Before they could speak up, Ji Zhiyao picked up his laptop, sat on the table, and carelessly placed his long legs. “How do you want to solo? You guys set the rules.”
“We won’t take advantage of people. Since we were the ones to approach you, you can set the rules.”
“Still stressing quite a lot upon your morals, huh.” Ji Zhiyao lifted a corner of his lips. “Custom mode, 2 rounds of 1v1, 1 round of 2v2, two of out three wins makes the winner. 1v1 refers to two kills and a turret, and for 2v2, I will invite a good friend to compete against both of you. Will that work?”
The duo looked at each other. At the bottom of it all, these rules were still to their advantage. After all, Ji Zhiyao would have to persevere through all 3 rounds, but it was different for them. Each of them would get a break during the other’s turn.
They had no reason not to agree.
“I shall not entertain, so you guys feel free to sit wherever.” Ji Zhiyao put on his ear-mic. “1v1, who’s first?”
The boy who was slightly taller between the two spoke up. “Me.”
“Okay, I’ll open a room and invite you.”
Ji Zhiyao entered the boy’s username, dragged him into the custom room in 1v1 mode, and began.
The position the boy played was mid-laner, and he used a champion that was vulnerable to damage but dealt high damage and moved slower. Ji Zhiyao chose an assassin as usual.
The moment he saw him lock in his champion, the boy sighed in relief at the bottom of his heart.
The 1v1 mode was really disadvantageous for assassins.
Especially for Ji Zhiyao’s champion, to develop well in the earlier stage, rounding up the entire jungle was an essential factor. However, in 1v1, the size of the jungle could almost be neglected. Players basically only relied on killing minions, killing opponents, or pushing down turrets to achieve their aim of gold improvement and leveling up.
Whereas the boy’s mid-laner was different; he was originally meant to move on the mid lane and rely on killing minions to advance, naturally having more advantage in comparison.
The match began.
The assassin and mage faced each other across a distance, both staying behind their line of minions, pushing forth towards the middle lane.
In the beginning, everyone was peacefully killing the opponent’s minions, both relying on the first wave of minions to move up to level two. However, due to knowing that it was impossible to kill each other with a level of advancement, the two crouched under the turrets, very assuredly waiting for the next wave of minions.
After the second wave of minions, the pair both rose to level three. Other than the ultimate ability, all other abilities were fully unlocked.
The mage that the boy had chosen was a pretty female champion, and her specialty was freezing. Her first ability had a shorter attack range and was able to attack in all directions; her second ability was a freezing attack aimed in a straight line; her third was an enhanced version of her first ability.
The boy first used the auto-attacks with barely any damage to sound out his opponent several times and realized that the assassin had nimbly dodged all of it with teasing movements. This caused him to panic.
He controlled his champion to stop under the base, then opened the in-game shop, and bought a blue potion 1 .
In the few seconds that he had paused for, because there were no more minions in the mid-lane, the assassin had arrived, beginning to push the turret.
The mage intentionally chose not to move, allowing the several auto-attacks by the assassin to strike her and reduce her health.
In an interval of the assassin’s auto-attacks, the mage suddenly grasped the chance, using her second ability right away. The gleaming light reflected on the assassin’s form, and the assassin remained still.
Successful freezing!
The mage moved in, preparing the first and third ability.
But the moment she stepped out of the turret, the assassin seemed to have suddenly come alive. With a set of combined abilities, the mage was taken by surprise and before she could counterattack, directly killed as first blood!
Then, the assassin made use of the ten plus seconds for the mage to respawn and rushed to the front line to push down the turret, finishing the minions.
“What’s going on?”
The boy was blue in the face. Indignantly looking up to stare at Ji Zhiyao, who had on a peaceful expression, and as if suddenly realizing something, he opened the opponent’s stats.
In the moment as short as the blink of an eye, Ji Zhiyao, as though having foreseen this ahead of time, had switched out his ability for immunity.
The boy violently hurled his mouse down.
Ji Zhiyao’s expression did not change, and making use of the fact that the boy’s mentality was still not adjusted, without much effort, he directly took the second kill.
He took time to move out to look at the streaming room. Basically the comments were all praising him for being good-looking and having hidden tricks and skills. Hence, there was slightly more of a hint of a smile in his eyes as he spoke lightly. “Let’s change over.”
He had just finished his sentence, and the dorm door suffered once more, being pushed open harshly. Only this time, the voice obviously belonged to Yang Bing the silly deer. “You people who don’t have a goddess will never understand me!”
