aiden sighed as the thought of finding the Dragon Of Time resurfaced once more.
There was however one more thing he found difficult to reconcile in his thoughts.
It was how he was going to tell the women he intended to get married to, that he had to leave soon.
——
The Next Morning
As he made his way toward the Thamoryn's new chambers, he felt the weight of eyes on him.
A pair of servants pressed themselves against the wall as he passed, they tried to maintain a normal expression.
A group of mages conversing near a window fell silent the moment they saw him, their whispers resuming only after he was well past them.
One man, older and wearing the colors of a House in Dragonhold that Aiden didn't recognize, spat on the ground as he walked by.
Aiden didn't react. He kept his pace steady, and his expression calm. It had been like this for a good part of the month.
Most People either outrightly hated or feared him, and the only persons who were free as ever with him were just his guild members.
He was after all, the bastard who had killed the king, and the son who betrayed his father.
Some people saw him as nothing more than the weapon Oberon wielded to claim a throne that wasn't his.
And perhaps they were right.
He reached the door to Thamoryn's study and knocked twice.
"Enter," came her voice from within.
Aiden stepped inside.
