Chapter 1525: The Legacy of Sin’s Dominion (1)

"Thank you for your precious teaching, Senior!"

Ace quickly thanked the Ancestor of Profane Chains while suppressing his raging thoughts since he knew it wasn't the time to contemplate them while the latter was still in front of him.

Ancestor of Profane Chains chuckled with a hint of acknowledgment, "No bad. Only someone who could keep their heart calm in the face of power is worthy of my teachings. Those who tread on the path of Sins should always have such a mindset, or you won't even know how the Sins consumed you!

"Now that you have awakened the Law Sigil of the Sin Law, you need to be more careful because this sigil is like a living being. As long as you won't go against the Law Sigil's rules, it'll listen to you.

"But the moment you falter or doubt the rules of Law, it'll instantly cause a backlash or might even consume you whole by turning against you. Unless you have something that keeps the rules of Law in check, which is nigh impossible." Ancestor of Profane Chains chuckled in the end with a hint of melancholy as if there was an underlying meaning behind his last words.

Ace's eyes narrowed with a hint of shock because this wasn't something he was expecting. 'Who would've thought a Law Sigil could be so dangerous. However, the system once told me about the rules of the law, and only with an Order could one control these rules, as I had already started long ago.

'But I don't have an order for other laws, nor am I familiar with the rules so well. However, from the Ancestor's words, I can safely assume that the Order of Darkness can keep this sigil in check. Doesn't this mean I have nothing to worry about?

'Furthermore, if every law has an order, then what about the Unique Laws? Since they are born from a cultivator's unique comprehension of laws, they won't have an already existing order.

'Just what is the truth behind Orders and Laws? How many are there, and what kind of secrets are hidden within them? Who created them…' Ace's mind was filled with questions, but the more he thought, the more confused he became, so he decided to take a step at a time.

As for questioning the Ancestor of Profane Chains about his doubts, he wasn't an idiot to ask about an Order because that former might start doubting him.

Not to mention an Order was extremely heaven-defying. If the Ancestor of Profane Chains had the slightest idea what an order represents, his amiable attitude might not last for any longer.

Right now, the Ancestor of Profane Chains has nothing to gain from Ace because the latter wasn't worth anything in the former's eyes, and Ace was like an investment.

"I will keep that in mind." Ace quickly bowed in acknowledgment.

"I know you will, since it's for your good, or everything you've worked for will be for nothing." The Ancestor of Profane Chains seemed to nod before his phantom suddenly started to become transparent, and Ace also noticed this detail.

"Heh, it seemed my law avatar's time here is coming to an end. Well, I did create it when I was quite weak. It's been quite a long time since I have talked with a talented young junior like yourself." The Ancestor of Profane Chains sighed as if reluctant to vanish.

"Well, young one, since fate has brought us together, I know it won't be our last meeting, and with your talent, I know you'll reach where I am eventually."

'So, he's really alive…just how strong is he really, and where is he right now?'

Although Ace still has his suspicion, those words from the Ancestor of Profane Chains just confirmed his doubts about the latter being still alive and something far away from where Ace was right now.

"For now, I'll grant you your reward and a token of recognition that allows you to join the Cult of Crimson Vice. Although I'm no longer there, I've also left the next part of my legacy there. When you reach it, you must claim it, for only someone who acknowledged me can have it!" The Ancestor of Profane Chains solemnly declared, making the space around them tremble as if it were an order from a supreme existence.

Ace's eyes flickered with a hint of dread and longing when he felt the intent in the surroundings because he knew just that intent was enough to suppress him completely.

"Now be ready!" Ancestor of Profane Chains didn't wait any longer because his phantom was fading away even faster.

Before Ace could react, the phantom of Ancestor of Profane Chains suddenly turned into a bloody glyph and turned into a crimson streak and bolted towards Ace's temple like uncatchable lightning.

By the time Ace registered the Ancestor of Profane Chains' words, the streak had already entered his temple, and a thunderous tremor rippled through Ace's soul.

It was as if an entire world had crashed into his consciousness. His vision blanked out, replaced by a vast ocean of scarlet mist, woven with golden veins that pulsed with rhythm, each beat a fragment of law itself.

Then came the voice, it was deep and absolute.

"The Legacy of Sin's Dominion—that is the name of the path I created, and many covet it still."

The Ancestor of Profane Chains' words thundered across Ace's mind like a divine decree, every syllable carrying the weight of Law…

"This legacy is not a cultivation art, nor a spell, nor a technique that your kind could classify. It is born directly from the Law Sigil of Sin with the fusion of all Seven Sins into a living law construct. Only one who has awakened that sigil can cultivate this Legacy Art."

The mist around Ace began to swirl violently, forming massive runes of scarlet-gold. They hung in the void, slowly rotating, each rune shaped like a chain of light and shadow.

"Understand this, child, that the Legacy of Sin's Dominion is not meant to control Sin… but to command it."

Ace's spirit quivered as if the concept itself tried to brand its meaning into his existence. His Law Sigil of Sin resonated faintly within his soul, pulsing in acknowledgment.

"Through this legacy, you shall wield the essence of Sin in its purest form—not to corrupt, but to bind and devour corruption itself. The power to gather Sin from others and seal it, to forge their sins into power, is its first mystery."

Images erupted in Ace's mind as countless silhouettes, each surrounded by a faint shimmer of their sins: greed, envy, wrath, pride, lust, sloth, and gluttony. One by one, those essences were drawn toward a sigil, the Sin Sigil, and condensed into burning seals of crimson and gold.

"These are called Sin Seals. The manifestations of dominion itself. They may be used to attack or defend. Each Seal amplifies the user's might, forming a compounding force that multiplies endlessly!"
