MIGHT AS WELL BE OP

Chapter 944: Cute [Bonus Chapter]

Anthony shook his head at Lucian's behavior. With a thought, he also shot forward, tearing through the sound and wind barriers with ease. The air cracked like shattered glass as the pressure split apart before him, and in the blink of an eye, they arrived before everyone who had been spectating the match between him and Lucian.

At this moment, Klaus had already brought all of them out from the pocket dimensions where he had temporarily kept them so they wouldn't be hit by the devastating attacks he and Lucian had exchanged, protecting them from the aftershocks that could have easily erased lesser beings.

"It seems you had fun." Klaus' voice came from the side as he sat comfortably with a smile on his face, his posture relaxed as though he had merely watched an entertaining show rather than a battle that tore apart space itself.

He wouldn't lie, he was genuinely enjoying watching these youngsters. Initially, he had only thought that only Anthony was somewhat interesting, a rare anomaly among talents, but who would have thought the rest were impressive too? They were far more promising than he had anticipated. He loved Aura Nova's battle with Kingsley, the raw clash of abilities and instincts, and he loved Anthony's battle with Lucian even more, the sheer scale and absurdity of their exchange making even him pay attention.

Although they were still weak compared to him, none of that truly mattered. Strength could be cultivated with time. What mattered was potential, and these youngsters had surpassed his expectations by a ridiculous margin. Although none of them reached Anthony's level in his eyes, they were all freaks of nature in their own right, existences that broke common sense and mocked normal standards.

Just like Aaaninja, Klaus found himself even more fascinated with Kingsley. Although the boy had lost, to Klaus, Kingsley was a ridiculous talent. Coming this far purely through martial ability, reaching a point where he could stand toe to toe with these monsters, spoke volumes about his absurd combat instincts and discipline. It was a testament to his frightening growth rate and endless training. If he had another daughter, to Klaus, Kingsley honestly wouldn't be a bad choice at all, perhaps even an excellent one.

"Of course, although it would be more fun if you let everyone challenge me at the same time," Anthony replied, his words sounding arrogant again, yet delivered with such casual confidence that it didn't even feel like boasting, more like a simple statement of fact.

"You mean like you did during your Omni Peak entrance exam about five years ago?" Klaus asked with a calm smile, clearly remembering the chaos Anthony had caused back then.

"Indeed, but I guess I'll manage battling them one after another," Anthony smirked confidently, clearly enjoying the situation, as though this entire sequence of fights was nothing more than light exercise to him.

"If I didn't know better, I would've thought you were just another arrogant child… but I guess you do have the power to back up your words," Klaus replied with a calm smile, his eyes faintly gleaming with anticipation as he looked forward to more spars and more surprises.

Anthony paused for a moment before speaking again. "Aren't you going to reinforce this separate plane once and for all? I mean, you've repaired it way too many times and it keeps collapsing. It's kind of a bit too weak." He glanced around at the fractured environment. He was certain that if it were his Mirror Dimension, it wouldn't collapse like this separate plane was. His construct was far sturdier and far less fragile.

Klaus stayed silent for a moment before he spoke. "That isn't my fault," he sighed as he began explaining. "I simply underestimated you people's destructive ability. I normally just enhance it a bit and leave it at that, thinking it would be enough to hold… but it seems I was wrong." He paused briefly, then continued, "I should reinforce it once and for all. Only the outer barriers, I guess."

The moment he finished speaking, mana exploded like a thunderclap in everyone's ears. It surged violently from Klaus' body and soared into the sky like a blue pillar piercing the heavens. With that, the entire separate plane shook continuously as though its very Laws were being rewritten, space trembling and stabilizing under his control.

The atmosphere thickened, the ground hardened, and invisible layers of protection stacked upon one another. After a few seconds, Klaus' mana vanished just as suddenly, and everything returned to normal, calmer and far more stable than before.

"There, I'm done," Klaus replied in a calm, almost lazy tone, as though what he had just done wasn't something that would take entire organizations years to accomplish.

Anthony simply nodded and sat down on his seat, his eyes turning toward his friends. The girls at another side were already discussing among themselves in low voices.

"Isn't your boyfriend a bit too arrogant?" Altheria's voice echoed, her words directed at Vega, who sat with a smile on her face, clearly happy that Anthony had won. Yes, she was confident and believed in her man, but she didn't exactly know Lucian's combat power either. What if he had been just as ridiculous as Anthony? The uncertainty had lingered in her heart during the fight.

Their battles against the Eleven Winged Angels didn't mean anything since they had all simply played with them like cats toying with a mouse. There had been no real pressure, no real danger.

"Well… he sounds arrogant to you because you don't know him. I'm sure Aaaninja won't see it like that," Vega replied, her smile ever present and relaxed. She understood why Altheria was worked up over Anthony's words. After all, Aaaninja was her boyfriend too. How could she calmly listen to someone speak like that about him?

Vega's eyes turned to Veronica, who sat beside her, before she spoke again. "It seems it's my win this time, Veronica."

Veronica stayed silent for a moment, then sighed softly. "I guess so. It seems your boyfriend is even more ridiculous than you are," she stated with a calm expression, neither surprised nor particularly shaken.

She wasn't sad or anything that Lucian had lost. To her, it didn't really matter in the grand scheme of things. But just because Lucian had lost once didn't mean she stopped believing in him. A single loss meant nothing. She still believed he would win against Aaaninja, Aura Nova, and Kingsley eventually.

"You seem happy." Romulus' voice came from above. He was seated on Vega's head, lazily resting there as he too had been watching the spar. He was slightly bored since he couldn't visit the Spirit King, as that being was busy with matters of its own.

"Why wouldn't I be?" Vega replied with a smile. She paused briefly before adding, "Thanks for the help."

"No problem," Romulus replied calmly. As for what the help was, he had boosted the perception of some of those watching, allowing them to keep track of the ridiculous speed and pace Anthony and Lucian were moving at. Without that assistance, everything would have looked like blurs that consumed their visions.

Romulus remained silent afterward as he continued watching. Just like Klaus, he was also having a bit of a good time, finding unexpected amusement in observing these talented youngsters grow.

Altheria and Veronica's eyes shifted toward Romulus as he sat casually on Vega's head, then quickly removed their gaze. At this point in time, they already understood a bit what kind of person, or rather, what kind of existence, he truly was. Although they found his small golden form cute, almost harmless-looking, they didn't dare say such words out loud for fear of being erased from existence for their disrespect.
