MIGHT AS WELL BE OP

Chapter 902: Spotlight

Anthony, who had been listening to Kingsley and Broth-ben's discussion in silence, simply lowered his gaze and stared at his own hand. His expression remained calm, almost absentminded, as though the words being spoken around him were little more than background noise. Slowly, he raised a finger. For a brief moment, Savor energy coursed through it, subtle yet unmistakable, carrying a depth that felt far heavier than its gentle glow suggested. Before anyone could even blink, Anthony casually punched the air.

The motion itself was unremarkable, no dramatic wind-up, no visible strain, but the result was anything but ordinary. His casual punch released a cataclysmic burst of force that violently tore apart the wind barrier surrounding them. The air screamed as it lashed outward, a savage pressure wave ripping through the area. Everyone was hit by the backlash; hair whipped wildly, clothes fluttered violently, and loose objects were sent skidding across the ground as the shattered remnants of the barrier dispersed into nothingness.

The entire area froze.

It wasn't just Broth-ben or Anthony's companions who stopped moving. Foreigners walking through the Simmerium, native races of the Nodara Planet, merchants, travelers, and observers alike all came to an abrupt halt, shock striking them to their very core. They all understood one undeniable truth: someone had just thrown a punch powerful enough to shatter a wind barrier by force alone. And yet, none of them had seen who did it.

A heavy silence followed, broken only moments later by murmurs that rapidly escalated into chaos.

The native races of the Nodara Planet erupted into a frenzy. Voices overlapped as they spoke excitedly, speculating wildly while scanning their surroundings. Many believed that a hidden expert had revealed themselves, a master capable of bending the Laws of the Ramen Singularity Timeline through sheer power and understanding. Some even whispered reverently, convinced that a legendary figure had chosen to briefly step out of obscurity.

Meanwhile, Aaaninja, Aura Nova, Vega, Veronica, Lucian, Altheria, and Kingsley could only stare at Anthony as though they were looking at a monster wearing human skin. Their expressions ranged from disbelief to outright shock. Even Broth-ben, who prided himself on his vast knowledge and composure, stood completely speechless. At this moment, they were the only ones who knew the truth, that the chaos was not caused by some hidden Nodara expert, but by the white-haired human standing calmly among them.

Broth-ben, the Brothkin, felt his mind grind to a halt. He couldn't comprehend what he had just witnessed. Every fact he had confidently stated moments earlier now felt like meaningless nonsense. At the beginning, he had claimed that no one could awaken Savor energy without cooking to someone's satisfaction. And yet, Anthony had instantly manifested Savor energy on the spot, shattering that statement without hesitation.

Worse still, Broth-ben had just declared that it would take millennia, entire epochs of dedication, to reach a high level of mastery over Savor energy and bend the Laws of the Ramen Singularity Timeline. The words hadn't even fully left his mouth before Anthony proved him wrong yet again, doing the impossible with insulting ease.

'What is wrong with this white-haired human named Anthony?' Broth-ben thought to himself, his mind spiraling. He could not understand how someone could break not one, but two foundational Laws of the Ramen Singularity Timeline within mere hours of visiting it.

Neither Anthony nor the rest of the group had formally introduced themselves to Broth-ben, yet he had already picked up on everyone's names simply by listening to their conversations.

'Has my entire life been a lie?' he wondered, staring at Anthony from head to toe as though searching for some hidden answer. 'I should watch what I say from now on around this weird human.' He had already tried to dismiss Anthony's earlier feat, convincing himself it was a fluke. Now, that list of impossible accomplishments had grown longer.

Broth-ben's thoughts drifted back to Anthony's earlier words, spoken so casually that he had initially ignored them. Anthony had said he would challenge the greatest chef to a ramen cooking competition. At the time, Broth-ben hadn't taken it seriously. Foreigners made such claims all the time, boasting loudly before either giving up entirely or humiliating themselves against even the lowest-ranked chefs.

But now…

'Will he actually be able to do it?' Broth-ben found himself questioning his own reality after spending barely a few hours in Anthony's presence.

"Aren't you showing off a bit too much?" Altheria asked from the side, her green eyes shifting toward Anthony. Aaaninja had warned her to get used to Anthony's ridiculous feats, but she found it impossible. Even those who were accustomed to his absurdity were stunned. After all, they had all been listening to Kingsley and Broth-ben's discussion, and they had even felt the pressure of the Laws themselves pressing against their bodies.

"You're just jealous because you don't have the same talent as me," Anthony replied playfully, a teasing smile forming on his lips. Despite how it looked, he wasn't showing off. He had merely been testing Broth-ben's words, nothing more.

"But isn't this ability of yours too overpowered?" Veronica asked, her gaze fixed on Anthony's fist as though it might suddenly explode out again.

"Yeah," Vega added immediately, clearly confused. "I thought your ability allowed you to gain control over every energy, not gain perfect control over them instantly?" Even Lucian, who understood Anthony's abilities better than anyone else present, wore a puzzled expression.

Anthony shook his head calmly before replying. "I've gained access to numerous energies and possess ridiculous levels of control over each of them," he said, pausing briefly before finishing with absolute certainty. "With that kind of experience, you don't honestly expect me to waste years perfecting a new one… right?"

His words left everyone speechless. He made it sound effortless, almost trivial, but they all knew the truth. Every energy followed different fundamental Laws, governed by unique principles and structures. No matter how casually Anthony explained it, what he was doing was absurd beyond reason.

"We should stop talking to this guy," Altheria muttered with a sigh. "Otherwise, he'll just make us feel like trash and less talented."

Anthony smirked. "While you aren't trash," he said, shrugging playfully. "You definitely are less talented, though."

Aaaninja shot Anthony a sharp look, silently warning him to stop before he pushed things too far.

"We came to this Timeline to relax and have a good time before our battle," Aura Nova interjected, shaking her head. "Not for you to turn it into your personal playground." Even she, usually composed, had been rendered speechless by Anthony's display.

Lucian Darkheart simply smiled from the side. To him, this outcome was inevitable. Anthony was the protagonist. No matter how low-key he tried to be or how much he attempted to stay out of the spotlight, the world would always bend around him. The spotlight could never be taken from the main character, whether he wanted it or not.
