I Am The Only Witch Hunter

Chapter 192: Ashe's Uniform

Siderius stood outside of the underground hideout, tapping his feet and waiting for Ashe to finish. Soon, she came out with a piece of paper. Her eyes avoided Siderius.

"I think I did it okay, Master. There might be some inaccuracies."

Siderius took the paper and nodded. "No worries. It isn't like the usual tailoring anyway. If there is any discomfort, we can change the uniform later.

Oh, and bring me a few pieces of clothing that you don't use anymore. You are going to need an additional piece of clothing to go along with the uniform. I will use them to make the new piece of clothing for you."

Ashe nodded without understanding much. She gave him a few of her old clothes.

"Linen, huh? This will be suffice."

Siderius and Ashe returned to the Mercury Seal. The hunter clasped his hand together and began to fuse the two hides together.

Deer hide was comfortable and flexible, suitable to be the inner layer of the hunter uniform. It was more durable than the average linen and wool. A hunter uniform needed to be reliable and resistant to tearing so a deer hide was a better choice than linen or wool.

The hard and durable hide of the boar would be best as the outer layer. It was in no way comparable to ghoul skins but it was more flexible, suitable to be made into protective clothing without the rigidness of leather armor.

The design of the Ashe's hunter uniform was quite different from Siderius. Siderius was a man. And men's clothes were easier to design due to their slim body.

A woman was different. Their hips were wider. Their bust was bigger. All of that needed to be considered when making female clothing.

Ashe was far from mastering Mercury Transformation so Siderius had to do this by himself.

The uniform quickly took shape. It was a pair of shirt and pants with defensive traits similar to Siderius' hunting uniform.

His uniform was more durable and rigid. This uniform had less defensive capability but more flexibility and comfort.

Ashe's uniform laid on the ground with a shade of dark brown. It inherited the color of the boar hide, just like how Siderius' uniform was pure black because of the buffalo hide.

Ashe thought he was finished but Siderius continued to transform her old clothes into something very particular. Pieces of clothing that were suspiciously small.

Siderius finished quickly. Ashe's mind was no longer focused on the hunter uniform but on the suspiciously small garments.

"What are those, Master?"

"These are undergarments. You wear these directly on your body before layering on top other clothes or the hunter uniform. It will protect your sensitive area from harm."

Siderius didn't look at her when he's explaining but he could already imagine her expression.

"I… What… How…" Ashe wasn't able to form coherent words in her mouth.

"It is a sensitive subject I understand. But you will thank me someday. We need to keep our body healthy, clean, and safe. Any amount of error can lead to our death."

"I understand, Master…" Ashe whimpered. She took the clothes away and ran into the hideout.

Siderius stayed still, letting out a huge breath.

"This is why a sister in the Holy Order was useful. I mostly asked Elvyn to do these things in the past."

Sister Elvyn Shar, a priestess in the Holy Order and also a witch hunter, was one of Siderius' friends in his old world. They were good friends and even developed the Nine Rings Technique together.

Usually, Elvyn would take care of these sensitive matters. Not all new female recruits knew how to properly take care of themselves.

Siderius felt like a father all of a sudden. He found it to be very amusing also. Taking in an apprentice was like adopting a new child. You became their second father and led them further in life. Siderius just didn't think he would be a more literal father.

"Elvyn… What does the afterlife look like, my friend? Is your soul still intact? Or is it transformed into energy and matters like what we theorized?"

Siderius looked up to the sky and mumbled. Sister Elvyn Shar was dead. She had been dead a long long time ago. Along with Sir Cael Rohan. Along with the Highlander.

Most of the talented witch hunters that Siderius knew were dead. They either died in battle or by the natural order. None escaped death, the only truth in all worlds.

Ashe went out of the underground hideout. She was fully dressed up in the dark brown hunter uniform. It was surprisingly comfortable and fitted Ashe perfectly. She couldn't expect less from her Master.

She saw his lonely back kneeling near the Mercury Seal. A lone solitary spirit in the dark of night. She detected loneliness in him. Something that she could never understand from someone who was not that much older than her.

Snow was only sixteen years old. He was about to reach his seventeenth year of age. But her master wasn't simply Snow. She knew that.

"Are you alright, Master?" Ashe approached Siderius and said.

"Why wouldn't I be, my apprentice? How are the clothes?" Siderius smiled. He was no different than normal.

"It is perfect, Master. Not an ounce of discomfort."

Siderius nodded. "Take a run in the uniform and test it out. Then you can tell me how you feel."

"Yes, Master!"

Ashe turned her back and ran away. Without her dress, she could freely traverse without much hindrance. It was a new feeling for her. A freedom she had never experienced. This was what she always craved for. A freedom to do everything she liked.

Siderius observed everything with ease. Ashe was very promising. She had a natural talent in Alchemy and leading. In the future, she would become one hell of a witch hunter, probably becoming a core leader of a witch hunting branch.

Siderius wondered if he would still be alive on that day. He tried his best to survive and grow. But Fate was a fickle thing. No one could guarantee that they would live forever. Not even the great Sir Siderius Satterblade.
