An hour earlier, Oh Heejun was pondering about something as he stood in front of Rayen's locker. His pockets were bulging already with the rectangular objects he silently took from the other lockers.
"Hell no!"
Oh Heejun flinched when Rayen's voice echoed throughout the practice room.
Stiff, he gazed back to his teammates. Only when he saw that all of them were huddled on the floor, focusing on watching the 11th episode did he sigh in relief. They were too focused on the screen to be bothered by anything else, so he resumed what he was just doing.
But then, Rayen's words echoed in his mind.
"Don't mind it."
Oh Heejun sighed and stepped back. He glanced back toward his teammates who kept their eyes on the screen.
"I'm heading out for a moment," Oh Heejun said.
Seeing that they gave him no heed aside from Adrian's perfunctory reply, he snickered before leaving.
As for Nana's phone, he left it alone. He knew that even without his interference, she wouldn't make it past the finals. After all, whether they win the group battle at the finals or not, she wouldn't be able to gather enough points in the individual performance after being placed in the rank C.
When he pulled the door open, Oh Heejun felt the airconditioner's breeze coming out and brushing the back of his head. He calmly smiled and savored it. This might be the last time he could do so.
'Now, what should I do first?'
He wanted to enjoy his last moments before proceeding with his plan.
Thinking of the many things he could possibly do in a short time, he pressed the button in the elevator. A few moments later, he arrived at the cafeteria.
Filling his stomach might be his best first choice.
He first went and took a food tray, filling it with lots of food before glancing around and finding a seat.
Currently, there's no one at the cafeteria. Most of the participants must be busy watching the 11th episode. Only he was the odd one out.
As for the staff members, he had no idea. Aside from the times they would shoot the episodes, he had never seen them loitering around the building at all.
Since the whole place was empty, he was free to choose where he could sit. Finally, his eyes settled on a table.
He slowly walked toward it, then placed his tray atop the table. When he sat on one of the seats, a strange feeling crept over his skin.
'So this was how it felt?'
The table he sat on was none other than the cursed table where every participant who disappeared once sat to eat their last meal.
At first, it felt odd, but as the seconds continued to pass, comfort slowly enveloped his whole body. He began to eat his last meal too.
In his hand, he held a croissant. That red-haired guy kept eating this during practice breaks. Oh Heejun had never tried it before as it was too expensive, but now he understood why that guy was addicted to this bread.
After devouring everything, he also took a bite of the other foods on his tray. Soon after, nothing was left.
He rubbed his belly, feeling a little bit too full.
'Well, that was satisfying... What should I do next?'
Only 15 minutes had passed since he left that suffocating practice room. He probably has 30 minutes left before the others could finish watching the 11th episode and realize that their phones were missing.
Thinking this, he decided to go to the leisure area next. He spent his remaining 15 minutes there, idling and playing about the whole place.
At exactly 30 minutes, he stopped whatever he was doing.
'I guess, that's it.'
Any more, and he would be caught.
He immediately headed to the elevator and picked the 6th floor dorm. It would be a lot safer if he did it inside his dorm room. After all, no one else was there since Ryeon was already eliminated.
However, he forgot to take into account one thing.
When the elevator door opened, the people from Team 2 were inside, talking with each other until they noticed Oh Heejun's presence. Oh Heejun met several eyes staring back at him.
"Oh, it's the violent guy!" an energetic voice exclaimed.
Xi Huan pointed at Oh Heejun. Just then, she caught sight of his bulging pockets and shirt.
"What's that?" she asked.
Oh Heejun remained silent as everyone turned their eyes toward the spot Xi Huan was looking at. Ignoring them, he stepped on the elevator.
But just then, a flash of pink passed by his vision. Before he knew it, Xi Huan was already in front of him, holding a phone in her hand.
"Hmm..." Putting one hand on her chin, she carefully scrutinized the phone. "Isn't this Adidi's?"
Oh Heejun's eyes widened.
"How did you—"
Before Oh Heejun could even finish what he was saying, Xi Huan turned to him with a mischievous smile.
"Are you up to something bad?"
Seeing that he was already caught red-handed, Oh Heejun hurriedly ran out before the elevator could close completely. Everyone watched dumbfounded as Xi Huan ran after him.
Just what exactly was happening? No one had expected this situation at all.
Although Oh Heejun ran first than Xi Huan, she was like a nimble cat. With her unusual movements and acrobatic skills, she was able to catch up to him. She calmly stretched out one of her legs, tripping Oh Heejun. With that, Oh Heejun fell face first.
Thud!
Various objects scattered on the floor. Oh Heejun groaned in pain.
"As I thought so," Xi Huan mused, squatting in front of Oh Heejun. "What are you going to do with these?"
The others in the elevator also stepped out of the elevator to watch the happenings. No one even noticed that the elevator had closed its doors and silently left the floor.
From behind the group, Zbigniew was frowning. His eyes darted from Oh Heejun's sorry figure toward the rectangular objects scattered on the ground.
Just then, he caught sight of one phone whose screen had cracks on it. He stopped in his tracks.
'!!!'
During their healing trip on the island, he recalled something. When Oh Heejun's phone nearly fell from the tree, he was the one who caught it.
Back then, he was able to see it clearly.
[Be careful! If your phone gets destroyed, your soul will also be destroyed!]
Meanwhile, a ding broke the silence that surrounded their group. The elevator once again arrived on the 3rd floor. Before the sound could even fade away, the people from Team 2 heard a frantic voice shouting at them.
"Grab him! Hurry!"
