"Rgh…!" the Martial Sages of the Marinaera Kingdom gritted their teeth as they struggled to withstand the sheer amount of pressure that was being mounted on them.
BOOOM BOOOM BOOOM BOOOM BOOOM!!!
The sonic blasts from the tekvore siege submarine fleet ravaged their defenses as they weaved through them, trying to get close and destroy them.
Of course, such a simple tactic would never work, considering just how their opponent was.
[Predictable.]
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMM!!!
The water around the Martial Sages erupted with a violent heat, causing their skin to burn while a surge of aquatically adapted tekvores charged forth with inorganic movements that made them resemble a game character.
Yet, their timing and placement were perfect.
BANG BANG BANG!
The Wavebringer gasped as a powerful surge of blows blasted her gut. She gritted her teeth as her palms flattened, unleashing a powerful surge of jabs against the tekvore opposite her.
WHOOSH WHOOSH WHOOSH
Her eyes widened as the crystalline tekvore effortlessly evaded her attack with the simplest of motions.
WHOOSH
Her attack crashed into an empty image.
A feint, of all things.
[You're more transparent than you realize, you know?]
BOOOOOOOOOOOOMMM!!!
Before she even realized, a giant's foot crashed into her from above, crushing her underfoot.
"Rgh!!!" She struggled to defend herself.
A surge of flora and fauna with the dark elven technology and the therianthropes charged to her rescue, trying to get her to safety before it was too late.
Only for a squad of evolutionaries to impede their reinforcements with a powerful barrage of attacks.
BOOOM BOOOM BOOOM BOOOM BOOOM!!!
The evolutionaries of the Army charged with great speed and power, adapting to the environment as if they were native to it. Unlike the giants and even the tekvores, their bodies were almost as suited to the environment as the aquatic therianthropes themselves.
They shifted their body shape, composition, and internal pressure to adapt to the environment of the ocean extremely well, allowing them to display a much greater deal of their power than they would otherwise be capable of.
The therianthropes gritted their teeth as they struggled to push through the evolutionaries, while the flora of the dark elves was already in a weakened state from the fact that they were underwater and from the fact that there were no Mothers of Nature nearby.
The combined pressure from the giants, from the Evolutionary Army, from the tekvores, and the many, many private-sector parties that sought to get a piece of the pie that was the Panamic Alliance proved to be too much for the alliance to withstand.
The wave proved to be too overwhelming.
On top of that, with each ounce of progress made, the aggressors began to grow bolder and more numerous while the defenders grew more and more constrained.
The Martial Sages struggled to deal with the ascendant tekvores and the siege submarines. The siege submarine units of the true world proved to be more than even the Kandrian Empire could muster, making them much weaker in that department.
They tried to compensate with aquatic beasts and monsters, and yet the exotic beasts and monsters of the Panama Continent themselves proved to be the target for the esoteric matter contents within their body.
"ROOOAAAARRRR!" An underwater leviathan controlled by the Elder Tree unleashed a powerful attack on the giants, hoping to throw them off the Wavebringer.
BOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!
And yet, the giants stirred by the attack as their attention turned to the giant underwater monster. Their eyes lit up with hunger and gluttony as they charged towards it with an aggressive gait.
"ROOOAAARRRR!!!" The creature screamed in pain as the giants began biting into it with a visceral hunger, causing the creature to bleed blue blood from countless orifices.
Lord Kurma, the leader of the Turtle Clan, charged towards the giants, seeking to set the fellow aquatic creature free from the predatory giants.
It was within NOVA's expectations.
[Oh no you don't.]
BOOOM BOOOM BOOOM BOOOM BOOOM!!!
The turtle shelled up, hardening with grim eyes as the siege fleets of the tekvores unleashed a destructive barrage of attacks against the therianthropes, preventing them from effectively serving as reinforcements for the Panamic Alliance.
RUMBLE!!!
The ocean floor shook as the roots manipulated, and the dark elves emerged from the ground, charging towards the siege submarine fleet, hoping to render them broken.
BOOOOOM BOOOOOM BOOOOOOM BOOOOOOM!!!
The tekvores intercepted all of them, using their superior firepower to utterly annihilate them.
Despite the fact that none of the individual attack forces were officially cooperating with each other, their efforts were more coordinated than those of their enemies.
The giants attacked the larger assets of the Panamic Alliance without needing to be told, while the evolutionaries focused on whittling down any of the reinforcements of the therianthropes and the dark elves. The tekvores added pressure while ensuring that the siege submarine fleet remained unharmed, continuously mounting attacks.
The private-sector outfits and mercenary groups that peppered the Panamic Alliance filled the holes in between the major groups like sand filling the gaps between rocks, creating an airtight offensive maneuver.
They steadily gained an unshakable advantage.
The crumbling Panamic Alliance, on the other hand, was poorly coordinated in comparison.
The Martial Artists fought individually. Something that was their strength in normal circumstances became a weakness as their lack of mass coordination caused them to fare poorly against groups that had much better coordination.
This flaw had never mattered before the Unfolding because they only ever fought other Martial Artists. But now that they were fighting against pathwalkers that could coordinate quite well, the flaw became more glaring and made a difference.
The therianthropes were well coordinated within themselves, but were lacking in numbers, with only two major clans partaking in the defensive efforts with the Panamic Alliance, while the dark elves were the most ineffective force at sea, simply unable to project as much power as the other two that were far from their base.
The monsters controlled by the Elder Tree's authority were almost more of a liability than an asset, with countless private-sector forces hunting them just for them alone, for the great Nam Ocean was too dangerous, while smaller groups of monsters were more manageable.
Thus, with each passing moment, the strategic outlook of the Panamic Alliance crumbled.
