"Hmm, this snack is really delicious! I think it would go well with beer."
Riki chuckled at Leon's remark.
The man had suddenly appeared at Natura that morning, knocking on the cottage door while Riki was busy preparing some venison.
Riki used some of the meat to make rendang, with plenty of spices, and cooked it for about five hours. Of course, Riki didn't do it himself; he asked Twaila to do it.
The fairy could summon the little fairies that inhabited the forests to be her assistants. She was a genius. So, Riki only needed to give orders and the fairies did it for him.
Besides rendang, Riki also ground the venison, mixed it with ground chicken, and made boiled and fried dumplings.
What Leon said was suitable for drinking beer with was the fried dumplings that Riki served him, complete with a slightly spicy sweet soy sauce.
"What time do you think it is, mentioning beer, huh? Beer will only worsen your body condition," said Riki, who was still annoyed by Leon's carelessness. Or rather, Leon just didn't want to know what was going on. Leon believed that whatever happened after what he had done was not his responsibility.
He was a truly laid-back jerk, but also a genius and needed by society. If Leon were a hero, he would have a love-hate relationship with the citizens.
"Hahaha, come on, Riki, real men like beer!" said Leon, raising his beer glass, which Riki had filled with black apple juice and a little lemon juice to make it less sweet.
At first, Riki wanted to drink the black apple juice during the day, but Leon forced Riki to serve it because Riki didn't have any beer.
He was a really troublesome jerk. But Riki couldn't kick Leon out because Leon had come to investigate Leni.
Leni was connected to Jack Handerson.
"Those are just words of toxic masculinity, Leon," said Riki, rolling his eyes in annoyance, then drinking his apple juice.
"What's toxic?" Leon furrowed his brow, "I think young people nowadays like to come up with new words that don't make sense."
Riki rolled his eyes again, annoyed by the indifference in Leon's tone.
"Toxic masculinity is a thing! Like when people say men can't cry, men can't say anything, men have to smoke, have to drink alcohol, blah blah blah, all of which will slowly erode men's health and sanity. You could call it patriarchy, I guess," said Riki, saying all this casually.
"Ugh, you sound like the next presidential candidate, bro."
"Don't be ridiculous! I can't even manage myself, how could I possibly manage a country?"
"Dang! That's deep, bro!"
Riki chuckled, then said, "Hurry up and go do your job if you're full. I've said what I know, and I've given you all the evidence I have."
Leon quickly finished two more fried dumplings, then gulped down his drink. He stood up and said,
"I'm leaving, Riki! Say hi to the others for me—oh yeah, can I eat lunch with you later?"
Riki snorted when he heard that, "You know the answer, right?"
"Of course you want me to—"
"You're not allowed, go eat with Hannah! You two are perfect for each other. You don't care about other people's safety for the sake of your goals! I'm the one who has to deal with the mess, you jerk."
Seeing Riki angry, Leon laughed, as if Riki was joking in front of him.
Then he patted Riki on the shoulder, "Relax, bro. After all, you are destined to save this world..."
"Why me? That should be Iron Man's job!"
Leon just laughed and walked away. He left Riki grumbling, annoyed by Leon's behavior. The older he got, the more Leon acted like a teenager going through puberty.
Leon was sometimes very mature and charismatic, but he had a free spirit that didn't care about his surroundings.
Riki didn't know, there were good things and bad things. Riki thought Leon was balanced, making it impossible for Riki to hate him.
[Are you ready for the second mission, master?]
Riki furrowed his brow. Second mission? Oh, Riki had forgotten that fighting the black fairy last night was his first mission.
"Can I just sleep in this morning? I only slept for about four hours, then woke up to cook the venison," Riki complained, stretching his stiff muscles.
[Alright, this mission can be postponed until later]
[Your health is more important]
Riki closed the cottage door, then climbed up to the tree house. He was about to go back to sleep.
But just as he lay down on the bed, he heard his smartphone ring. Riki quickly grabbed it and looked to see who was calling.
Riki frowned when he saw Anton's name on the screen.
Why was Anton calling Riki?
Reluctantly, Riki answered the phone.
"What's up, Anton? I'm really sleepy and want to sleep—"
(Riki, listen to me first, okay? I think this is important. You remember your father's cousin, right? That's Uncle Rino and Aunt Nela. He is your father's uncle's son. Do you remember him lending money to your father or not?)
Riki fell silent, trying to remember someone named Rino— oh! That sly man.
He was a man with the same greedy nature as Anton's father— or Anton's stepfather, Edward.
Edward and Edwin had several cousins. One of the most cunning was Rino. He was a cousin of Riki and Anton's father.
If Edwin is Rino's cousin on his mother's side, then Edward is Rino's cousin on his father's side.
All this time, Rino and his wife, Nela, had moved abroad and always said they were successful there. When Riki really needed help, they couldn't be contacted. Even when they could be contacted, they said things to Riki that were very hurtful.
"You're like a leech! Don't cling to other people. We are nobodies, just relatives by chance. If I had a choice, I wouldn't want to have a nephew like you, who only knows how to ask for things, Riki."
Thanks to Uncle Rino's words, Riki became even more convinced that he was alone in this world. He had no relatives left.
"What did they say to you, Anton?" asked Riki.
(Hmm, no, let's talk about it when you're awake, Riki. Your health is far more important. Sorry, I thought you had just woken up, but it turns out you weren't asleep—)
Riki quickly replied, "Tell me now, Anton! I order you to tell me what happened, NOW!"
On the other end of the phone, Anton, who had just woken up, jumped in surprise. Riki almost never yelled at him. Now, Anton could feel fear just from being yelled at like that. Riki was really angry this time.
(O...okay, calm down, Riki. Here's what happened...)
Anton then told him about last night. At that time, Anton had just returned from the shell beach with Sean and Sofie because construction had begun there.
Everything was very pleasant, and they returned home feeling happy.
Then the servant said that there were guests from abroad.
Anton was confused because he knew that no one from abroad would come.
When he met the guests, they were already eating various luxurious foods at the dining table. Anton, Sean, and Sofie were very surprised.
They were even more surprised when they admitted that they were Riki and Anton's uncle and aunt.
In fact, Anton had forgotten that he had an uncle like that. Uncle Rino and Aunt Nela still didn't know that Anton was also Edwin's son, still thinking that Anton was Sandra and Edward's son.
Suddenly, Rino said.
"Edwin owes me millions of dollars. Riki must know all about it. Hahaha, I won't demand payment right away. I'm not that cruel to my own nephew. I'll just stay here until Riki comes and pays off all his debts, okay?"
After that, Rino asked to sleep in the biggest room, which was Riki's room.
Then Aunt Nela said, "Riki is very kind, he won't mind if we sleep in his room."
Fortunately, Anton had whispered to the butler not to obey that order. Anton was afraid that there were some of Riki's personal belongings hidden in Riki's room, or important documents left behind. So they agreed that Riki had taken all the keys to the rooms, even the spare keys.
Finally, they gave up and took Sean's room. Sean didn't mind; he could sleep in another room. Fortunately, Sean didn't have anything important in that room.
It didn't stop there. Rino and Nela continued to make unreasonable demands after that.
That morning, Anton woke up to the butler's report that Rino and Nela had taken Riki's Rolls-Royce. Nela also brazenly opened Selene's room, took one of Selene's Dior bags, and used it. Nela also wore Selene's best clothes and used Selene's makeup.
Then, when Anton called Riki, Sofie was crying, being comforted by Sean. This was because Nela had taken Sofie's necklace and bracelet, which Sean had bought for her yesterday. Nela said she would only wear them that day, and Sofie couldn't argue, she could only cry afterwards.
Hearing all this explanation made Riki's head spin with dizziness.
(Riki, hurry home and kick them out, I'm afraid they'll take many other luxury items)
"Okay, but I might be able to come home tonight or tomorrow morning, is that okay?"
Anton sounded panicked, but then he said, (It's okay.)
Actually, Riki was also panicked at that moment, he wouldn't be able to sleep well.
