MIGHT AS WELL BE OP

Chapter 947: Decapitation [Bonus Chapter]

The air collapsed as Kingsley's knee met no opposition, the force dispersing violently into empty space, and the moment his feet touched the earth again, Kingsley blurred once more, the ground beneath him shattering from the pressure of his acceleration. Half an hour had already passed within his one-hour limit, yet he couldn't understand how Aaaninja was reacting to each and every one of his attacks with such unnatural ease.

He was supposed to be the best at close-quarter combat, the undisputed apex of hand to hand exchanges, Aaaninja wasn't supposed to be keeping up, but he was, matching him step for step as though everything Kingsley did had already been predicted and rehearsed.

'If I could use my Concept Of Destruction, this would have been over,' he thought to himself with faint sighs and growing impatience. Within the Law Defiance Field, he couldn't use his Concept Of Destruction, as only pure close-quarter combat was permitted, stripping him down to nothing but raw physical ability, technique, and instinct, turning the battle into something brutally primitive.

His speed peaked once more as he arrived before Aaaninja in less than a blink, his figure distorting the air as though reality itself lagged behind him. His elbow tore in from the side towards Aaaninja's temple with bone-crushing force, but Aaaninja took a step back, calm and measured, and before Kingsley could follow up with another attack, a silver flash filled his vision, and with it, the unmistakable sound of a blade carving cleanly through flesh.

Blood splattered into the air in a crimson arc, and with a heavy thud, Kingsley's severed arm dropped to the ground, fingers twitching as it rolled across the broken earth.

Aaaninja didn't pause, didn't hesitate, didn't even blink; he simply continued in one swift motion, his sword now screaming towards Kingsley's neck with lethal intent. Kingsley vanished yet again as he put some distance between him and Aaaninja, the afterimage of his body splitting apart like smoke.

Aaaninja didn't give chase, why should he, the more the Law Defiance Field ran out, the better for him, so he simply stood in silence as his blade dripped in Kingsley's blood.

Kingsley stood silent as his hand regenerated with a blink, flesh weaving together, bones knitting, nerves reconnecting as though time itself had reversed. He knew why he had been injured; he had assumed that after shattering Aaaninja's sword, Aaaninja would now fight hand to hand like before.

He hadn't expected Aaaninja to pull out another sword from his space ring, and that had been his mistake, a small miscalculation that had nearly cost him his life. Aaaninja knew of this, that was why he never took out a second sword immediately, luring Kingsley into false security. But he had planned to decapitate Kingsley once and for all, to end everything in a single decisive stroke, yet his plan had failed.

He wanted to get over this battle and get to his battle with Anthony immediately, as though Kingsley was nothing more than an obstacle delaying his true objective.

Kingsley stayed silent for a moment, then moved again, a single injury wouldn't suddenly make him afraid and overly cautious, he had made a mistake, that was all, and mistakes could be corrected through action rather than hesitation.

The moment he closed the distance again, Aaaninja's blade flashed in a silver arc before he could even attack, forcing Kingsley to react purely on instinct. He had no choice but to dodge, but the moment he did, he found Aaaninja's sword following him, abandoning its earlier motion as though space itself bent to its path. Kingsley didn't hesitate, he raised his hand and deflected the blade, sparks erupting from the collision.

His feet left the ground as his leg boomed towards Aaaninja's chin like a launched cannon, Aaaninja raised a hand, catching Kingsley's leg with terrifying precision, his second hand blurring as he moved to cut it in half, but Kingsley had already punched out with his free fist, forcing Aaaninja to abandon his attack and transition into a defense without even a fraction of delay.

With a heavy burst, fist met blade with another titanic force, both of them skidding backwards for a moment, their feet carving deep trenches into the earth below. But the moment they came to a stop, they surged forward once again in a blur of motion and finesse, as though the brief pause had never existed.

Their bodies became streaks of motion as Kingsley continued unleashing attacks after attacks with rampaging force and madness, every blow capable of leveling structures and pulverizing stone. But Aaaninja simply deflected it all to the side with calm ease and an unreadable expression. It didn't matter how swift Kingsley moved, he simply kept up as though even the difference in strength was useless, as though Kingsley couldn't land a single meaningful attack no matter what he tried.

In a blur, they appeared on a mountain, Kingsley already midair, his body falling from above like a falling star, his foot slamming downward with enough force to tear a planet asunder. Aaaninja didn't dare block such an attack, he simply weaved to the side, leaving an afterimage in place of himself.

With a world-rending force, Kingsley's heel met the mountain peak, spiderweb cracks spreading through its body and surface, and with a deafening boom, it shattered into stones and boulders. Clouds of dust rose towards the sky, churning, swirling, and covering everything in a suffocating haze. But Aaaninja's sword flashed, silver arcs filling the air, tearing through the dust and atmosphere itself, his blade converging around Kingsley from all directions.

Kingsley stamped his foot into the earth below, his veins snaking under his feet as he vanished into nothing but pure velocity and motion, his fists deflecting every blade attack Aaaninja had unleashed upon him. The moment his fist destroyed the last attack, he came to a halt, his fists clenched tight, his hands drawing backwards like a bowstring pulled to its absolute limit, then he punched forward in consecutive succession in unending blurs.

The air bent, then exploded outward in a cannon that shot outward towards Aaaninja with maddening force, compressing everything in its path. But Aaaninja met them all with his blade, his technique perfect and flawless as he carved through it all with ridiculous ease, splitting shockwaves apart as though they were nothing but fragile glass.

The battlefield behind and around him collapsed into nothing but ruins, mountains broken, earth overturned, craters forming endlessly, but he didn't care about any of that, all he saw was the attack in front of him and nothing more, his focus absolute and unwavering.

The next moment, the Law Defiance Field collapsed instantly as over an hour had passed, mana flowing back into place like a returning tide. Both Kingsley and Aaaninja felt their connection with their energy and abilities snap back into place, the familiar power flooding their bodies once more.

'It seems I might have to drag this out,' he thought to himself as his plan to end this battle within one hour had failed.

With a thought, he tapped into his Concept Of Destruction, but before he could even do anything, Aaaninja was already standing a few meters behind him, as he sheathed his blade as though the battle had already ended.

'When did he get behind m—' his words were cut short as a fine, thin line appeared across his neck, so thin it was almost invisible, and with that, darkness swallowed his vision, blood splattering outward as his head was separated from his neck with a speed he couldn't even begin to comprehend.

And with that, Kingsley Sky had lost by decapitation.
