The Fraud Heir to The Strongest Clan

Chapter 117: Trade Off

Dhein scanned the place and the pure destruction ensued by the behemoth caused his blood to run cold.

He also saw Zarria, his father, and some of his relatives trying their hardest to beat the colossus abomination. But when they laid their eyes on him, the tense and anxious expressions on their faces suddenly vanished and were replaced by relief and a bit of joy even.

His little sister was particularly overjoyed.

The once exhausted Zarria suddenly leaped from Axerion's arms and bolted towards Dhein. She instantly wrapped her arms around his body and gave him a tight hug.

Dhein's eyes almost exploded out of their sockets, veins appeared on his neck and forehead while his face became intense red.

He felt a few ribs cracking.

"Dhein!" Zarria cried, burying her face to his chest.

Despite the unbearable pain he was feeling, Dhein smiled and patted Zarria's head. He also missed her so dearly.

"I'm here now, Zarria. Leave the rest to me."

She broke the hug and looked at her brother with teary eyes. She nodded before stepping aside, giving way to the deadly, massive behemoth before them.

Dhein gulped. After lingering for a moment, he began to slowly trudge forward, approaching the very monster that all people avoided.

Then, Cyreth spoke inside his mind.

'Another star for me?' he asked.

Dhein scoffed.

"Fortunately not. Unlike before, I now have a unique power of my own."

Cyreth cackled.

'That pathetic sorcery you learned from those disgusting creatures? Don't tell me you really believe that you'll be able to defeat that monster with that.'

A grim expression darkened Dhein's face. As much as he didn't want to admit it, what Cyreth was trying to say was true. If divine skills couldn't even finish this behemoth, then what could the most basic ability in the demonic continent do?

"But what choice do I have?" Dhein whispered.

Cyreth responded.

'Let me out. I'll handle this easily."

Dhein clenched his fists and furrowed his eyebrows.

"But what if this is the last star you need?" he asked.

"This problem might be resolved, but an even bigger one will arise!"

Cyreth scoffed.

'You speak as if I'm an evil god.'

"Are you not?"

'I might be.'

An expression of disappointment crossed Dhein's face.

Cyreth spoke once again.

'But I'll give you a hint: This is not the last star that I need. In fact, I still have a long way to go.'

Dhein asked:

"Can I really trust you?"

Cyreth answered firmly:

"What choice do you have?"

After thinking about it carefully, Dhein decided to gamble once again. His caution would prove useless if this monster destroyed the world anyway.

He sighed.

"Make me look cool."

Cyreth laughed hysterically and then said:

'The coolest bastard in this world.'

And with that, the god of the crimson star took over.

Cyreth cracked his neck a couple of times before swinging his arms around, warming his limbs up. Dhein's body was already athletic enough to support his exaggerated movements which was why he decided that he was the perfect vessel, but he was still a human at the end of the day. Take the sudden pressure change almost killing him for example. Cyreth learned that he should still be careful in the things he did.

The behemoth suddenly stopped after sensing a new oppressive presence emerging. It slowly turned its head towards Cyreth who was fearlessly walking forward.

Cyreth knew that this creature was a product of a naive god's curiosity and an obsessed deity's craziness. This is why you don't take a god's consciousness, shatter it to fragments and let it evolve into abominations.

The behemoth roared. Before it could produce the deadly loud sound from it's mouth, Cyreth already disappeared and popped up right on the behemoth's face.

He spun sideways and kicked the monster in the nose. It was by far the strongest force applied to the behemoth as it instantly tossed the monster to its back.

The earth shook and dust exploded in the air. The once indestructible, immovable monster was now desperately trying to get back to its feet.

Everyone watched with their jaws on the ground. Their eyes were opened wide upon witnessing the true extent of Dheinyrus' power.

Sometimes, in the Divinity Clan, rumors within the members would spread, that they had never seen Dheinyrus use his abilities. And so, when he does things like this, they couldn't help but be lost in his overwhelming strength.

It made sense to them why he wouldn't spar with his cousins. He would completely shatter their confidence if he did!

They were able to sit back and relax while Dheinyrus showed the behemoth why the Divinity Clan was the strongest clan in the world. He dominated the beast like a god.

The overwhelming comfort gave Zarria goosebumps all over her body. The thought that she could finally rest and witness Dhein's power once again made her feel incredibly secured. But more than anything, she was exhilarated to see Dhein in action. It had been ages after all.

What was even more impressive was that he never once used a divine skill. With only his physical strength and flawless technique, he tossed the behemoth around. He moved faster than sound, so when the behemoth would unleash a sonic wave, he would dash and cancel it with an opposing frequency. It was nothing short of genius if Zarria said so herself.

"Now that he's here, it must mean..." Jovian mumbled.

Axerion nodded.

"Yep, Angelus' ass is officially grass. He might have destroyed the demonic continent while he was at it too."

Zarria threw them a glance and then went back to watch her big brother. Her admiration for him was only growing each second!

"He's a prodigy," she muttered.

Axerion let out a chuckle.

"That he is. It's definitely because he is my son."

Jovian rolled her eyes.

"If that's the case, then he absolutely surpassed you, Rio."

He pouted.

"That should make me proud, but why do you make it sound like it's a bad thing?" he asked.

Suddenly, they stopped talking when the giant behemoth caught Dhein inside its mouth. They watched in anticipation as the unstoppable bite force of the behemoth tried to crush the divinity's scion.

And to no one's surprise, Dhein parted the monster's jaws. He lifted the upper gum of the behemoth while he pushed down the lower. Then, he ripped its mouth apart using nothing but his raw strength.

The lower jaw of the behemoth was left dangling down its head. It thrashed around in pain.

Dheinyrus outstretched his arms and a sinister red glow appeared in front of his palm that was pointed at the behemoth. Zarria had never seen nor heard this type of power but at this point, she was no longer surprised by the things that Dhein could actually do.

This crimson orb that materialized on Dhein's palm suddenly shot forward, becoming a streak of red light that hit the behemoth's skull.

The behemoth's head hit the ground because of the impact force from the red orb. Before it could move and react, Dhein summoned a mysterious, glowing yellow cleaver sword in his hands. He then dashed forward with blinding speed and slashed the behemoth's legs one by one.

The bones that even the Sunderour couldn't cut through were easily severed by Dheinyrus. Cleanly at that. The behemoth was left limbless and crawling pathetically on the ground.

Then, Dhein jumped up in the air before letting himself fall like an asteroid in the sky. He descended like a meteor and slashed downward straight to the behemoth's nape. He moved so fast that the air molecules in the path of his blade had no choice but to move aside at an unnatural rate, causing them to be set ablaze.

And as his blade met the earth, the behemoth's gigantic head fell into the ground. At the next moment, the behemoth's body collapsed lifelessly, ending the struggle that many had endured over the past few days.

Dhein stood up straight and the sword in his hand vanished. He had just switched back.

He took a deep breath before turning to face Zarria and the others who were looking at him with disbelief in a positive sense.

"The behemoth has fallen!!!" someone announced from the crowd.

The soldiers, as well as some of the members of the Divinity Clan celebrated around the behemoth's dead body.

Zarria and the others stood up as well, ready to congratulate his victory.

But as he was about to walk up to them, he felt something strange.

For the first time, he felt a weight behind his consciousness.

A sense of occupancy within his mind.

He truly felt as though he wasn't alone in his own body.

Then, the fallen god's voice echoed in his mind. He was laughing mockingly.

A couple of seconds later, a pain in his head followed. He felt like something incredibly strong was pulling his consciousness out of his own body.

Cyreth's control over his body had grown stronger.
