"A state of emergency has been declared!"
"Evacuate from the coasts!"
"Take shelter in your underground city shelters!"
The Kandrian Empire officially entered a state of national emergency. The emergency was both extreme and highly acute. The Emperor of Harmony didn't make a speech, and he certainly didn't dare come out in public to show his face.
He simply set the Kandrian Empire in a state of national emergency and had the citizens evacuate while Prime Minister Edward coordinated the defense of the nation.
He deployed their strongest available asset, augmented with their strongest possible augmentation.
"Be sure to eat the fruit at the final possible moment before the battle begins, Your Sagehood."
In a stronghold in the Sekigahara Mandate, Amare stood before an ethereal tree with a serious expression, nodding. Her amber eyes were sharpened with determination, while her brown hair was tied up in a bun.
"I've taken these before to fight against Anthea. I know how they work and how long they last." She plucked one, tucking it in her robes, before returning to the open world bridge that led her back to the Kandrian Empire.
"It's time, Your Sagehood. Grand General Edward urges you to head to sea immediately through the world bridge and intercept the giant before he enters the ocean from Samarkha," one official of the Panamic Alliance informed her. "We do not wish for the astronomically titanic creature to set foot in water. We would have to divert all of our resources towards mitigating the astronomical tsunamis his body would release."
"Understood," she nodded with a serious expression. "Send me right away."
A world bridge had already been prepared, dropping her off right at the very edge of the Continent of Samarkha.
The difference in daylight was stark. While the Kandrian Empire experienced a light evening auburn sky, the overhead sun beamed on Samarkha with a bright, harsh light at noon.
WHOOSH
She made her way through the world bridge as it closed after her.
The humid, salty breeze of the ocean brushed past her as the sound of waves washing upon the rocky coast of the Continent of Samarkha hung in the air.
As well as the thundering footsteps of the Suneater.
RUMBLE!!!
She didn't even need to strain her eyes to see him.
His body plunged far past the layer of clouds, leaving his exposed lower half the only thing that she could see. Her expression crumpled into one of disgust as she quickly consumed her Transcendent healing fruit, before activating Worm Step and teleporting right in front of the titanic giant who slowly charged towards the Kandrian Empire.
The giant paused as his eyes slowly shifted towards the tiny female that appeared in front of him.
Normally, a creature as large as a celestial body would not even be able to see a normally sized human being. But the giant had good senses and even better instincts.
He could sense the tremendous power radiating from the tiny human being.
He was accustomed to small insects holding the power to face him, having fought against the other races his entire life. Still, it was shocking how something this small could radiate this much power.
Amare immediately initiated a conversation.
"Suneater." She began, using Martial Art to project her voice so that the giant could hear her. "I am the Omni-Martial of the Panamic Alliance. We have detected that your trajectory of travel intersects with the Kandrian Empire. A creature of your magnitude will cause great harm to our continent. We request you to choose another route of travel."
She had been authorized at one attempt of diplomacy.
Yet, predictably, it didn't work.
"I seek water," the giant replied with a destructively loud voice. "I have been informed that the water that I seek exists within the Kandrian Empire. And so…"
A dangerous glint emerged in his eyes.
"I will obtain the water I seek, one way or another."
Amare's amber eyes flared with power. "I'm afraid we cannot allow that. Desist in doing so, lest I use force to stop you."
The giant actually chuckled at those words, causing periodic shockwaves to wash over Amare.
"A minute insect such as yourself does not possess the power to halt the gait of the most powerful entity in this world."
It appeared that he had an ego, despite his calm and composure, that matched his size.
His eyes shifted away from her and back to his target before attempting to take one more step in that direction. Yet, before his foot could even touch the ground, he experienced a shockingly heavy impact to his body.
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!!
Amare unleashed an attack of extraordinary power, deploying as much materia prima as she was able to gather from within the depths of her body before unleashing it upon her enemy.
The force was enough to halt his step forward, causing him to take his foot back.
RUMBLE!!!!!!
Yet, her expression only grew grave as she saw that it was barely the equivalent of a shove.
It was so insignificant that the giant merely frowned lightly, directing a glance of faint interest as he studied her Martial Embodiment. He was overwhelmed by all the memories she had experienced in more than ten thousand years of life.
And yet, within those memories, he found memories of Rui Quarrier.
Memories of his power.
Memories of his Water.
His eyes lit up. "You… you know where the water is."
His eyes returned to her with much greater intensity.
"Tell me where the water is."
Her expression sharpened. "Never."
The giant gazed at her with unnervingly intense eyes before closing them.
"So be it."
RUMBLE!!!!!
The world shook as the powerful giant raised his hand, sweeping it against Amare gently.
It was an effortless gesture, yet it possessed the power to destroy a moon.
RUMBLE!!!!!!!
Amare teleported away from the destructive blow as it unleashed immense tumult across all of heaven and earth.
Ordinarily, even a planet the size of Gaia would not have been able to withstand such onslaughts without great damage to the surface. But because the core of negatron matter accelerated in the opposite direction of any force exerted on it. It served as a counterbalancing force that negated any external impact on the planet, allowing the giant to unleash his power without risking destruction to the crust.
RUMBLE!!!!!!!
Amare gritted her teeth as she found herself against one of the most powerful pathwalkers in all of Gaian civilization!
