Divine Awakening: My Game Drops Increase Infinitely

Chapter 55 : Surprise Attack (1)

"What the hell do you mean I should heal the demons?" QueenBee snapped at Hart.

Her voice was sharp, but her tone was restrained.

She couldn't risk letting the Ox Demon hear her outburst.

Even so, her frustration was real, and it was boiling over.

Hart flinched at her reaction and instinctively took a step back, but QueenBee wasn't about to let him wriggle out of this insane suggestion.

She grabbed him by the collar and yanked him forward, glaring into his eyes.

"Tell me, Hart," she pressed, her tone dropping lower but no less dangerous.

"What does that even mean? They're going to kill us all if we do this."

Hart looked away, unable to meet her gaze.

His silence did nothing but fuel her irritation even more.

"We're already weak and worn out as it is," QueenBee muttered, shaking her head.

"He believes it will work," Hart finally replied, his voice heavy with hesitation.

He slowly turned back to face her. "All he asks is that we trust him."

Silence.

The tension hung between them, neither daring to say another word.

QueenBee's anger gradually turned into confusion as her gaze drifted toward the battlefield, where Axton was still locked in a brutal clash with the Ox Demon.

The sounds of their weapons colliding rang out loudly, each strike sparking flames that floated in the air.

QueenBee's doubts were understandable.

She had seen firsthand what demons were capable of.

Their cruelty, their reckless violence, their overwhelming strength.

And now, she was being asked to restore their health instead of supporting her fellow players, the very people who would actually give them the numbers advantage in this fight.

It felt like madness!

"Hey, snap out of it! We don't have much time!" Hart shouted suddenly, jolting her out of her thoughts.

QueenBee pressed her palm to her forehead and let out a bitter chuckle.

"This is insane," she muttered under her breath.

Every instinct screamed at her that this was wrong.

But Hart and Khan… they were insistent.

Moreover, if Khan believed this was the right move, there had to be a reason.

There had to be.

"Fine," she said at last, exhaling sharply. "I'll rally as many healers as I can find. I don't have enough mana to pull this off on my own."

Hart's expression softened, relief flickering across his tired face. "I agree. That's a good plan."

QueenBee turned to leave, but Hart's hand suddenly held hers, stopping her.

She blinked and looked down at their joined hands, then back up at him.

Hart gave her a small, reassuring smile.

His voice was calm, gentle, and filled with genuine concern when he spoke. "Please… be careful."

At that moment, a light breeze passed over them, carrying away some of the tension that lingered between them.

QueenBee's hardened expression lifted. She gave him a firm nod. "I will."

"Shit!" Axton cursed, leaping back in rapid succession to avoid the lesser demons swarming him.

The Ox Demon watched carefully, analyzing Axton's movements.

The demon was patient and calculating, with its eyes narrowing with suspicion.

'He's intentionally dodging instead of killing them,' the demon commander thought. 'He's clearly strong enough to wipe them out… so why hold back?'

The Ox Demon's lips twisted into a sharp grin.

It slammed its hands together, forming several hand seals with its massive fingers before releasing a spell.

"What are you hiding, human?!" the demon roared, its voice echoing with battle lust.

"Hehehe!"

*Poooofff*

A massive cloud of dust exploded outward, forcing Axton to skid backward quickly.

His eyes widened at the sudden obscured vision.

"The fuck?" he muttered. "It still has more tricks?"

*Grrrrrrr*

From within the dust emerged a hulking beast, its heavy footsteps shaking the ground as it darted forward.

A thick, hairy arm swung with terrifying speed, cutting through the air toward Axton.

"It's fast…!"

*Whoooosh*

Axton narrowly avoided the strike, flipping backward as the attack crashed into the ground with a deafening sound.

The impact sent a shockwave through the battlefield, scattering nearby demons and players alike.

The lesser demons weren't spared.

The beast's wild attack crushed them under its massive arm.

Axton landed on his feet, catching his breath for a moment.

His sharp eyes observed the chaos.

'They don't care about friend or foe,' he realized. 'They'll even slaughter their own if it means getting to me. Reckless… but dangerous.'

The beast stepped forward from the dust, a monstrous bear revealing itself.

Standing at about ten to eleven feet tall. Its fur was scarred and its body was a living testament to countless battles.

At the center of its face, a X-shaped scar carved across its flesh, giving it an even more savage appearance.

*Grrrrrr*

The bear let out an earth-shaking roar.

"How about this, human?" the Ox Demon sneered from a distance, its massive arms folded arrogantly. "Show me what you can really do."

Axton remained calm, studying the bear's movements.

'I can take this beast easily,' he thought, narrowing his eyes. 'But the demon won't just stand there and let it happen.'

His gaze flicked to the edges of the battlefield.

'Dragon Claw should be making their move soon… what's taking them so long?'

For now, he danced around the bear's savage attacks, allowing it to smash apart the ground and slaughter anything in its path while he remained untouched.

'This thing still has tricks up its sleeve,' Axton mused, tightening his grip on his weapon. 'And the Ox Demon's fighting style… switching to long-range? Smart. He's trying to conserve HP.'

But Axton had no intention of dragging this out either.

[King Griffin Cloak]

The air trembled as he summoned the King Griffin.

With a shriek, the giant bird appeared, its wings casting a vast shadow across the battlefield.

Its feathers cut through the air like sharpened blades as it swooped down.

*Fweeeep*

A storm of razor-sharp feathers rained down on the bear, cutting into its thick body.

The beast roared in agony, thrashing wildly under the Griffin's relentless assault.

The Ox Demon's eyes widened in shock.

'The King Griffin…?! Then that means he was the one there…'

While the bear writhed in pain, Axton made his move.

He blitzed past the beast, his blade flashing as he diced through its massive body in a flurry of strikes.

He didn't slow down, his true target clear.

…The Ox Demon.

"Focus," Axton said coldly, his tone carrying a danger.

[Flash Sword Attack]

In the same way the Ox Demon had struck him at the start of their fight, Axton retaliated.

He used the brief second of disorientation caused by the Griffin's appearance and assault to strike decisively.

His blade tore through the demon's trunk with a vicious oblique slash, blood spurting into the air.

The Ox Demon's eyes widened in panic.

It roared and swung its glaive in a desperate horizontal arc, but Axton was already gone.

The move was too slow… too predictable.

He ducked under the swing and countered with another slash across the demon's abdomen, the force of the blow staggering the massive creature.

The Ox Demon stumbled back, clutching its wounds as it dropped to its knees.

Rage and disbelief twisted its monstrous face.

'This bastard… this human…!'

"Die… demon," Axton said, his voice low and lethal as he advanced slowly, each step carrying his intention to end the demonic creature.

As if obeying his command, the Ox Demon's body convulsed.

Blood burst from its mouth in an instant, staining the battlefield as it struggled to remain upright.
