Chapter 215 Candy Siblings

"Damn, this picture is really..."

Ren Suo made a cursory comment, but that was it. After all, being in his twenties, he wasn't about to get worked up over a few racy pictures.

It would take at least a racy video to get his attention.

Who is he?

At that moment, the young man on the Iron Seat slightly raised his eyes, gazing in the direction of the Magician.

But the light in his eyes seemed to pierce through dimensions, observing the real Ren Suo, who was lying on the sofa in nothing but boxer shorts, playing a game!

"Interesting. Although the gem can't hold overly powerful Magic, it also employed 'Visual Displacement.' I thought that would suffice to conceal it." He chuckled. "The Mage Under the World Tree... truly lives up to the name."

What does that mean? Ren Suo glanced at the other people on the screen and saw they hadn't noticed Luo Wenjie at all. At most, a few had puzzled chat bubbles appearing above their heads:

"Did the necklace of that guy from the Mysterious Country just glow?"

"Is it a Supernatural Item?"

"Such strong Energy fluctuations! What did he do?"

These people, they hadn't seen the Spatial Cavity!

Was the Spatial Cavity invisible?

Ren Suo recalled the Iron Seat Man's words. If what he said was true, then this Spatial Cavity might have employed a Spell called 'Visual Displacement.' Judging by the name, it was likely a Spell that rendered the Spatial Cavity invisible to others!

Then why could the Magician see it?

Ren Suo quickly realized—it might not be that the Magician could see it. He, Ren Suo the Player, was the one who could see it.

Visual Displacement... it sounded like an Ability that achieved 'Invisibility' by distorting light. All observers relying on light for sight should logically be affected.

But what was Ren Suo's perspective?

A third-person perspective!

A Spell affecting a first-person perspective would be meaningless against a third-person view!

However, because the Iron Seat Man wasn't in the hall, his name didn't display above his head.

But the Silver-White Mage certainly carried himself with an air of importance as he said, "A pleasure to meet you, powerful one from the Mysterious Country. Your seat is truly astonishing."

He can tear space with his bare hands and, it sounds like, even Enchant props. As a Magician, it's not an overstatement to call him a powerful one.

The Iron Seat Man smiled faintly, an unknown thought crossing his mind as he turned the computer screen beside him away.

Too late. I already know you have a thing for non-humans.

The Silver-White Mage asked, "Can you teleport people in?"

The Iron Seat Man shook his head. "No. The Spatial Barrier of the Secret Realm—or rather, the Secret Realm itself—hasn't fully merged with this world. All Space Spells are meaningless against the Secret Realm."

"After watching the recording from the Yangtze Troops, I'm quite convinced by what you Magicians say. When the Secret Realm fully descends, that's when the Spatial Barrier will completely disappear. Then, the creatures from the Secret Realm will be able to freely come and go from Earth..."

"The best approach, then, is to deal with the creatures of the Secret Realm before it fully descends. The Secret Realm that appeared in the Mysterious Country... was that purified by you, Mr. Magician?"

The Silver-White Mage replied, "Indeed."

The Iron Seat Man said, "Please allow me to express my gratitude. After your purification, although the Secret Realm's Spatial Barrier vanished and it fully descended onto Earth, and monsters still appeared, those monsters cannot leave the Secret Realm. Yet, humans can freely enter and exit. This is all thanks to your efforts."

The Silver-White Mage said, "But you said Space Spells are ineffective against the hall. How did you..."

The Iron Seat Man laughed. "I placed a marker on this compatriot. By sensing that marker, I was barely able to tear open a path through space. Although, due to the Secret Realm's limitations, I can't send you back to Earth, nor can I influence the Secret Realm itself, audio and visual communication are still possible."

Luo Wenjie finally found an opportunity to interject, "Mr. Magician, now that we can send messages out for supplies, what props do you think we need?"

Ren Suo paused, momentarily stunned.

Only Cultivators could enter this place, so the weapons they could carry were restricted. They had to be items their limbs were in contact with, plus a backpack at most. Even a strongman couldn't drag a chest inside; it would get stuck at the entrance, only able to be dragged out, not into the Secret Realm. Consequently, Cultivators entering the Secret Realm carried limited supplies, mostly conventional combat weapons. While their Combat Power was decent, the weapons weren't highly specialized. However, because entry into the Secret Realm was one-way and it was isolated from the outside world, those outside couldn't know what supplies were needed within.

The Iron Seat Man stated, "I must remind you, the only coordinates I can currently activate are tied to this compatriot's prime-quality item, and only on the condition that it shatters. Therefore, you have only one chance to request supplies."

"In another 97 seconds, this Spatial Cavity will dissipate. Please decide quickly."

Is this a test?

The Silver-White Mage said, "We Magicians are not the ones controlling the weapons; you are. I trust, Commander Luo Wenjie, that you already know how to defeat this horde of crazed Demons, correct?"

"This isn't about helping the World Tree; it's about helping yourselves. We are collaborators, not your superiors or subordinates."

"The World Tree has no interest in establishing so-called prestige."

Luo Wenjie smiled.

「Twenty minutes later.」

The Cultivators appeared in the hall, equipped with Shock Bombs, Flash Bombs, and Flamethrowers.

「Thirty-six minutes later.」

The Magicians, treading a nauseating path paved with human-faced locusts, finally set foot in the Candy Town area.

「Four hundred sixty-three minutes later—」

Only a few human-faced locusts remained, though new Demons still sporadically appeared. However, against the well-equipped Transcendents, their respawn rate couldn't keep up with the rate of elimination. Shock Bombs and Flash Bombs effectively downed the human-faced locusts, and Flamethrowers dealt damage comparable to Magic. Even though the locusts attempted multiple suicide attacks, under the Magicians' Healing and support, not a single Transcendent fell. However, they had already rotated shifts several times. After more than eight hours of battle, even the Transcendents were utterly exhausted.

Ren Suo noticed some Transcendents had broken off from the main group to scavenge items from the town, especially from the remains of Candy Houses, trying every method to knock down pieces of candy.

There might still be things in the Secret Realm that the Magicians don't need but are quite useful in the real world. That might be why Earth's nations were willing to send Transcendent troops in—to secure these resources first.

Their success this time could be described as quite fortunate. In truth, it was only because the key to this battle was 'large-scale damage capability.' A typical hall boss's regeneration and resilience would be enough to withstand Earth's Hot Weapons, and they wouldn't fear Shock Bombs or Flash Bombs at all—most bosses used area-of-effect attacks, rendering visual or auditory impairment useless.

When the Magicians killed the last human-faced locust, all the locust corpses in the hall suddenly began to tremble!

"AAAAH—"

"OMGOMGOMG!"

It's hard for anyone who hasn't experienced it to understand the terror. Simply put:

Imagine waking to find your bed swarming with slimy roaches. You open your eyes to see the walls, floor, ceiling, lights, and windows of your room entirely covered in brown, wriggling, roach-like creatures. As you scream in terror, you even feel something crawl into your mouth—

This was precisely the scenario the Transcendents faced: the human-faced locusts they had slain—charred, torn to pieces—suddenly twitched and took to the air. They swept over them like a tide, converging on the town center.

Ren Suo instinctively covered his mouth, taking a sharp breath in fright. He couldn't stand it either.

"Good thing I'm outside the screen..." he muttered.

Moments later, the gathered locust corpses solidified, shrank, and finally transformed into an adorable brother and sister, their bodies emanating a sweet fragrance, seemingly made of sugar.

The Silver-White Mage approached them and saw tears streaming down their faces; however, their tears were golden sugar syrup.

"Redemption!"

The Candy Siblings exuded a refreshing scent as images of their past flashed on the screen:

"That year, a locust plague brought famine to the entire region."

"A couple decided to abandon their children, a brother and sister, in the forest. Their reasoning was simple: the children were too young, and no one would buy them."

"Too young to find food, the siblings quickly became intensely hungry."

"The siblings remembered the candy their mother had given them."

"The taste in their memories was sweet, and the laughter so joyful."

"As the memories bloomed on their tongues, the Hunger became even more unbearable."

"Then, they saw an incredible cup."

"Desperate, they craved any food they could find."

"So sweet. The brother licked the sister; the sister licked the brother. Perhaps it was the memory itself; their bodies began to transform into candy."

"Satiated, the siblings didn't just think of themselves. They found the strength to return home, wanting their parents to eat of them and be full as well."

That way, could they return to those times of joyful laughter?

"However, they were met with rejection from their parents and the townsfolk, who believed the siblings had become monsters seeking revenge. Terrified by tales of Demons and clinging to their remaining sanity, they dared not taste the children and simply drove them away."

"With nowhere to turn, the siblings returned to the forest, embracing each other and crying. Even their tears were sweet."

"After a while, the locusts that caused the famine gathered on their bodies."

"Yet, the siblings were happy—"

"Shunned by everyone, they had finally found a place that would accept them, even if it was the stomachs of the locusts."

"Then, the incredible Holy Grail appeared once more."

"The siblings made another wish: they wanted a family; they didn't want to be alone."

"Three days later, everyone in the town was devoured by the terrifying locusts."

"The locusts could excrete solid and liquid candy. They used this sugar to build houses, neatly arranged, resembling a town..."

"If a traveler passed by, the locusts would appear and drag them into a house. Before long, a new locust would appear in that house."

"The human faces on the locusts... surely that was proof the siblings' wish had come true—they finally had so many inseparable family members."
