Within the quiet solitude of a dimly lit room, a portal tore open through space, its swirling edges shimmering with threads of blue and black. From it, Anthony stepped out calmly, his expression composed, as though traveling through dimensions had become nothing more than a mundane routine. The portal sealed itself shut behind him with a low hum, erasing all traces of its existence.
Anthony's sharp gaze swept across the room, his eyes flickering with a faint glow as his Sense Dome expanded outward, scanning the entire island in an instant. Yet, despite his advanced perception, he detected no sign of Vega's presence anywhere nearby.
'It seems she's still out with Veronica,' Anthony thought to himself, releasing a faint sigh before walking toward the bed.
Taking off his clothes, he stepped into the bathroom and allowed the shower to wash over him. Steam filled the air, and droplets rolled down his skin as he leaned back against the cool tiles, closing his eyes in quiet satisfaction.
After several minutes, he emerged with a small smile tugging at the corner of his lips. "It's been so long since I've actually taken a bath," he murmured aloud. "I wonder how people can just shift into using mana cleansing forever."
Drying himself with a flicker of energy, he slipped into a set of dark pajamas, the fabric soft and comfortable against his skin. His movements were calm, deliberate, almost meditative. Then, as if drawn by habit, he walked toward the balcony and opened the glass doors.
The night sky stretched endlessly before him, an ocean of starlight glittering across the horizon. The faint hum of mana in the air intertwined with the natural stillness of the world, creating a tranquil harmony that few could ever experience. Anthony rested his arms on the balcony railing, gazing up at the constellations with a distant smile.
His mind drifted to the dinner he had recently shared with his family. No matter how much time passed, those moments always filled him with warmth. 'Every time I meet them,' he thought quietly, 'I can never understand how reincarnators are able to so easily detach from their families when they arrive in a new world.'
He shook his head with a soft chuckle. "Some things will never make sense," he muttered.
After a few moments of silence, his thoughts shifted again, this time to Vega. "Although I'm short on system points, it'll be a new month in a few days," he murmured, a faint grin playing on his lips. "Maybe I should save the entirety of next month's points for a proposal ring for Vega."
He chuckled under his breath, rubbing his chin in thought. He had already met Vega's parents, and she would soon meet his own family. Wasn't the logical next step to propose?
"Or am I rushing things?" he wondered aloud. "People would probably say we've only been dating for a few months…"
Then he paused, a wry smile tugging at his lips. "Wait, what people am I even referring to? Aside from my teammates and family, no one even knows about Vega and me."
He exhaled lightly, brushing off the thought. "Let's shelf that idea for now."
Raising his hand, a sleek phone materialized in his palm with a faint shimmer. "It's been a while since I logged into my Money God account," he mused, smirking. "By now, everyone probably assumes I've gone broke after all the ridiculous amounts I gifted those so-called celebrities online."
Indeed, it had been some time since he had interacted with the online world under his infamous alias. With a faint spark of amusement in his eyes, Anthony powered on his device and logged in. Instantly, the screen flooded with notifications, messages, and comments.
The moment he entered a live chat, chaos ensued. The comment section erupted like a storm, thousands of viewers asking where he had vanished to for months. Some speculated that he had died; others claimed he'd finally gone bankrupt; a few believed his wealthy family had disowned him.
Anthony couldn't help but laugh softly. He didn't bother explaining his absence. Instead, he slipped effortlessly back into his usual antics, his "money gifting sessions." Within minutes, he began sending outrageous sums to random users, crashing several smaller company servers with the sheer influx of digital currency.
The chat instantly went wild. People flooded the comment section, pasting their account numbers and pleading for donations. Anthony obliged each one without hesitation, his fingers moving lazily across the screen.
After all, he possessed an ATM card with an infinite quark balance, a little something he had purchased from the system shop years ago. With that card, even if he were to send every single person on the Blue Planet one billion quarks, his balance would not diminish in the slightest. In essence, he wasn't just the richest man alive, he was wealth itself, the living embodiment of inexhaustible currency... in quark at least.
As he continued distributing fortunes, the air around him suddenly rippled. Space itself trembled faintly within his Sense Dome. Instantly, Anthony's gaze shifted. The familiar ripple in the fabric of reality expanded, and from it, a beautiful and familiar figure emerged gracefully. Vega.
Without hesitation, Anthony exited the live stream. "Alright, everyone," he said casually as he typed, his voice steady. "I'll be gone for a few months." He didn't even wait for the inevitable storm of reactions before closing the app entirely. The phone vanished into his system space in a flash of light.
Turning his gaze toward Vega, he smiled. "It seems you had a good time with Veronica."
"I did," Vega replied with a gentle smile as she approached. "I took her to see the outer galaxy. She's always wanted to, but I knew it was something she'd never ask of me. Since I can now withstand the pressure of the void, I decided to take her myself. With my expanded mana reservoir and the boost from my bloodline awakening, it was… surprisingly easy."
Anthony smiled softly. "Sounds fun."
Vega returned the smile as she began changing into her pajamas. "How were things on your end?" she asked, glancing at him over her shoulder.
Anthony sighed, running a hand through his hair. "Don't remind me," he muttered. "It was a handful. I spent hours with the team, then met with the Warlords afterward, for reasons I'm sure you can already guess."
Vega nodded, understanding perfectly. Both climbed onto the king-sized bed from opposite sides, lifting the soft duvet and slipping under it. Though neither truly felt the cold, they still clung to the small human ritual of warmth and closeness.
"What about the Supreme Monarchs?" Vega asked softly as she made herself comfortable. "Haven't they returned yet? The Warlords said they'd be back soon, it's already been over a day."
Anthony reached out, gently taking her hand in his. Their fingers intertwined naturally. Bringing her hand to his lips, he pressed a tender kiss on the back of her palm before speaking. "I met them," he said quietly. "And things went as expected, the usual talk about me joining their ranks, the formalities, the power struggles."
Vega's purple eyes remained fixed on his face as he spoke. She turned to her side, resting her head on her arm while her free hand lightly brushed across his cheek. "So… you're becoming a Supreme Monarch?" she asked.
Anthony chuckled, his eyes meeting hers. "Nah. I rejected the position." He smiled mischievously. "Why become the head of an organization when you can control the head instead?"
"Explain," Vega said, her tone calm yet curious.
Anthony nodded, recounting the entire meeting in detail, the conversation with the Monarchs, the subtle politics, his inevitable clash with the Second Supreme Monarch, and the aftermath that followed. His tone remained even, but Vega could sense the quiet confidence behind every word.
She listened attentively, unbothered by the grandeur of the tale. Titles and politics had never impressed her. Power, true power, was all that mattered. Her own parents held no formal rank in any planetary council, yet their names alone could silence entire star systems.
As they finished speaking, Anthony conjured a small magical projection above them. The scene displayed the Second Supreme Monarch's current state, his suffering evident and relentless. The couple watched silently, their expressions unreadable.
What began as curiosity slowly shifted to amusement, and as the projection played on like a distant drama, the two eventually grew quiet. Wrapped in each other's arms, they drifted to sleep under the soft light of the stars, their breathing in sync, two souls at peace, even amidst the chaos of galaxies.
