Mystic Eyes: My Eyes Steal the Laws of Cultivation

Chapter 141: The Source

After Shen Yu endured the pure blue Qi of the crystal for ten minutes, he felt his body being transported again.

Shen Yu's vision adjusted as the glow from the blue symbols faded.

He expected another large hall, another test, another sequence of events. But what he found was none of that.

The room was small. Extremely small compared to the previous ones.

And, unlike anything he had seen so far, it was the first room divided in half.

Exactly at the center, an invisible line split the place into two distinct parts.

To the left, the environment was blue. A vivid, pure, constant blue that exuded a clean Qi, like flowing water.

While to the right, the environment was red. A deep red that exuded a heavy, dense Qi filled with blood intent.

Shen Yu walked a few steps into the room.

When he tried to step into the red side, his foot stopped in the air, blocked by something he couldn't see. A smooth, invisible barrier was present there.

He raised his hand, touched the empty space, and his fingers stopped at the exact middle of the room.

He couldn't proceed.

Shen Yu tried to analyze the barrier, tried using his Qi, and tried to see if there was some hidden formation. But nothing in that room responded to him.

The room seemed completely empty.

No sound, no movement, no sign of a new test.

After a few more minutes carefully checking every corner, Shen Yu took a deep breath, sat in the center of the blue side, and closed his eyes.

He would wait.

What remained was to wait. And that was what he did, with the same calm and distant, yet disciplined expression.

He did not notice that, while he waited, a small blue point of light appeared at the top of the room.

He didn't notice when that point condensed into a translucent crystal. And he didn't notice when the crystal descended, slowly lowering until it touched his forehead. Entering his head without any resistance.

The crystal disappeared.

And Shen Yu remained still, meditating.

Several minutes passed before a sound echoed through the room.

Soft, but enough to make him open his eyes at once.

He turned his head.

And then, he saw Kyrian emerging from the red side of the room.

Shen Yu showed no surprise, only spoke with his usual tranquility.

"Kyrian."

Kyrian nodded slightly, greeting him.

"So you also passed?" Shen Yu asked.

"Yes."

"And the others?" Shen Yu frowned slightly, remembering what happened in the first test on the red side, what happened to those who failed.

"Are they alive?"

Kyrian noticed the concern and answered without hesitation.

"They're fine. I don't think they'll have problems. They should leave the tower when everything ends."

Shen Yu nodded slowly, and his gaze scanned the still-empty room.

Kyrian did the same.

It was obvious that there was no mechanism, no formation, no door, nothing besides that blue and red division.

Shen Yu sighed.

"I've checked everything. I thought the next test would happen here. But so far, nothing."

Kyrian looked to the invisible barrier between them. And before he could respond, the ground shook.

Not just the ground. The entire tower vibrated, as if it were being pulled in opposite directions.

Both braced themselves immediately.

A glow appeared beneath their feet.

On Shen Yu's side, blue symbols. On Kyrian's side, red symbols.

The light swallowed them both.

In the next instant, they vanished.

When they opened their eyes, they were in another environment. Even smaller. Too small to have any function… except one.

There was something in the center of the room.

No, someone.

It was a corpse.

Shen Yu felt his chest tighten for some reason.

It was a man with long white hair, wearing light-blue robes adorned with silver lines.

The body was intact and preserved, and despite being dead, there was a faint smile on his lips.

The man exuded the same energy as the crystal that had entered Shen Yu. The same pure blue.

Shen Yu felt an immediate connection, as if he were standing before someone he had known for a long time, even though he had never seen him.

While Shen Yu tried to understand that feeling…

Kyrian didn't look twice at the body.

His eyes were fixed on the man's chest.

Embedded there, as if it were part of the bone, was a crimson spear.

A spear that pulsed with the same blood Qi, the same pressure, and the same intent as that small drop that had sent more than twenty people to their deaths in the previous test.

The source.

They understood instantly.

Both energies, blue and red, came from these two.

From the corpse of the fallen cultivator and from the blood spear lodged in him.

Then, suddenly, memories emerged.

Shen Yu felt his mind being invaded by images, information, and emotions that were not his.

The memories came from the blue crystal he had received.

His vision blurred. He fell to his knees, breathing with difficulty, trying not to lose consciousness.

Kyrian brought a hand to his head as the drop of blood that had entered his body moments earlier released information in the same manner.

The pain was intense, sharp, and invasive.

But Kyrian endured.

The entire minute felt like an hour. When it ended, both were sweating, breathing heavily.

Shen Yu stood up first, his legs trembling, but he forced himself upright.

He looked at the corpse of the unknown fallen cultivator, and his expression grew serious.

Then, he bowed deeply.

"I understand your wish, senior. I will do my best to fulfill it." Shen Yu said, voice firm.

Kyrian observed the gesture for a moment and then looked again at the corpse.

But his eyes focused on the spear. On the death embedded in the chest of someone who, according to the memories he received, was once considered a powerhouse in the northern territory.

He murmured to himself.

"So, even someone like you… and the other… can die like this." He said as he raised his gaze.

'I am still really far from true strength.'

The two approached the body.

Shen Yu raised his hand, reaching for the spatial ring on the man's finger.

Kyrian extended his hand toward the spear.

As soon as his fingers touched the shaft, the spear began to lose its form.

It did not break, did not crack. It simply melted.

As if made of coagulated blood, returning to liquid state.

The deep red turned to liquid. The entire spear dissolved, flowing into Kyrian's hands.

Shen Yu watched but did not interfere.

The crimson liquid climbed up Kyrian's arms like a living serpent. Then it sank into his skin.

It entered his veins, mixed with his blood, and disappeared inside him.

But Kyrian could feel the presence of the spear, of the crimson liquid ready to be used at any moment.

Shen Yu looked away toward the corpse. And Kyrian, toward the empty space, lost in thought.

Both had inherited memories and the legacy of the two forces that created the tower. And now both understood their origin better than anyone.
