RUMBLE…
At the bottom of the Great Void Ocean, the world shook as lava continuously began emerging from the depths of the fissures. Despite the tremendous pressure of the weight of the entire ocean, the continuous flood of lava from within the mantle of the planet could not be stopped. The lava emerged from within the depths of the planet at a terrifying rate, spreading across the depths of the ocean as the water cooled down the lava into molten rock.
The once dark depths of the ocean lit up with veins of lava and magma at the very bottom of the ocean, sprawling across the ocean floor, illuminating the barren depths of the Great Void Ocean.
The lighting source proved to be useful to the many parties from the many nations, civilizations, and species that had gone to the depths of the Great Void Ocean, directly or indirectly.
WHOOSH
Giant roots and aquatic flora moved through the depths of the Great Void Ocean all the way from South Genora as the light and dark elves agreed to conduct a joint surveillance and assessment operation. The sensitive roots could pick up on virtually all forms of energy signatures, and were built to withstand the pressures that mounted upon one at the very depths of the oceans.
They drew closer for scouring the environment, gathering information and samples.
They weren't the only ones.
Across the entire ocean, countless parties had sent their own surveillance teams, often comprising their most powerful technology and pathwalkers, such was the astronomical amount of pressure mounted at many, many thousands of kilometers under the ocean.
The Pasupati Clans of Kiriket sent their mermen and mermaids to scour the ocean floor and gather data, while the dwarves sent aquatic mechs that were designed to gain more information about the depths of the ocean. The giants simply sent giants without any further thought; they simply scoured the ocean with their senses, which were more than powerful enough to sense everything that needed to be sensed at the very bottom of the ocean.
The tekvores and evolutionaries both sent pathwalkers instead of some kind of technology.
The Panama Continent sent Martial Sages from the Marinaera Kingdom, deploying their own underwater specialists, using the World Bridge technology to deploy them into the ocean directly.
The Martial Sages of the Marinaera Kingdom took their job seriously as warriors representing all of Panamic Civilization. They remained on the wary even as they dove deeper into the depths of the barren waters of the ocean, aware of the fact that there were many parties in that very ocean, some of whom were hostile to Panamic Civilization.
Of course, it was very unlikely that what were meant to be surveillance teams would go out of their way to pick a fight with other surveillance teams. Especially when the catastrophe affected all of them equally and they were all there for the same purpose.
"We're here…" The Martial Sage, leading a group of five, remarked with a serious voice. His body was lean despite being muscular, as one would expect from Martial Bodies optimized for aquatic environments. His clothes were composed of a fabric woven from underwater weed, designed to be more seamlessly aquadynamic.
They slowly descended upon the ocean floor, laden with glowing lava veins that streamed across its depths. Streams of bubbling water emerged from the lava veins, floating straight up at a vigorous rate. The lava emerging from the cracks within the depths of the mantle was literally boiling the ocean at a slow but steady pace.
However, they noticed something strange amidst the lava.
Streaks of purple across the lava.
A rather odd color that one would not expect to see in lava that was composed of elements that one would expect to know of.
The Martial Sage, hardly knowledgeable in geophysics, frowned at the sight. This was the kind of thing that he would expect to see in the Panama Continent due to esoteric matter. He had been told that the true world had no exotic matter naturally occurring.
"Let's gather data and samples on everything," he declared.
They did just that. Collecting lava, magma, rock, dirt, sediment, and water were just some of the things that they made sure to get samples of. They also made sure they got samples of the strange purple mass within the lava, taking it back with them to the Panama Continent.
The geophysicists and other scientists in the Kandrian Empire eagerly pored over the samples and the data that the Martial Sages had gotten back from the depths of the ocean as they began conducting tests and looking at them underneath a microscope.
Most of what they saw was within their expectations. They saw a lot of iron and nickel ores that had emerged from the core of the planet, settling at the very bottom of the ocean due to their high density.
However, they also saw things that puzzled them.
The purple streaks were composed of a matter that seemed to defy gravity, accelerating upwards instead of downward. There was only one known particle within esoteric matter that behaved in this manner.
The very possibility of this shook them as they rushed to confirm or deny their suspicions, studying the particle and placing it in several tests to identify it.
"This…!" The lead scientist drew away from the microscope with an expression of shock. "These are negatrons! Amid the lava emerging from the very depths of the ocean!"
He turned to the Marinaera Martial Sage with a shocked expression. "Your Sagehood! Are you absolutely certain that you got this from the ocean?! Are you absolutely certain that you saw these purple streaks across all the lava?!"
The Martial Sage frowned. "We have documented everything; you can confirm it from the footage that we have recorded."
Those words sent the entire lab into a full-blown frenzy as they confirmed that all other samples of the purple streak in the now-cooled magma were all negatrons.
The shocking discovery begged many questions that they didn't have any answers to.
Why were there negatrons in the lava that emerged from the core of the planet?
Why was there exotic matter outside of the Panama Continent within the depths of the planet?
Nobody knew.
And yet, it was a discovery that changed the world entirely.
