The Magnificent Son-in-law

Chapter 323: Car Accident

"That kid just now, what a waste of his eyes."

Watching the Wuling drive out of the service area, Lin Jiaxuan said with an unpleasant expression.

"Did he?" Xiao Feng struggled to hold back a laugh and said, "I actually think he has good taste. How about I acknowledge you as my goddaughter, come on, call me dad."

As soon as he finished speaking, Lin Jiaxuan's eyes turned cold. She clenched her right fist and swiftly punched forward, aiming directly at Xiao Feng's abdomen.

"Smack!"

Xiao Feng caught Lin Jiaxuan's punch with one hand, bent down, and pinched her high nose, teasing, "I must say, you really do look quite adorable from this angle. I'll discuss with your sister about just adopting you."

"You!" Lin Jiaxuan showed an angry expression, "Let go!"

"No," Xiao Feng had a rogue face, "If you have the ability, pull your hand back yourself."

"I'll say it one more time, let go!" Lin Jiaxuan threatened, her small face full of embarrassment and anger. Her tone seemed serious, but her appearance had no intimidation whatsoever, only making her seem cute and playful.

Xiao Feng still didn't let go, maintaining a hooligan demeanor of 'if you have a plan, go for it; if not, tough luck.'

"Fine, you asked for this..." Lin Jiaxuan gasped in anger, then raised her voice and shouted, "Sister, Sister Lu Yao, Sister Shihan, help, someone's molesting me!"

While speaking, she jumped up and hung around Xiao Feng's neck.

Xiao Feng was stunned, instinctively supporting Lin Jiaxuan's backside. Was this still the same top assassin?

Three seconds later, the people Lin Jiaxuan called ran over one after another, seeing Lin Jiaxuan struggling in Xiao Feng's arms rather vehemently.

"Xiao Feng brother, you..." The little girl looked at Xiao Feng in disbelief, then stepped forward to 'rescue' Lin Jiaxuan.

Meanwhile, Lu Yao and Lin Zhiyan wore expressions of doubt, looking back and forth between Xiao Feng and Lin Jiaxuan, unsure of what was happening.

"How could you be this kind of person?" The little girl started scolding relentlessly, "Do you know it's illegal to do this?"

"Only you would take that seriously," Xiao Feng said with a darkened face, "Do you believe her when she says molestation?"

Just then, Zhao Guo'an's head popped out of the window, his eyes filled with barely concealed schadenfreude, but his expression showed deep disappointment: "Brother Xiao, I really misjudged you. What a wolf in sheep's clothing. Doing such things, it's truly a declining world, people's hearts... holy shit!"

He didn't finish speaking before one of his eyes was blackened by Xiao Feng.

Zhao Guo'an immediately wanted to rush down and fight Xiao Feng. Whether he could win was one matter, but whether to fight was another.

A person might be beaten to death, but he must not die like a coward.

The body can be destroyed, but the spirit is eternal!

While giving himself a psychological pep talk, Zhao Guo'an got off the car, but before he could react, he heard "beep beep," as a brand-new tour bus honked from a short distance away.

Shortly after, the driver ran over, "Are you Mr. Xiao Feng? I'm here to pick you up. Please get on the bus."

Everyone had to put aside their disagreements for the time being, pack their things, and move to the new bus.

One driver remained on the original bus, while the driver who had opened the toilet door joined them on the new bus, taking the main driver's seat.

Zhao Guo'an was the last to board, sitting in a corner and silently licking his wounds. Thinking about his experiences on this trip, he really wanted to howl to the sky and ask: Why am I always the one getting hurt?

What exactly did I do wrong?

This is the question currently troubling Zhao Guo'an, and after much thought, he believes that perhaps his biggest mistake was getting to know Xiao Feng.

If he hadn't met Xiao Feng, he'd still be living leisurely, occasionally treating the health of dignitaries, getting some benefits, living a cozy, satisfying life.

But since meeting Xiao Feng, being kidnapped, stabbed in the thigh, photographed with his pants down — he'd never experienced such bad luck in the first twenty years of his life, all hitting him at once within a few days.

The more he thinks about it, the more indignant he becomes, pulling open the curtains, feeling the urge to roll down the car window and jump out.

You should know that he hasn't even covered half the journey, his butt's exposed, his eye's blackened, and there's a long road ahead. God knows what other misfortunes await him.

Just then, everyone in the bus obviously felt the vehicle slow down, turn on the hazard lights, and pull over to the emergency lane.

"Driver, why are we stopping?" the little girl called out.

The driver in the front turned his head, smiled at the little girl, and expressed genuine gratitude because this young lady insisted he rest in the bed compartment earlier, "Don't worry, there's a situation up ahead, we'll be able to move in about twenty minutes."

The co-driver got off the bus to place a tripod behind the vehicle.

"A situation?" The little girl perked up, her love for excitement coming through.

But as soon as she moved, Xiao Feng pressed her back into her seat, "Stay put, I'll go take a look."

The little girl may not have caught on, but how could Xiao Feng not see through it? The driver intentionally minimizes the problem; it can't be small if there's an incident on the highway.

But upon reaching the front of the car, Xiao Feng's pupils constricted, standing frozen in place...

About two hundred meters ahead of the bus, there was a split-level interchange bridge, on the other side, a vehicle had crashed into the guardrail. At this moment, seven or eight people were using a ladder to climb down from the bridge, heading straight for the crashed vehicle once they landed.

"Surprised?" The driver engaged the handbrake, shut off the engine, and tossed a betel nut in his mouth, as if it's a necessity for long-haul drivers to have something in their mouth to combat drowsiness.

Xiao Feng didn't respond, as if he hadn't heard anything, still fixing his gaze on that accident vehicle.

The driver continued, "For us long-haul drivers, this isn't uncommon. Those guys on the bridge make their living off these deadly scenarios; see that rock in the road?

They'll target fast-moving vehicles in advance, and once they spot one approaching at high speed, they'll set up heavy objects on the bridge, wait for this vehicle to pass, and then drop the big rock. The driver won't have time to brake and will swerve to avoid it, leading to a crash into the guardrail.

Those with better luck just lose money; those with worse luck lose both life and property, it's all gone."

Xiao Feng silently got off the bus, striding towards the accident vehicle ahead.

The vehicle was a Wuling, the same one he had seen with that family of three, or rather family of four, just half an hour ago.

Half an hour later, it's certain that the family of four had become a family of three, with the chance of saving the child inside the pregnant woman being incredibly slim.

The cause isn't due to Hao Zhenyu's mishandling but a man-made accident.

No!

This isn't an accident at all!

It's outright murder!
