The Martial Unity

Chapter 3590: Pulling in Protection

Rui heaved a deep breath as he fell into thought at his father's words.

Indeed, he had considered the fact that the Panama Continent would lose its protector. Shortly after the Unfolding had occurred, the true world had invaded the Panama Continent, and the only reason the latter had fought them off were the monsters of the Great Nam Ocean.

Those monsters were what deterred the true world from invading the Panama Continent for resources, and without them, that deterrence was definitely gone.

"The situation is different from back then." He shook his head. "We have the dark elves and the therianthropes. We also have the Hlakaschken Trade Empire and the other allies that you have managed to make. We also have a much stronger defense than last time with the beasts and monsters of the Beast Domain that have had time to recover since the Siege of Sages. On top of that…"

He directed a knowing gaze. "Negatron matter is probably more alluring to the true world than the exotic resources of our continent due to the fact that negatron matter is something the true world understands more and is directly relevant to the race to the stars."

Emperor Rael nodded. "Correct. But that is all the more reason that we can't afford to take a hard stance on negatron matter. The true world will not tolerate the Panama Continent monopolizing the entirety of the negatron matter emerging from the depths of the planet, and we can't afford an all-out war at this stage, we have not consolidated our gains yet."

Just a few months and a year had passed since the Unfolding, before which, human civilization had been ravaged by the Beast Incursion and had suffered a lot of losses. A single year was not enough to overcome all of that and reach its absolute prime in terms of battle readiness.

Human civilization was still installing the economic corridors that would allow smooth mobilization of Martial Artists, even if it had been highly accelerated thanks to elven wood technology. There was also the flora network that was also being implemented into the Beast Domain to create their own superintelligence.

"We are not ready for all-out war with the entire true world," Rui reasoned. "But at the same time, we need to acquire as much negatron matter as we can get away with. Which means…"

His dark eyes sharpened. "We need to divide the true world into those who gain access to the negatron mines of the Great Nam Ocean and those who don't."

Emperor Rael nodded with approval. "That is the correct course of action at this stage. Right now, the entire world, except for our few real allies, is extremely angry at us. That is untenable, sea monsters or not. I plan to allow half of the true world access to a greater portion of the Great Void Ocean than they would otherwise gain. Not just the dark elves and therianthropes but also the dwarves. It was foolish of you to antagonize them. We will compensate them as a gesture of good faith, I've already arranged a meeting with them and have informed them of my intentions to make it up to them. The dwarves have been decent to us and there are a lot of mutual interests between us."

Rui's expression finally grew a bit remorseful. "I should have been a bit more careful, I was feeling very euphoric with power at the time."

The Emperor of Harmony shook his head. "Thankfully, the situation is still well within recoverable. And all in all, your sea monster army is still worth these issues, even if it will be challenging to overcome. For now, I intend to reach out to several different power blocs in the true world beyond the Bournvyrne Empire."

He raised a finger. "I will attempt to reach out to the light elves."

Rui's eyes lit up. "You're hoping that under the leadership of Mother Maeria, a peaceful resolution is possible."

The Emperor of Harmony nodded. "In the past, the dark elves splitting up with the light elves was advantageous due to the fact that peace with the light elves was impossible. However, with everything that you have told me about Mother Maeria, it will be possible to at least arrive at a positive partnership with the light elves. Their hatred for you for being 'deathly' and have for killing one of their Mothers of Nature will not go away easily, but negatron matter is extremely difficult for them to reject."

Rui was pleased to hear that peace with the light elves was possible. "Mother Maeria is very nice. She will be a great ally. Especially since she's one of the top ten."

The Emperor of Harmony nodded. "It's truly unfortunate that the light elves are unable to project much power outside of their continent, however that will change drastically once negatron matter becomes more widespread."

Rui stirred with a knowing expression. "The elves have the most to benefit from negatron matter out of all the races, perhaps. It greatly solves their single greatest shortcoming."

He could already picture the elves getting rid of their range limits by projecting their nature manipulation far through negatron-empowered wormholes. For instance, they could open up a wormhole in the ocean around their continent where their influence was strong and then use that to project their power into the Great Void Ocean.

The elves would become a much, much greater force to reckon with once they integrated negatron matter into their organic biotechnology.

"Another bloc I intend to woo to our side with an offer of free access to the Great Void Ocean is the other half of the evosapien civilization," Emperor Rael remarked. "Thankfully, the Evolutionary Army only occupies half of Moridia. The other half is composed of a variety of evosapien polities that have formed an alliance to protect themselves from the belligerence of the Evolutionary Army. We have already spoken about making an ally with them before, this will be a good opportunity to seal the deal. They can serve as a counter balance to the Evolutionary Army."
