Pope Arzhel had a baffled expression hearing Corey's words, and as he looked at Corey, he could not help but ask.
"I am the reason you're this strong?" He scoffed with a pained expression. "Don't tell me it's because you desired revenge so yuh decided to train as hard and much as possible? It's that what your talking about?"
Corey indifferently raised a brow. "So you don't even have an idea."
"What?" Pope Arzhel was confused, but Corey did not bother responding.
Pope Arzhel might not know, but what Corey was referring to, was the story the Pope had told him about a man who asked his God to grant him wisdom, knowledge, and understanding.
It was the words of the Pope on that fateful day that made him wish for unlimited wisdom, knowledge, and understanding.
If the Pope had not told him that story in the past, he would definitely not be this strong right now because he would have wished for something that would help him before the apocalypse began.
Although Corey hated to admit it, the Pope was the reason he had been able to accomplish all that he did.
The man he hated and desired to kill, was the man who was responsible for his growth and rise.
Fate could be sometimes funny and cruel.
What Corey did next was landing a solid punch on the Pope's face directly... or at least he attempted to.
Just as Corey wanted to punch Pope, a gun appeared in his hand and without wasting a single second, he fired it at Corey.
With the distance between them being less than a meter, and the gun being not just a normal weapon, but a Violet Grade weapon, the bullets fired should have pierced through Corey without him being able to react.
However, the moment the bullets were an inch from Corey's armor, they stopped.
No!
Pope Arzhel's eyes widened, and then a bolt of realization struck him when he understand what was going on.
The bullets had not stopped, but were still moving. However, they were moving at a snail's pace, almost like the bullets were in a block of ice.
"Time... Time moves slowly around you. What power is that? Is that the power of an item? A skill? Or one of the innate abilities of a Paragon?"
Corey's lips curled into a fake smile for a millisecond, and then he grabbed the nigh-static bullets.
A light smile filled with nothing but malevolence and coldness appeared on his lips as he looked at Pope Arzhel.
"You can have them back."
Pope Arzhel shivered, and then he tried to move, but Corey was a lot faster.
He flicked his fingers, and his telekinesis blasted the bullets into Pope Arzhel's body, piercing through his refined and powerful body with ease.
"ARGGHHHH!!!"
And Pope Arzhel screamed as he felt an unimaginable pain in his body.
Corey had not just sent back the bullets to the Pope, he had coated the bullets with his Phantom Plague Axe Heart Intent, his tribulation lightning, Painful Echo, Soul Entropy, and also the divinity of the world tree.
And that was not all.
Through his Eyes of Omniscience, Corey could see through the body of the Pope, and he could see the mana veins of the Pope.
And those were his targets.
Corey had sent back the enhanced bullets at the Pope's vital mana veins, and this caused the Pope to feel immense pain.
Corey's Phantom Plague Axe Heart Intent tore through his mana veins with a violent fury while sending poison that seemed to decay decay his mana veins and his mana altogether.
Painful Echo and Soul Entropy caused him to feel a lot more pain than usual.
As for the divinity of the world tree, it bolstered Corey's skills and made the Pope vulnerable.
Without caring for the Pope's screams, Corey punched the man with so much face that the bones in his face broke and his skull developed fractures.
Pope Arzhel flew and crashed into a tree, destroying and felling the tree in the process.
Corey took a step forward, and he appeared beside Pope Arzhel.
He raised his hand, and his telekinesis grabbed the Pope and lifted him till his face was before Corey.
He looked at the Pope with extremely cold eyes that could freeze even the lords of hell.
"That was for the people you slaughtered in my neighborhood."
He raised his fist.
BANG!
"That was for my dad."
BANG!
"That was for my mum."
BANG!
"That was for my sister."
BANG!
"That was for all the pain and suffering you caused me."
BANG!
"And that was for being so much weaker than I expected."
Thud!
Corey dropped the Pope on the ground, and as he looked at the Pope, he felt... a lot better.
Some might say that getting revenge does not make one to feel better or soothe the pain in their hearts.
But Corey was not going to lie to himself. He felt a lot better seeing the bloodied, broken, and battered body of the Pope.
He felt better knowing that he was the cause of the Pope's current condition.
He felt better knowing that the man who was responsible for the deaths of his family was in this condition and was about to meet his end.
And why wouldn't he?
There was no passing day he did not think about his family. About his father. About his mother. About his sister.
One of the reasons he chose to take risks such as undergoing the second tribulation of hell despite having an Infinity Crystal was because he needed strength.
Also, choosing to fight powerful beings and maximize his foundation despite already having a very powerful foundation was to gain more strength to be able to save his sister, avenge his father and mother, and also to make sure he never feels powerless ever again.
So why wouldn't he feel happy about the Pope's current condition?
He knelt and turned Pope Arzhel's face toward him, allowing the man to see the face that would haunt him even after his death.
"Where is my sister?"
