"Phew..."
Ms. Jin stretched her back upon completing the last batch of documents she was working on. She looked outside the window.
The sun was already setting on the horizon, dyeing the entire faculty room with its orange light.
The teachers who were about to head home passed by Ms. Jin's desk.
"You're heading off now, Ms. Jin?"
Ms. Jin nodded with a relaxed smile. "Yes."
"Oh, congratulations!"
"Congratulations, Ms. Jin."
She laughed wryly.
Upon tidying her things, Ms. Jin was just about to get up from her desk, which was now free from the mountains of paperwork, when another paper landed on it.
"....." Her smile went stiff.
As she looked up, her eyes met with Rayen's soft smile.
"Ms. Jin, we're here to submit our club creation application."
Staring at that charming smile which was even oozing out a sweet fragrance and glittering flowers, she couldn't help but think.
'Is it fine to kick a temporary student out?'
Begrudgingly, she took the paper and sat back down in her seat. She read the names on the paper.
Three more names were added to the original three that Rayen first submitted to her. As she read through it, she massaged her temples.
"Yuzuka and Miles..." She lifted her head to look at Rayen again.
Rayen tilted his head. "What's the matter?"
"Didn't I tell you already? You are a temporary student, so I can't approve your club creation. Adding two more temporary students doesn't solve this problem."
"... Teacher, why don't you look more clearly?"
Annoyed, Ms. Jin's forehead creased. "What's there to look at?"
"Please look clearly," Rayen said as he pointed at the bottom-most name in the list.
Ms. Jin clicked her tongue, but she still followed Rayen's finger with her gaze.
"I recruited a normal student, see?" Rayen said.
"Yoo Gyeo"
Ms. Jin blinked.
'Right. Didn't I count three before? Why did I forget about it?'
However...
"Who's this Yoo Gyeo?"
"... You're his teacher, yet you're asking me?" The corners of Rayen's mouth twitched.
"Oh? He's my student?"
Skeptical, she quickly pulled her class list out of her drawer to take a look. And indeed, there was Yoo Gyeo's name at the end.
'But why don't I remember having a student like him?'
This Yoo Gyeo's lack of presence was definitely worse than Mr. Min's.
"So, Ms. Jin... Can you process our application now?" Rayen asked.
"No."
"....."
It was Rayen's smile that turned stiff.
"Why?"
"You just submitted to me a list of names."
"Isn't that what you said?"
"I did, but you need more than that." Ms. Jin smiled.
Seeing Rayen's wry expression had paid off for her disappointment earlier.
"What more do we need to do?" Rayen asked.
"Well, why are you creating this club? What's its purpose? Why do we have to approve its creation and what can it do for the school?"
"....." Rayen pursed his lips.
But Ms. Jin still wasn't done. "You need to submit an essay along with your application for me to consider it."
"... Shouldn't you have said so earlier?" Rayen complained.
Ms. Jin only laughed. "I was too busy to inform you before. Now, I've just informed you."
Rayen sighed. "Alright."
He could only head out of the faculty room. Ms. Jin happily shelved the application paper again before standing up to leave.
...
Outside the faculty room, Rayen walked out the door, dismayed.
With crossed arms, Miles asked him, "Why are you so dejected, Stupid Seed? What about our application?"
Rayen stared at him with dead eyes. "We need to submit an essay along with our application."
"Essay? What for?"
Rayen repeated Ms. Jin's words, word by word.
"Well, why are we creating this club? What's its purpose? Why does she have to approve its creation and what can it do for the school?"
"Too much work."
"Right," Rayen said. "Who can write an essay here?"
He looked around the five students with him who just stared back at him.
"... Never mind."
It's better to just let Adrian write it. Better to make use of his old profession.
Once they arrived back at the dorm, the first thing Rayen did was find Adrian in his bedroom.
While lying on his bed, Adrian stared at him.
"Help us out with this thing." Rayen gave him the paper, a pen, and paper to him.
"... What do you want me to do?"
"Aren't you a writer? Help me out in drafting an essay to submit with our club application."
Adrian blinked and didn't say anything.
Rayen sighed. "What do you want?"
Adrian immediately grinned. "I'll think about it later."
...
The next day...
"Healing Arts Club"
"Why do we sound like some kind of magical folk doctors?" Rayen complained.
He quickly headed to the faculty first thing in the morning. Ms. Jin had just gotten here and was just about to sit in her cubicle when another paper landed on her desk with a thud.
"....."
'I haven't even warmed my seat yet.'
She looked at Rayen with a dark face for a while. Once she had had enough of Rayen's face to ruin her day, she looked down at the papers.
"Fine. I'll handle it."
Rayen's smile widened.
"Don't smile."
Immediately, Rayen wiped his smile.
However, she merely glanced at the essay before putting it down. Rayen watched her as she turned on her computer and typed on the keyboard.
Ms. Jin quickly processed the paper in her hands, her movements were as swift as Xi Huan's. No wonder she could finish those mountains of documents in a span of a day. It was definitely an enviable skill.
A few moments later, Ms. Jin handed the stamped application to Rayen.
Rayen glanced at the paper in her hands. "That's it?"
Ms. Jin smiled. "Your club application still needs a few more processes to be fully approved. I would have to assign a teacher to be your club adviser too. As for your club room..."
Ms. Jin looked at the map of the school that was pinned on her cubicle wall. She then pointed at one corner of the third building on the right side.
"Room 434"
"This is an empty room. You can use it."
Rayen looked at the sky before nodding with a tearful expression.
"... Thank you, Ms. Jin."
"You're welcome," Ms. Jin replied with a warm smile.
Ms. Jin was definitely efficient. But maybe if she wasn't efficient enough, her work might be reduced.
Rayen didn't say this, though. It was payment for rending his heart for today. He owed that lazy writer just to write that essay, yet she didn't even spare it a glance!
Now that they have their club application approved, Rayen happily sent the news to the other members.
