'Heir of The Lifeless Sovereign?'
Corey had a slight frown on his face as he looked at this title.
He then looked at the two skills he got from the Universal System as a reward for defeating Death.
Crown of the Lifeless Sovereign
Scythe of the Final Breath
It was obvious that the reason he had such a title was either because of these two skills or because he defeated Death.
He was not certain, and it was a little bit troubling that he had such a Title and because he decided not to look at his status screen, he didn't notice it.
'I wanted to start getting used to not having a status screen as quickly as possible since I won't have one in the future, and in a way, it was a good decision and good training for me.'
'I was able to learn and understand a lot of things, but not finding out things like this is somewhat troubling.'
Corey pondered a little bit on this title before he moved on to the next.
Since he was planning on unlinking himself from the Universal System, he decided not to stress himself too much on the title despite how ominous it sounded.
'Speaking of ominous, I seem to have gotten a lot of ominous titles lately. Even the next Title is an ominous one.'
'Plague King huh?'
Corey was a little bit surprised by this title, and at the same time, he was not.
The reason why he got such a title was because of Maledro's Gu.
After Maledro's Gu evolved due to the Maledro's Gu evolution catalyst, he was extremely close to getting this title.
However, what made him to truly get this title was because of the deaths and plagues Maledro's Gu caused to the numerous dungeons and monster settlements he explored in the last two years.
Just like in the open Trollspire dungeon where he used the Maledro's Gu to kill all the beasts and monsters in the dungeon, he also used Maledro's Gu to kill so many monsters and beasts that were nuisances to him.
The number of deaths he caused in the last two years with Maledro's Gu was what caused him to get the title- Plague King.
Especially because Maledro's Gu were essentially plagues.
He also got several skills from the Plague King title.
For example, he got skills like Plague Sovereignty, Crown of Miasma, Plague Genesis, King's Decree, and Throne of Pestilence.
----
Plague Sovereignty: All diseases, toxins, and parasitic effects within your perception and Tier instinctively submit to you.
The enemy's poison resistance is treated as two Tiers below what it's originally meant to be.
----
Crown of Miasma: A faint and barely visible crown of virulent runes forms above your head. When activated, it increases your poison lethality, the duration of your poison, and its mutation rate.
Your plagus evolve mid-battle in response to enemy resistances.
----
Plague Genesis: This skill allows you to create a new plague on the spot. You can have the plague to have many functions like Decay of the Flesh, sensory collapse, madness induction, soul erosion, and mana rot.
Your plague evolves autonomously after creation.
----
King's Decree: This skill allows you to issue a silent command. All existing plagues and diseases within a target's body immediately multiplies, reawaken, and synchronizes with one another.
This is irrespective of whether the disease or plague is from you or from another source.
You are the King of Plagues, and all plagues obey you.
----
Throne of Pestilence: This is an evolved version of Toxic Domain. When you stand still for several seconds, the land becomes a plague zone. The soul, air, water, and mana become carriers of your plagues.
The world becomes your throne, and it writes in pain as you poison it. The effects of this skill lasts even after you leave.
----
These were the five skills he got from the Plague King title, and Corey stared at the description of the five skills for a few seconds.
Although he had not checked his status screen for a long time, he already knew about all of these skills in the last two years.
And he was relieved and proud because he was able to understand all these skills without the help of the Universal System.
'The training I did is turning out to be extremely useful. Just like I suspected, one can understand skills themselves, but the Universal System just makes it a lot easier.'
'It allows an individual to have some knowledge about what a skill could do, and this illuminates what path they're to take in mastering the skill.'
'But there are many individuals and beings in the world without a system. They learn skills and unearth its secrets themselves.'
'Although this makes it more difficult for a lot of people, in the long run, I feel it's more beneficial.'
Corey furrowed his brows slightly, then he looked at his left hand where the Brand of the Universal System was.
'The Universal System is like a training wheel, and it has its pros and cons. But I have a feeling the cons far surpass the pros.'
Corey shook his head slightly, then he decided to shift his thoughts to the remaining parts of his status screen.
'Weapon Master and a Master of a Hundred Intents.'
These two titles were self-explanatory, and he should have gotten them a long time ago, but he just chose not to.
His instinctively knew how to use nearly every weapon one could think of, but the reason it never showed on his status screen was because he never trained in how to use a weapon.
The knowledge was stored in some of his Stars of Consciousness, and it was only when he needed it he began to unearth the knowledge.
But the moment he wanted everything, he only needed to train for a day with every weapon he could find, and he became a master in knowing how to use the said weapon.
Intents was the same, and it was also easy for him to get over a hundred intents because of his Stars of Consciousness.
'It would be a shame if I'm not able to keep my Stars of Consciousness honestly. They're very important to me.'
