Building The Strongest Family

Chapter 374: The Report

Inside the expansive office room,Arthur was seated at his expansive black desk, his demeanor composed and posture upright.

The unlight poured through the tall windows of the Osborn Pharmaceutical and Biotech headquarters, casting a glow over the sleek silver accents in the room. The air was filled with a gentle mix of coffee aroma and the fresh scent of ozone from the air purifiers.

Standing opposite him was Garrick Thorne, the company president. Clad in a sharply tailored gray suit with a perfectly knotted tie, his tablet flickered with a wealth of data. He had been prepared for this meeting since dawn.

Arthur lifted his gaze from his screen. "Shall we get started?"

Garrick nodded and tapped his tablet, causing a holographic display to spring to life above the desk, composed of bar graphs, figures, and production statistics.

"As of this week, we've produced 6 million doses of ONCURA," he stated in a calm voice. "The Varenya facility remains our primary producer, with the Norvalis Plant and the Northern Division complex following closely."

Arthur leaned in a bit. "How much more can we ramp up production?"

"With our current setup, we could increase it by another thirty percent," Garrick answered. "But we're constrained by our material supplies. The synthesizer units in Norvalis are running at near capacity and will soon need maintenance."

Arthur responded without missing a beat. "Then let's set up another line. We can't afford to let maintenance slow us down; we have the resources to double our output."

Garrick made a note. "I'll approve the construction of a new synthesis line this afternoon. That should increase our total output to five million doses per week in about four weeks."

Arthur nodded once. "Let's aim for three weeks."

Garrick acknowledged with a slight smile. "That'll be a challenge."

"Then challenge it," Arthur replied firmly. "ONCURA is foundational for everything that comes after it."

Garrick refrained from pushing back further and rephrased his notes. "We've also begun expanding the South Plant, which, once operational, will add another million doses weekly. It's currently forty percent complete."

Arthur turned slightly toward the window, contemplating the news. "Increase the workforce right away, bring in more contractors if needed. Funding isn't the issue; time is what we can't afford to lose."

"Yes, sir," Garrick confirmed. "We'll reassign two additional construction teams from biotech projects to accelerate progress at the South Plant."

Arthur tapped his finger on the table with determination. "Excellent. Now let's talk about materials."

Garrick flipped through his holographic display once more until a new chart appeared, showcasing stock levels and usage rates. "We're currently stable with Osborite-7 and cryo catalysts; our stock should last us twenty-one days at our current production pace. However, if we double our output, we'll only have enough for ten days."

Arthur kept his expression steady. "What's the status of the next shipment?"

"Two convoys are scheduled to leave the Ridge site tomorrow," Garrick replied. "Each will transport six hundred tons of raw Osborite-7, which should be refined and ready within seventy-two hours. A backup shipment has also been authorized."

"Make sure they arrive early," Arthur directed. "If there's any hint of a delay, send escorts."

"That's already arranged," Garrick assured him. "We'll have security at each checkpoint."

Arthur nodded in approval. "Good."

They both paused for a moment, the gentle hum of the air system echoing in the room. Finally, Arthur inquired, "What about storage?"

"The cryo containment vaults are secure," Garrick responded. "Each site is currently housing between eight and ten million doses in reserve, and the temperature control systems are operating flawlessly. We've also doubled our backup power units, so even if there's a total grid failure, our stock will remain intact."

Satisfied, Arthur leaned back in his chair slightly. "And what's our plan for distribution?"

"We've identified all the key delivery routes," Garrick said, continuing his explanation. "Both drones and trucks are put to the test every day. Every shipment will come with encrypted IDs and temperature monitors to quickly identify any delays or tampering."

Arthur nodded briefly."That sounds promising. Keep up that standard."

Garrick then shifted his attention to another report. "There's one more challenge: we don't have enough cryo containers. The older models aren't lasting the full seventy-two hours as needed, so we need new ones."

"How soon can we get those?" Arthur asked. "The new designs will be ready in six days," Garrick answered, "but if we want to keep up with double the production, we'll need another shipment in two weeks."

Arthur's voice was calm but firm. "Order them immediately, whatever the cost."

"I'll handle it," Garrick assured him.

Arthur then glanced at another item in his report. "How many flagship stores do we currently have open?"

Garrick offered a small smile. "We have more than a thousand globally."

Arthur remained steady as he replied, "That's not enough."

Garrick agreed with a nod. "To achieve a global presence, we'll need at least double that number before we launch."

Arthur turned back to him. "Then let's aim to double it."

"I've already drafted an expansion plan," Garrick said, swiping through screens to reveal a world map lit up with blue markers.

"If we start construction this week, we can reach one at least three thousand stores in two months by prioritizing the major capitals."

"Use reserve funds for this project," Arthur instructed decisively. "No delays or negotiations, every flagship store must be ready before we launch."

Garrick nodded. "We'll utilize modular units. Each store can be set up in just ten days with pre-fabricated panels. They'll include full cryo storage, medical areas, and automated dispensers."

Arthur's tone remained composed. "What's the plan for staffing?"

"We'll relocate trained staff from our current branches," Garrick explained. "Plus, we'll hire new employees through Universities and our medical partnerships. Training programs are already underway." Arthur placed his hands on the desk.

"That's reassuring. Make sure they're fully certified before we go live,I don't want any mishaps."

"Understood," Garrick replied. "We're also setting up a 24-hour command network to oversee store operations, track deliveries, and manage emergency restocking if needed."

Arthur nodded in approval. "That's the system we need."

They paused as sunlight streamed into the office, casting a glow over the skyline of Varenya. The glass towers sparkled like gold, while white trucks steadily navigated the industrial district below.

Garrick checked his tablet again. "At our current pace, we can launch the ONCURA project soon. If we increase production, we might be able to do it early."

Arthur locked eyes with him. "That's too slow."

Garrick sighed softly. "That's really pushing it."

Arthur's expression was unyielding. "Then push harder."

"Yes, sir," Garrick responded.

Arthur stood up and approached the window, pressing a hand against the glass. From there, he could see the entire industrial complext alive with activity, cranes in motion, factories busy, shipping lanes teeming, all under his leadership.

"How's morale among the staff?" he asked.

"They're tired but driven," Garrick admitted. "They realize they're part of something bigger than just a business; it's a shared journey."

Arthur gave a slight nod of approval. "Offer bonuses where feasible, ensure they eat well, and give them breaks during shifts. We can't afford burnout before launch day."

"I'll ensure that happens," Garrick promised. Turning back to Garrick, Arthur added, "Now let's go over logistics costs."

Garrick tapped his tablet again. "We're using up our capital faster than we thought because of the expansions and supply chain issues, our costs have doubled but our reserves are still strong enough to keep this pace for six months without impacting dividends."

Arthur didn't hesitate to respond: "Spend whatever you need; we'll make it back tenfold once ONCURA launches."

"Understood, sir," Garrick said, ready to reallocate the funds right away.

Arthur leaned back in his chair and began lightly drumming his fingers on the desk. "How many doses will we have ready for the first rollout?"

"A minimum of twenty million," Garrick replied confidently. "If production stays steady, we could even reach twenty-five million."

"Let's set our sights on thirty million then," Arthur said with a nod. He wasn't that worried about this after all, under the Dominion Sanctum another factory was there producing ONCURA 24/7 so even if there is shortage, nothing major will happen.

Garrick couldn't help but smile a little. "You do like round numbers."

"I like certainty," Arthur replied.

Garrick laughed softly and continued, "One more thing: the packaging units. We've redesigned them for quicker labeling. Each package will have digital verification and tamper-proof seals. We're testing them this week."

Arthur squared his gaze at Garrick. "I want final reports in forty-eight hours."

"They'll be ready," Garrick assured him. "Everything's on schedule."

Arthur's demeanor softened slightly. "Good work, Garrick. Keep it up; we can't afford any mistakes. Once we proceed, there's no going back."

Garrick adjusted his tie confidently. "You have my word, sir."

Arthur turned his attention to the large digital screen on the wall, where live data streamed in from all three plants, numbers rising, shipments going out, scientists finalizing reports. It was a clear picture of order and control.

"This is progress," Arthur said quietly. "Each number on that screen brings us closer."

"Yes," Garrick agreed, glancing up at the display. "When ONCURA launches, we'll redefine medicine."

Arthur's tone was steady and serious. "Not just medicine, this will change the world."

They stood in silence for a moment, watching the stream of data, each shipment, each vial; every statistic was part of the intricate system they had built together.

After a moment, Arthur spoke up. "You'll personally oversee the new construction."

Garrick nodded firmly. "I'll visit each site myself."

"Keep it low-key," Arthur cautioned. "We don't need any attention right now."

"I understand," Garrick replied.

Arthur studied him closely before asking, "When can you have the next full report ready?"

"Six hours," Garrick said with confidence. "I'll have updates from all the production heads by this evening."

Arthur nodded briefly. "Then go for it."

Garrick picked up his tablet and secured the hologram before heading toward the door. He paused, looking back at Arthur. "We're ahead of schedule, sir. If we keep this pace, we'll hit all our targets."

Arthur didn't return the smile. "We won't just hit them; we'll surpass them."

Garrick nodded respectfully before stepping out.

The door slid shut behind him with a soft sound.

Alone in his spacious office, Arthur gazed out at the industrial lights reflecting in his eyes while below, factories buzzed with activity, trucks rolling out and drones taking flight, the empire alive with motion.

He picked up his tablet again to review the numbers, output, reserves, timelines. Everything was in sync. Everything was moving forward.

With a simple tap, he sent out the next set of instructions:

Double production. Expand storage. Accelerate the launch.

The message was straightforward, but the implications were huge.

Arthur leaned back in his chair, looking out at the city beyond the glass.

The world still had no idea the cure was ready. He was determined to make sure that when it did arrive, it would reach every corner all at once.
