Power of Runes

Chapter 348: Body Reformation (1)

Let's Start!!

Ash thought inwardly as he opened the status window once again and saw the hologram of a human body.

The hologram had nothing but a simple outline, a blank slate awaiting his design.

Now it was up to Ash to add the components he wanted, and the parts he chose not to touch would remain exactly as a normal human possessed.

The foundation of the human body is the skeleton structure as it gives the body its shape and support, protects vital organs like the brain, heart, and lungs, and provides a framework for muscles.

For this I will use the Ancient Dragon Bones…

These were the bones of the Ancient Dragon that Ash had stolen from the Dragon Continent. Their surface shimmered with a deep, golden luster, and their density was unmatched by anything in the known world.

Dragon bones are initially white when the dragons are young, but as they age and grow, their density increases, and their bones turn golden with the passage of centuries.

The more golden the bones, the older and more powerful the dragon. These bones came from a 10,000-year-old dragon, a fact Ash confirmed immediately using his Omniscient Eyes,

The amount of dragon bones I have could form more than a hundred skeletons, but that is not my objective…

Ash selected the dragon bones to form his skeleton, but he specified that he wanted to condense the entirety of the dragon into a single human skeleton, drastically increasing its density and resilience.

He added the Horn of Solareth as well. The unicorn's horns are far denser and stronger than even its bones, and this one was the strongest part of the Unicorn King. He included a few other materials too, carefully considering each for its contribution to durability and energy conduction.

Who says only materials can be used? The ability itself said, "The scope of transformation is limited only by imagination and available resources." If anything is possible, why should I restrict myself to dragon bones alone?

Thus, he decided to integrate Runes into the skeleton as well, layering them with precision to harmonize the energies.

**

[Skeleton]

[Materials] - Ancient Dragon Bones + Unicorn King Horns + Eternium + World Tree's Root + Soul Stone + Rune of Balance + Rune of Stability + Rune of Space + Rune of Life + Rune of Death + Rune of Concealment + Rune of Time + Rune of Harmony + Rune of Knowledge + Rune of Truth + Rune of Wish (Fragment).

**

The hologram transformed instantly. What had been a simple human outline became a golden skeleton, glowing and alive with energy. Each bone was packed with glyphs that shimmered so brightly their light scattered like a rainbow across the empty space.

I even used runes such as Knowledge, Truth, and Wish because I want to create a body durable enough to channel Runic energy formed by the harmony of all these runes…

Eternium was the strongest metal known, yet Ash added the root of the World Tree and Soul Stone just to test the limits of the body reformation. To his satisfaction, they fused seamlessly.

Ash did not yet know the powers this body would give him, but just seeing it form stirred something deep inside—anticipation, excitement, the pull of untapped potential.

Satisfied with the skeleton, he moved to the brain.

One by one, he began adding materials, focusing on each detail. The brain was not merely an organ; it was the anchor of his consciousness, the seat of thought, strategy, and perception.

**

[Brain]

[Materials] - Brain tissues of Hollow Mother + Pure Soul Essence + Rune of Knowledge + Rune of Truth + Rune of Balance + Rune of Stability + Rune of Space + Rune of Life + Rune of Death + Rune of Concealment + Rune of Time + Rune of Harmony + Rune of Wish (Fragment).

**

These brain tissues of Hollow Mother were taken when Ash had infiltrated the Dwarf Continent searching for the Rune of Harmony. He had fought the Hollow Mother many times before, but never managed to kill it —unlike the first time when he used the blood condensed with the power of Saints.

But the power of saints completely destroyed the body of Hollow Mother, thus Ash did not gain anything.

Only after when he fought the abomination alone in search of Rune of Harmony, did he managed to cut off its pieces.

And once he stored them in his Soul Vault, the link between the Hollow Mother and the brain tissue was fully broken.

He had collected these pieces for research, hoping to study the creature and find ways to counter it in the future. But now, they would serve a far more important purpose.

I added Pure Soul Essence because it should help the soul connect with the body even more…

He could have absorbed the essence to grow his own soul power, but he decided it was better to invest it here, into the body he was creating.

As he finished, a brain formed in the hologram. It was packed with countless glowing glyphs, and the rainbow colors shimmered through it just like they had through his skeleton, giving it a strange, divine feeling.

Ash let himself take it in for a moment before moving on to the next part of the body.

Step by step, he carefully selected every major organ and structure.

**

[Heart]

[Materials] - Heart of a Dragon + Heart of an Infant Titan + Heart of a Vampire + Heart of a Unicorn King + All the Runes.

Note: "All the Runes" refers to every Rune Ash currently has, so I won't write them individually in every section.

**

[Blood]

[Materials] - Ancient Blood Crystal + True Titan Blood + Phoenix Blood + Leviathan Blood + Void Dragon Blood + True Vampire Blood + Demon King's Blood + Unicorn King Blood + Primordial Serpent Blood + All the Runes.

**

The Ancient Blood Crystal was a golden, condensed dragon blood crystal he had taken from the dragon continent. Its energy was thick and powerful, and until now, Ash was not able to absorb it.

The Demon King's blood came from Orien's severed wrist. Since Orien was a Demon Prince, his blood carried the essence of a Demon King, making it an important addition.

The Primordial Serpent Blood came from Snow.

He didn't add all the blood samples he has because it might increase the complexity of his blood.

**

[Flesh]

[Materials] - Hands of an Infant Titan + Legs of an Infant Titan + Wrist of a Demon King + Flesh of Minotaur + Flesh of Orc + Flesh of Troll + Flesh of Ogre + Flesh of Demon + Flesh of Dragon + Flesh of Unicorn King + Flesh of Leviathan + All the Runes.

**

The flesh included muscles, skin, fat, organs, nerves, cartilage, tendons, and veins.

The hands and legs of the Infant Titan alone were larger than Ash's entire body and packed with dense muscles. They could have formed a body four times his size. But he added flesh from other strong creatures as well to make sure the body was capable of handling all the power he would channel through it.

**

[Eyes]

[Materials] - Eyes of the Cursed God + Eyes of a Dragon + Eyes of Hollow Mother + Eyes of Unicorn King + All the Runes.

**

[Mana Pathways]

[Materials] - All the Runes.

**

Mana pathways are the invisible channels that run throughout the body, though people call them by many names: meridians, mana pathways, qi pathways, ki pathways, and so on.

They cannot be seen, and after death, they vanish completely, leaving no trace behind. That is why no one can collect them. whether the person is alive or dead.

Everyone is born with these pathways, but not all people are the same. Some people are born with clear, open pathways, allowing energy to flow freely.

Others are born with blocked pathways, making it hard or even impossible to gather mana and grow stronger.

Those with open pathways can cultivate and build power over time. Their bodies naturally collect mana as they grow, forming mana cores that might have impurities, that are needed to be removed as one ranks up.

Those without talent or potential find their pathways getting more blocked with age, which limits their strength and prevents them from awakening fully.

In theory, even a child born without talent could awaken if their mana pathways were cleared at birth.

But infants are fragile, and their bodies need time to adapt to mana and their environment. If it was forcefully cleared the mana pathways, the infant will die.

And the success rate of this procedure is less than 1%. Thus, this method was not circulated and forgotten with time.

That is why there are no physical materials to directly upgrade mana pathways like bones or blood.

If I use the Runes to construct mana pathways, I might be able to channel the combined energy of all the Runes later. Nothing else could match this power except the Runes themselves…

After thinking it through, Ash finalized the materials for his skeleton, brain, heart, blood, flesh, and mana pathways.

Other organs, like the lungs, liver, and stomach, were already being upgraded naturally through the flesh of Infant Titans and other powerful creatures he had included.

He had no more materials left to further enhance them, and he did not want to make his body unnecessarily complex.

There was still the sacrifice part he had to keep in the back of his mind.

The hologram of his body now glowed like a projection of some divine being. Every rune, every glyph, every structure shined with incredible density.

From a distance, it looked like a normal human, but looking closer, it seemed as if his body was woven entirely from runes, shining in rainbow hues and glowing light.

Once he was certain that everything was set, Ash clicked [Next].

Instantly, the hologram disappeared, replaced by a new screen.
