Eternal Thief

Chapter 1529: Madness in Black Hermit! (2)

Despite his thievish instincts screaming at him to flee before that thing arrived, Ace didn't move because the Law of Sin within him pulsed with profound intent, giving him a peculiar confidence.

Ace smiled wryly with a hint of nervousness, "I guess I won't run…for now!"

He could feel the Sigil of Sin stirring within his inner world as its seven-pointed radiance flickered like a living will, responding to the presence of corrupted sin nearby.

At that moment, the Ancestor of Profane Chains' warning echoed in his mind when the former told him never to use the Sigil of Sin within your current dominion, or it might cause disaster for him.

However, the Ancestor of Profane Chains didn't know who he was warning for Ace wasn't just some random, lucky cultivator, but he was the Heaven's Stealer, and he carried within him the Order of Darkness, the law that Sin Law was merely a branch of!

That alone gave him confidence.

Besides… the Sin's Dominion Legacy required sin itself as nourishment, and where else would he find more sin than here, in the corrupted veins of the Black Hermit Mines?

As the black fate point drew closer, the space trembling from its distorted rhythm and the madness saturating the air thickened until every breath felt like inhaling liquid metal.

Ace didn't hesitate as his eyes flickered with darkness, "Lawless Darkness!"

The command whispered from his lips, and the world folded around him before his form blurred into nothingness, and he was erased from existence. Even the fabric of Law couldn't trace him, leaving behind eerie silence.

Thereupon, a fissure split open in the air, vomiting out a tide of black ichor that burned the stone it touched. The black fate point has arrived!

The creature that emerged was a nightmare given shape; towering and twisted, its body a mass of half-melted flesh and bone.

Chains of crimson thorns coiled across its limbs, digging into its own hide as if holding it together. Its face, if it could be called that, was a void with countless eyes writhing inside, each weeping black blood that hissed when it struck the ground.

Every breath was like decay as its aura, pure, maddening corruption. The Sin Law pulsed through it like a heartbeat, wild and unstable, feeding on its own madness.

Ace, concealed within the folds of Lawless Darkness, watched with razor focus. His soul trembled slightly from the aura's sheer pressure of an Abyssal Grand Lord.

But he wasn't affected by the Sin corruption because he was currently immune to it. At the same time, the Lawless Darkness alone protects him from corruption, giving him a perfect advantage against that abomination.

Furthermore, the whole reason Ace didn't use the Soul Body Sweep to escape to the safety of his Avatar was because he wanted to try the Sin's Dominion.

After hesitation for a moment, he extended his will toward the Sigil of Sin within him, and it responded instantly.

The next moment, a dark crimson pattern unfurled within his eyes' surface. It was the Sin's Dominion Circuit, which means the Law Legacy of the Ancestor has pulsed to life, resonating with the ambient corruption!

Thereafter, scarlet runes ignited around him, hidden under the Lawless Darkness's veil, silent and unseen before they linked to the corrupted aura spilling from the creature!

"Sin Seal—Form!"

Ace's thought was nearly lost to the creature's growl, but the effect was immediate as a thread of invisible primordial spirit Qi imbued with the Sin Law lashed out from Ace's inner world like a serpent and sank into the creature's body.

Almost instantly, the beast froze mid-snarl as a portion of its aura began to tremble, and then was tugged by a foreign force.

Ace held his breath and almost stopped the Sin's Dominion before suddenly…

'Shhhkk!'

Black and crimson essence streamed out from the creature's chest, coiling toward Ace like smoke drawn into a flame.

As if someone had pulled life force, the beast's body convulsed violently, and its countless eyes flared wide.

It was clear that it could feel its own sin or its corruption, being devoured. The madness fueling its strength was unraveling, piece by piece!

Ace also sensed it as his eyes flashed open in astonishment, glowing faintly with gold and red streaks. Inside his inner world, the vague phantom, extremely blurry like a foggy silhouette, condensed into the first Sin Seal!

Although it was vague, Ace could see its structure through the Law Legacy memories; this Sin Seal was going to look like a crimson chain rune wrapped around a burning black core.

However, what shocked Ace was that the sheer quantity of Sin required to create just a single Sin Seal was tremendous, and he reckoned that even if he sucked that creature dry, the Sin Seal wouldn't even reach 50% completion!

Nonetheless, the creature made of sins sensed something incredibly wrong and wanted to escape, yet the Sigil of Sin seemed to have an overwhelming authority over it.

The moment Ace used that Sin's Dominion on it, the creature seemed to have lost all previous might and abilities and become like an energy source for Sin Seal!

Ace could also feel the power, raw and dense, surging into him like a tide of molten iron through the Sigil of Sin, and he knew his gamble had paid off.

Most importantly, the Sigil of Sin seemed too powerful against any creature with Sin Law, not to mention the Sin's Dominion was also overbearing!

As the creature howled, its scream shaking the cavern, clawing wildly at the air as if to rip apart whatever was feeding on it. The surrounding corruption dimmed slightly with every pulse, while the vague Sin Seal's aura grew heavier, sharper, and more refined!

"So, it's true," Ace's eyes flickered with awe, "Sin's Dominion doesn't just harness sin but…it reclaims it."

The Law Sigil of Sin seemed to pulse in agreement as its presence deep and majestic, as if pleased by his understanding.

Ace clenched his fist, feeling the forming Sin Seal pulse within his soul. The power was intoxicating, but beneath that thrill was clarity.

This was not simple devouring; it was more like a judgment, for he was not feeding on corruption but purifying it, binding sin to his dominion, like shaping chaos into law.

The beast staggered, its aura faltering, confusion flashing through its twisted form as the madness it once thrived on began to die.

In that silence between two heartbeats, Ace smiled faintly, voice like a whisper in the abyss, "I guess I'm staying here for longer, and it's also a perfect chance to earn some fame!"
