Ant Lord in the Star Realm

Chapter 175: Metal Case Seed of Civilization (Part Two)

"Great King, we've dug up something big!"

"What big thing?"

"It's another metal case."

"Bring it out."

"...It's too heavy."

Black Cory was too weak.

Dragon Cypress darted into the winding, narrow tunnel, running quickly, soon arriving at the spot.

In the cramped space, amidst muddy water and sludge, sat a large black metal case.

Its appearance was basically the same as the previous metal case they had excavated, still decorated with plant patterns, with slight differences.

It was a full 30 centimeters long, about 18 centimeters wide, and around 12 centimeters thick.

"Everyone, back up."

Dragon Cypress waved its tentacles, shooing away the crowded Worker Ants, reached out two forelimbs to lift it, tried exerting force.

The thing was indeed rather heavy.

It pressed harder, lifting it out.

Placing it steadily, continuing to inject Origin Force.

Silently, the plant-like patterns on the metal case surface split open, layer by layer retreating outward like flowing water, revealing what was hidden inside: ten seeds neatly lined up in a row.

Heart-shaped, black, slightly smaller than an apricot stone.

The seed shells were smooth, glossy!

With spiritual power sweeping over for perception, there was still a faint sign of life.

Alive?

Not spoiled!

The seeds inside were actually still alive!

These seeds looked a bit familiar...

Dragon Cypress cautiously controlled its strength, slowly bent its claw tips, picked one up to examine it.

Confirmed there was still life activity.

Perfectly preserved.

Dragon Cypress's mind suddenly lit up:

"Azure!"

"Azure's kin?"

The seed form of Azure was also heart-shaped, a little larger, overall nearly identical in shape, only the color of the shell was different.

The color difference was probably due to Primordial Energy Attribute.

Dragon Cypress was almost one hundred percent sure this was the same species as Azure, a plant seed from the Creator Civilization.

This large metal case used for sealing didn't have much more capacity, so its seed-preserving ability must be stronger.

Because it was kin to Azure, it enjoyed the "special treatment" of Human Clan Civilization and had the good fortune to be preserved until now.

"Great King? Alive?"

Black Cory was impatient, hanging upside down from the tunnel ceiling, staring at the seeds in the metal case, tentacles swaying, wanting to touch them, but realizing their value, didn't dare act recklessly.

"Alive!"

Dragon Cypress very carefully took out and checked the ten seeds one by one.

All ten seeds were alive.

Black Cory wisely retreated two steps. When Dragon Cypress finished, he finally asked, "Great King, what kind of seeds are these? Do you recognize them? Are they valuable?"

Dragon Cypress: "Not necessarily valuable."

Dragon Cypress: "But Azure will definitely be very happy to see them!"

Dragon Cypress explained: "They're plants from the Outworld Creator Civilization. A very weak civilization, destroyed by Human Clan Civilization. The Human Clan's Starship was then taken down by the Natural God. The Creator Civilization is two tiers below our Insect Clan Civilization, totally incomparable. Plants cultivated by Creator Civilization are probably not very strong either."

Dragon Cypress added: "But they're rare! In the Natural God System, it's a unique existence. The fruit it produces is as delicious as our own Golden Light Fruit from the Natural God System, so it's not without merit."

"...I understand."

Black Cory really did understand, then asked, "Great King, are the seeds valuable?"

Dragon Cypress: "They have value!"

Black Cory: "Same as Azure's, plant them in water?"

Dragon Cypress: "Unless there's any surprise, yes."

Black Cory: "Great King, give me some seeds?"

Dragon Cypress: "Let's see if we can find more... No matter what, let's try planting ten seeds first. Five in Black Lotus Lake, five in Azure Blue Reservoir."

Black Cory: "Okay!"

Dragon Cypress continued injecting Origin Force into the large metal case. A layer of metal slowly folded up, fixing the seeds in place. A layer of greenish-blue Origin Force Energy wrapped and protected the seeds. Then, layers of metal gathered from all directions, like flowing water, covering and submerging the ten seeds.

The entire thing became an unbreakable, tightly sealed rectangular metal case.

Dragon Cypress gripped it with both mandibles, carrying it out of the tunnel.

Then returned to the depths of the Treasury, using Water System Ability to clear out the standing water inside.

Black Cory led the Worker Ants to keep digging.

Dragon Cypress led the ant swarm to collect stones from the mountain forest for backfilling.

After a while,

Black Cory came again.

"Great King, we've found another large metal case! We can't move it..."

"Forget it, you rest, I'll come myself."

...

Any carelessness could cause the tunnel to collapse and bury them alive.

Dragon Cypress dared not be careless, commanding thirty Large Worker Ants, carefully excavating.

The Worker Ants took turns.

Dragon Cypress didn't need to eat or rest, working nonstop for two days, completely clearing out the two-meter-thick bottom level of the Treasury.

Dug out thirty-seven small metal cases, collecting a total of one hundred forty-three.

In all, dug up ten large metal cases, exactly one hundred 'Azure Tree' seeds, all perfectly preserved.

By End of Summer, it was again wild fruit ripening season.

Dragon Cypress had been at Cold Orchid Mountain for nearly two months on this trip.

Black Cory had been digging here for more than three months.

There were probably still other things in the Treasury, but there was no time and no energy to look through it carefully.

Later Ink Orchid could come take a look.

After preparing, the Dominating Throne overloaded and set off.

Shaking and wobbling, they first reached Black Lotus Lake.

Black Cory had worked hard for so long, so he was rewarded with two small metal cases, one for him, and one for White Willow.

Dragon Cypress also assigned thirty Specialized Worker Ants, thirty Large Worker Ants, thirty Large Soldier Ants, ten Specialized Blue Soldiers, ten Specialized Blue Ants, and twenty Large Blue Ants to permanently station at Black Lotus Lake, for Black Cory's command.

Ant swarm dropped off,

The Dominating Throne, now lightened, flew at top speed for a full day and half a night, returning to Xianglan Mountain in the deep of night.

Headed straight for Azure Blue Reservoir.

"Dragon Cypress—"

"Haven't seen you in so long. Where did you go off to this time?"

Azure called out.

With the higher level of evolution and longer time together, Azure was getting more and more ant-like.

"Told you before. Cold Orchid Mountain, excavating Starship Wreckage."

"Did you find any treasures?"

"Sure did!"

Dragon Cypress controlled the Dominating Throne, hovering above the Deep Blue God-Given Seed, picked up the large metal case, injected Origin Force, and the case lid slowly opened, revealing the black seeds inside.

"Azure, do you recognize these?"

"—Don't recognize them."

"Not at all?"

Azure hesitated and said, "Kind of looks familiar..."

Familiar is right~ Dragon Cypress: "I guess these are probably the same species of plant as you, your kin!"

Your kin? Azure thought for a long time, then said happily, "That's great!"

Azure: "Dragon Cypress, you should try planting them in the reservoir."

Dragon Cypress: "Of course! We found one hundred seeds this time, we'll try sowing ten next spring."

Ink Orchid sped over, circled the Dominating Throne and landed atop the Stump Ant Nest.

"Dragon Cypress!"

"You're finally back!"

"What are these? Seeds?"

"Wow! Large model metal case for storing seeds?"

"And ten small metal cases!"

"Amazing! I was just thinking of having you borrow the ones from Blue Catalpa and Snakebark Maple, to store the Emerald Flower Cold Orchid Divine-Given Seeds."

Ink Orchid recounted everything, then stared fixedly at the seeds in the metal case, exclaiming, "These seeds are just like... like the seed form of Azure!"

Dragon Cypress said, "It's basically certain they're the same species. The last lost seeds of the Creator Civilization."

"I dug up the treasure in the mud, but it was different from what I expected—very badly damaged, the door was gone..."

Dragon Cypress recounted the excavation process.
