"How do you get here!?" Alger stood up, causing the chain on his leg to make a noise. His heartbeat kept rising as fear crept in. He almost used his skill reflexively, but that was when he realized how pointless it was.

"There's no need to make a fuss over a small detail, Alger. I am here to offer you a second chance to keep your head attached to your body. I am not going to repeat myself." Tang Shaoyang had a complete report on what the meeting was about.

The King of the Auriga Kingdom decided to execute Alger Balaban tomorrow. Of course, they had also prepared the justification to execute such a high-profile commander as Alger. The justification was the accountability for the dead soldiers and for their families. They claimed that Alger abandoned his own soldier to save himself.

With such a justification, people would not take sides with such a cowardly commander. It would not spark an outrage within the people, and the soldiers' morals were not affected despite Alger's positive image within the Auriga Kingdom's army.

On top of that, the King would be able to restore his pride that had been hurt by Alger's action. That would be a lesson for the commanders and the ministers, what would happen if they dared to defy the King.

Tang Shaoyang summarized the meeting's outcome to Alger Balaban and left the decision to the man. What he wanted was a loyal follower, not someone who was forced to follow him.

"I see…" That was quite a shock for Alger. He thought he should be fine, a few weeks or a few months confinement at most, but he didn't expect the King would easily decide to execute him despite his merits.

"Can you explain more about this second chance, Sir? Does it mean you will save me from my execution and work under you?"

Alger made sure to be respectful. Not that he planned to switch sides because he had already accepted his death. He didn't think he could betray his home even when his King betrayed him. He asked out of politeness since this person showed up in front of him. Or maybe he just wanted to chat with someone before his execution.

"The second chance is not just saving your life, but the whole kingdom. I don't really have time to go out and take over your territory. So my only choice when your kingdom attacks me again is to destroy your kingdom to the ground instead of taking it. That's easier than taking it over."

Alger's heartbeat skipped a beat, then his chest heaved up and down. That meant the House of Balaban would disappear along with the Auriga Kingdom. His wives, sons, and daughters would be forced to leave and live in unknown places. The worst scenario was that they would be killed in this war.

He tried to calm down, but he just could not. He was a man of family; he loved his kingdom, but because his family lived in this kingdom. That was why he didn't want to betray the kingdom when Tang Shaoyang offered a second chance.

"I will have the Ridian Kingdom take over the Crazules Kingdom, and your kingdom will be destroyed to ensure your kingdom poses no threat to my territory. Then the Ridian Kingdom will slowly absorb your kingdom. What will happen if you don't join my plan? I am not threatening you, but that's just a fact of what will happen."

Tang Shaoyang didn't like being threatened, so he would not threaten people. He stated a fact of what would happen if his plan with Alger as the main piece didn't work as he thought.

"The Ridian Kingdom?" Alger didn't expect to hear the Ridian Kingdom switch sides, but it made sense. That was a sensible decision from them with their current situation.

"Yes. I have my eyes and ears in their assembly as well. They planned to make things right with me, and I accepted an apology with compensation. So what's your decision, Alger?" Tang Shaoyang pressed for an answer.

If the Ridian Kingdom truly switched sides, then they were doomed. Not just for the Crazules Kingdom, but for the Auriga as well. The Ridian Kingdom could share the information about both kingdoms. That would make things even easier for the Tang Empire.

"You haven't told me what your plan is if I take your offer, Sir."

Alger didn't have an intention to switch sides before, but it is different now. He considered taking this second chance if it meant he could save his family.

Tang Shaoyang could lie about the Ridian Kingdom, but what was the point? Why would someone like Tang Shaoyang lie just to recruit him? He could not even last a minute against Tang Shaoyang. Why would Tang Shaoyang go to this extent just to recruit him? That didn't make sense, and that was why he chose to believe Tang Shaoyang.

"We will get rid of the King and the nobles of your kingdom. Then you will take over the Auriga Kingdom. I want you and your trusted people to set up a council to set up the order. Then we will talk again later. Do you see the benefits of my plan now?"

Alger could see the pros of taking this second chance. Not just the kingdom would be safe from the Executive Administrator, but his family would be safe, and he didn't have to die. But that would turn him into a King Slayer.

Alger started to see the big picture now. He thought Tang Shaoyang just said random nonsense about not having time to take over the Auriga Kingdom. It seemed like Sir Tang Shaoyang truly could not be bothered with his kingdom.

"My assassin army is currently heading toward the Crazules Kingdom. They will assassinate all of the Crazules Kingdom's army. When they complete their task, you and the Ridian Kingdom will take over the Crazules Kingdom's territory. You split the territory and manage those territories for me."

That was the plan, which was why Tang Shaoyang thought it might take a week or two weeks to finish. That was the time before he departed for the Sacred Realm. Then he would use these two kingdoms as a wall of protection for his territory.

The other factions must come through the Ridian Kingdom and the Auriga Kingdom to reach his territory. That was his plan the moment he set those three commanders free.

"Ah, your friends are here. You can confirm my information with them if you don't believe me. These two are quite loyal. They tried to protect you, but the King was just too enraged to listen to reasons." Tang Shaoyang leaned against the wall and looked at Alger in the eyes, "If I still don't hear your decision by the time they leave. I will take it as a refusal."

Tang Shaoyang disappeared into the shadows as the clicking of the door unlocked resounded.
